(Once upon a time)...That's how all fairy tales begin. It's how you know you're in for a world of adventure and excitement, Kings and queens, blah blah blah.

Real life is nothing like that. I would know more than anyone. After all, my life up to this point has been harder than anyone.

Let me bring you up to speed. My name is Hope Swan and today is my first day of school...this is also the 19th school my mother has sent me to.

We move around all over the globe from place to place. Because of my mom's work, she is a detective, investigating things like killings all the way down to lost kittens.

And now I'm here in new york.

"Hope, Breakfast is ready!" I hear her calling from the kitchen.

I don't see the point in waking up at 7 PM just to go to a school I know I'm never going to stay in.

But alas I had no choice I got out of bed to a bedroom full of boxes and junk I don't need and my only friend, Mr Flop (he's a bunny)

We have been here for a month, I think that's a record, "Coming!" I said dragging my feet across the wooden floor into the hallway.

The hallway was a little bit narrow we barely managed to get my bed up here.

The window ceil was dusty, I would dust in but there's no point, I'd be gone in a month or the one after.

"Morning honey, you sleep ok?!" Mom said standing by the kitchen sink, wearing her long red trench coat ready to run off to work with coffee in hand.

"I guess so,!" I Rubbed my eyes, So what is the case this time, Has there been a lost puppy, Because if so I really want one!

"Nope sorry, no puppy for you today, But there are people going missing, Which means we are gonna be here for a while.

When she said that she seemed sad like staying in one place was a bad thing, I think she is selfish in choosing her job over her own kid.

But I said nothing, what would be the point?

Bzzt,,,, Bzzt, Her phone buzzed on the table, i knew exactly what that sound meant, "Oh sorry Honey i gotta run duty calls!" And just like that, she was out the door.

leaving me with my house that isn't home and pancakes, to be fair these pancakes are pretty good

I said life was no fairy tale...
