"I'm staying with you all week!? Really?" Kid Naruto jumped around kid Sasuke's room in elation. "You're for real?"

"That's what my parents said." Kid Sasuke angled his head as he set down a corner of the block he was holding on the ground. "Your apartments broken or something. I don't know. It's just for a few days til it's fixed up." He twisted his wrist and let go making his toy block spin around like a top. His cheek puffed out a glum gleam in his eyes as he watched it dance around.

Kid Naruto watched Kid Sasuke in awe and fascination. "That was so cool! Sasuke, how'd you do that?"

"Tch, like I'm telling you." Kid Sasuke replied chin rested on his fists. "Figure it out yourself, loser."

"Your so mean." Kid Naruto complained and kid Sasuke hummed in affirmation. The clock chimed on the wall. Kid Sasuke pouted to himself as he saw the time and started picking up his toys.

"Hey, what are you putting everything away for?" Kid Naruto stared in confusion. "Those brick things are fun!"

"Gotta clean up." Kid Sasuke tossed an orange toy block at the blonde. It nailed him in the forehead. Kid Naruto knocked right off his feet from the blow. "It's bedtime, blockhead."

"Wha~? Ow!" Kid Naruto covered his forehead. That had really smarted. "But Sasuke! I'm not even tired!" Kid Naruto protested kicking his feet.

"Well I am. A ninja gets his rest." Kid Sasuke crawled into bed, he grabbed his dinosaur and hugged it snuggling up under his comforter. "Itachi promised he'd train with me tomorrow before his mission. I've gotta get up early so be quiet."

"Oh." Kid Naruto blinked. "Okay." Kid Naruto pulled his knees up to his rocked a little flopping over to lie down. Sasuke had gifted him a pillow and a sheet to cocoon himself in. But the floor was hard and getting comfortable in such a strange new place was even harder. The floorboards creaked under him. Kid Naruto froze looking scared. Sasuke's house was big and echoey. What if there were ghosts?

Kid Sasuke peaked an eye open at him. Kid Sasuke sighed. Mistaking Kid Naruto's shiver of terror for one of being cold. Kid Sasuke lifted his comforter. "Come here, quit chattering. It's annoying."

Kid Naruto's eyes widened, he grinned happily snatching up his pillow leaping to join Kid Sasuke under the covers. "Gee thanks Sasuke."

"Whatever just go to sleep idiot." Kid Sasuke told him. They both snuggled in on their separate sides and drifted off.

In the middle of the night Kid Naruto had to take a whizz. He got out of bed and went to do his business. He wiped his hands on his pants on his way back, scratching at his bum. He yawned sleepily. Sasuke would be horrified to find he didn't wash them.

"I can't even look at him."

Kid Naruto paused by a shut door. That was Sasuke's dad. Why were his parents up? Sasuke had said it was bedtime. He pressed his ear to it listening in. Curious.

Mikoto sighed. "You're going to have to tomorrow."

"I don't have to do anything." Fugaku denied. "I'm head of this clan. I do as I please."

"He's your son."

"He's no son of mine. I'm disowning him."

"Fugaku."

"I mean it. The nerve he has..."

"You're talking nonsense. Sasuke's done nothing wrong."

"Nothing? " Fugaku countered. "What about getting into bed with that damned Uzumaki?"

Naruto gasped, slamming a hand over his mouth to muffle the sound. Sasuke was getting disowned because of him? That was awful. At least Naruto assumed it was awful. He didn't really know what getting disowned meant but it sounded real bad! His parents must have seen them!

"What about it?" Mikoto challenged. "I think...I think he makes Sasuke happy."

"I don't care if he's content. Sasuke can't be allowed to remain with him. They have to separate. I will not have him shame the family with this association. I forbid him ever having such a union with the fox demon's container. The clans image is bad enough."

What? Naruto gained a look of horror. They were splitting him and Sasuke up? His family hated him? But he was his best friend! He-he...This wasn't fair. He was just trying to make him feel better. Naruto'd just wanted him to protect him from potential ghosts. That was all! What was so bad about Sasuke being his friend and making him feel safe? Everything according to Sasuke's dad. The blonde couldn't let Sasuke get disowned. Whatever that meant. He didn't want that for Sasuke. There was one thing he had to do. Naruto made up his mind. He left a note for Sasuke, slid it underneath his dinosaur, and then he left the house. Six year old Naruto setting out into the foggy darkened streets without a word. Nothing but a teardrop left behind in the doorway.

When kid Sasuke woke up the next morning he stretched and rolled, frowning as his arm rested against an empty pillow beside his own.

He sat up rubbing at his left eye. "Naruto?" He looked to his side. Sure enough he wasn't there. Kid Sasuke frowned his hand lowering. Where was he?

His eyes flicked around, but the blonde was no where to be seen. He found the note a few minutes later. He read it. Once. Twice. Grit his teeth. Crushed the paper in his fist and-

"That stupid blockhead!" Kid Sasuke could be heard clamoring down the stairs. "Him and his dumb pranks! This isn't funny."

"Slow down, Sasuke." Itachi was struggling to keep up with him down the stairs. His kid brother frantic practically running through the house. Note crumpled and clutched in his hand.

"He's not here, Itachi!" Sasuke snapped. "I've looked everywhere!"

"Something wrong boys?" Mikoto walked out of the kitchen drying a glass. She looked between her children in concern.

"I can't find Naruto." Sasuke ran up to his mother. He grabbed onto apron. "Have you seen him?"

"Not since yesterday." Mikoto smiled. "Having a fun game of hide and go seek are we? That's nice." She raised her hand going to pat Sasuke's head.

"This isn't a game!" Sasuke's voice raised and Mikoto's eyebrows shot up in surprise at her sons anger. Her palm freezing and drawing back.

"Sasuke." Fugaku's reprimand was stern, immediate. "Don't snap at your mother."

"Yo! Hey Itachi sorry I'm a little earl-uh woah..." Shisui blinked having let himself in the open front door. "Sasuke lookin a little heated there. You okay?"

"Oh shut up Shisui!" There was a growl in the nursling Uchiha's throat. "I don't have time to waste on you."

"Sasuke." Itachi was horrified. More so at just how much of his older self he could see in him in this moment. "That was rude."

"I don't care. Naruto. He must've." Sasuke clutched the note tighter. "He must've left last night. We have to go find him. Now. He-he could be frozen to death!"

Itachi's eyebrows furrowed. "It's summer."

"He could have fallen into a river, that idiot trips over his feet in the daylight we've got to find him Itachi!"

"Stop being so dramatic Sasuke. Your mother made breakfast." Fugaku had a newspaper in front of him. "Sit down and eat. You can search later."

"No." Kid Sasuke denied.

"What?" Fugaku folded down his newspaper looking to his child in shock. His son had never denied a command before. Was this influence of his future self? Fugaku narrowed his eyes.

"Sasuke-"

"I said no!" Sasuke yelled. He sprinted for the door. He scrambled to put on his shoes realizing with a start that his own were gone. That dummy took his shoes! Kid Sasuke growled in frustration. Okay, whatever, barefoot it is. "If no one's gonna take me seriously I'll do it myself! I'm gonna find-" kid Sasuke ran straight into a pair of legs. The limbs so strong the child actually ended up bouncing back off of them. He landed roughly on his back inside the entryway.

Kid Sasuke groaned rubbing at his forehead. He pushed himself to sit up. His eyes widened. Was that... kid Sasuke squinted at the two men in the doorway. He focused on the one on the right. He looked so much older, but kid Sasuke knew those eyes. He knew that blonde hair. No one else had those marks on their cheeks. There wasn't another shinobi alive who'd wear orange. "Naruto?"

"Uh..." The blonde man's mouth dropped open stupidly.

The man beside him pinched the bridge of his nose. "See this, this is why I told you we needed to start wearing disguises, Usuratonkachi. My past self just made you in .2 seconds."

"What? What are you scolding me for!" Naruto snapped at Sasuke. "You just gave your identity away!"

"I-He already knows it's you, loser! There's no point in hiding mine with you exposed. I was just gonna figure it out. I'm not a moron like you!"

"Urgh!" Naruto fumed crossing his arms glaring to the side at his husband. Before something seemed to dawn on him. "Hey, where am I anyways?"

The question was met with silence. The sound of an unwrinkled paper as loud as a firework in the tense quiet. Kid Sasuke started reading aloud, voice frail, "You're parents are going to disown you if we sleep together again. They don't like that your friends with a monster like me. Bye forever, Sasuke. PS. Your out of orange crayons and I definitely did not drool on your shirt last night." His kid self looked up from the paper. Naruto's heart was shattered by the sight of Kid Sasuke's wide glassy eyes. "Your pranks not funny."

Naruto didn't know what to say to the kid. Kid Sasuke rendered him completely speechless. Fortunately, adult Sasuke knew what he needed to hear.

"Your right it's not funny. It's not a prank either." Lightning crackled in his older self's gloved hand. "Itachi. Take me for a walk." Sasuke ordered. The sky was darkening behind him. Lightning crackled bright. A monstrous roar tore through the sky. "Get out."

"In weather like that? Sasuke, It looks like it's..." Shisui peered out the door in confusion. "...only going to storm over your house?" He scratched at his head entirely lost. "Are you guys seeing this?"

Itachi was uneasy. "What do you plan on doing once we go?"

"Get out! I said." Sasuke's fist clenched. "Start looking for Naruto. Go now. I won't say it again."

"Itachi, Cmon." Kid Sasuke tugged at his hand. "Let's go. We can't waste time."

"Stop it, Sasuke. Don't be so impa-" Itachi started, but he didn't get to finish scolding his little brother. The adult one held two fingers in front of Itachi's forehead. He was propelled outside with little more than a flick, flipping through the air til he roughly landed in the bushes. Itachi groaned sitting up. He stared back at the door. Sharingan activated. What the hell hit him? Shisui and kid Sasuke ran to his side.

"There's a child missing." Sasuke spoke over his shoulder. Rinnegan transfixed on his brother. Itachi froze at the sight of it. "Find him."

The door between them slammed shut as Sasuke turned his face away.
