Alright. So, we are going to start with an Original Character that may be important in the upcoming future. Here is my Original Character for this story, a Sangheili named Evdo 'Berkham and how he manages to gain some recognition by the Office of Naval Intelligence or ONI for short.

By the way, this is a REUPLOADED chapter as I had accidently uploaded it when it was freshly made. So yeah, I am going to say sorry for doing this and I hope you understand why.

Now then, as that small message is over, let's go onto the Story and make sure you read and review it.

Halo Galactic Wars: Anthologies Chapter One: First Sighting

UNSC Base, Unknown UEG Colony Planet

September 11th, 2534

Twenty-Six years before the events of Halo Galactic Wars

Within a battlefield in an unknown planet, the UNSC forces were at their best into defending their base from an incoming attack from the Covenant Forces. Shots were exchanged to both sides, but it seems to go more in the favour of the UNSC Marines.

In the command structure of the UNSC within the base, a female Lieutenant was having a talk with her men to discuss their current situation. "How many of us are left?"

"Forty-two remaining, Ma'am." A broad-shouldered Marine informed her.

She had her left hand cover her mouth at this. It had only been a few days since the Covenant Forces had launched their attack and from what she has gathered from intel, they were outmatched by the UNSC forces with around two thousand. This didn't mean that the UNSC forces were put in high alert.

The first few days, it seemed like luck was in their side as they had managed to counter the Covenant Forces at the cost of losing some of their men. This seemed like they were about to retreat but…

All of a sudden, another wave of Covenant Forces had arrived. This time, however, it seems like they were not willing to allow them to retreat back to base. All Pelicans were destroyed, and they had bombarded them with endless amounts of Plasma Shells.

The number of the UNSC forces stationed onto their base had been greatly reduced from thousand to around forty-two within a span of a few days.

Whoever was the one leading the attack, it must be one very experienced individual.

The female Lieutenant thought about the situation that they are in and look at some of her men. "Inform the remaining survivors to regroup to conduct a—"

"Central Command! Come In?" A voice of a UNSC Marine called out through the comms. "The Covenant has breached the base! I repeat, The Covenant Forces have been breached the base!"

Hearing the Marine's voice must have been really concerning for the Lieutenant to hear and she asked him one questions. "What do you see, marine?"

-Scene Change-

In the yard within the UNSC Base, a horde Sangheili forces were opening fire towards the UNSC, and they seemed to deal a lot of damage towards their opponents. Behind a destroyed structure, a male Marine then informed Central Command of the situation. "Elites! Lots of 'em! Trying to get the numbers of their forces!" He covered behind to avoid hit by plasma bolts. "They seemed to be quite experienced, and they are coming in fast! I have never seen Covenant Forces like this before!"

"Hold your position, Trooper! We're sending in more men to help!" The Lieutenant informed him through the comms.

"I don't think that would be possible!" He said before he ended his communication through central command. He exhales to ease himself from the nervousness that he was currently feeling as he was about to hold his position.

After a few quick seconds of exhaling, he then aimed his Assault Rifle at the Elites that were coming towards his position. "COME GET ME, YOU BASTARDS!"

Just before anything could happen, he suddenly felt a burning sensation through his chest and turned to look down to see that an Energy Sword had manage to pierce through him. The Energy Sword was then pulled out of his chest and then he fell down to the ground.

Lying into the ground as darkness almost consumed his eyes, he turned his head just a bit to see who had done it. There, he saw an Elite Ultra wielding two Energy Swords as well as having Two Energy Daggers activated as well.

This Elite just stared at him and said nothing as he saw this human quickly dying from his pain. Seeing that his left had just ended, this single Ultra Elite then deactivated his weapons and he proceeded to head where Central Command was located to finally put an end to this siege while his Elites were eliminating any Humans that were in their way.

-Scene Change-

Back at Central Command, all remaining Marines were regrouping at the orders of the female Lieutenant. As expected, only twenty were present in the room. That didn't matter to her as she was giving them new orders. "All right, Marines¬ The Covenant has managed to breach throughout wall and are heading towards Central Command! So, I want all of you to set up defense and we'll make them regret from ever coming here! Do I make myself clear?!"

"YES MA'AM!" All the present Marines shouted before doing what they were told.

KABOOM

An explosion was heard, catching everyone's attention. "What was that?!" One Marine asked while having an assault rifle ready.

Saying that pretty much alerted everyone as another set of explosions was heard. Everyone then readied their weapons as they were ready to what was about to come to them.

"Stay on guard, Marines!" The female Lieutenant informed her men as she pointed her Battle Rifle towards the direction of where the explosion was heard.

What none of them expected was that a fusion coil was chuckled along with a blue glow.

"Shit!" One female marine shouted as she realised what it was. "GRENADE!"

Some of the marines who were near the explosive had manage to dodge it. That didn't include three marines who were caught within it, which killed two a knocked one out. All of the remaining marines then pointed their weapons as they heard footstep approaching at a fast paste.

Then, upon the smoke, an Elite Ultra appeared and activated both of this energy swords as well as his Dual Energy Daggers. This elite went towards a group of six marines and before any could react, he swung his energy swords that resulted in all getting decapitated.

This Ultra Elite had observed his surroundings and saw that there were only twelve Marines that were left. Knowing that the battle was already in his favour, he decided to go all in and slaughter every single marine he sees.

"What in the…" The female Lieutenant could only say as she had never seen an Elite like this before and she knew that he is dangerous. "Marines, open fire!"

Hearing her words made three marine opened fire at the elite but all the bullets were deflected by his dual energy swords. As they had ran out of ammunition, the Elite uses his weapons to run up quickly against them and fatally slash them across the chest, killing them instantly.

"Eleven…Ten…Nine…" The Ultra Elite spoke in his native language as he killed each Marine. Just then, he saw a marine throwing a frag grenade towards him and landed near him. Knowing that this would bring his shields down, he kicked a dead marine's body to use as a cover to head where that Marine was and used both of his swords to stab the human across the chest. "Eight…"

"Lieutenant! What the hell are we dealing with here?!" A marine asked her commanding offer as he saw three more being savagely killed by this Ultra Elite. Just then, she met her end when an energy sword was slashed across her neck.

"Four…" He counted as he spoke in Sangheili. That was quite the fun he had but he knew that it would eventually end.

Just then, his shields were flickered when a marine had fired his shotgun round at him. In retaliation, he threw himself towards the marine and used his energy dagger to slash him from his left shoulder down to his right hip. This action then causes him to fall to the ground and the Lieutenant just opened fired at the Ultra Elite. However, he just kicked her towards the ground and slayed two more marines that opened fire on him.

As his shields were down, the female Lieutenant saw that she no longer had a firearm with her and only had a combat knife with her. She immediately stood up and pulled out her combat knife. The Lieutenant was ready to fight this Ultra Elite when she felt a burning sensation piercing through her Chest.

She looked down and she saw a pair of Energy Daggers had pierced through her and saw was completely surprised that this Ultra Elite was really quick in his actions. She looked up and saw orange eyes glazing at her. But before she succumbs to her wounds, the Lieutenant had one last thing to say. "Y-You…you are one unfair son of a bitch…" With that, she eventually fell down.

Seeing that this marine is dead, the Ultra Elite then rips out his two energy swords and he disrespectfully drops the recent dead body to the ground. Looking around the bodies that he has killed, he proceeded to deactivate his weapons before he looked at a CCTV that was pointing directly towards him.

The Ultra Elite didn't do anything as he kept staring at the CCTV. After for a while, he eventually turned around and regroup with his Elites. This siege was perhaps the most blatant one he had ever conducted, and he wasn't impressed by this.

But at least he might manage to gain the human's attention due to him using besieging methods to win a lot of battles and he is going to conduct more for his own desire. It is no wonder that many shunned and despise him due to his tactics and gained the nickname 'Siegemaster'.

For now, Evdo 'Berkham would have to wait to conduct another siege.

Yeah, not really one of the best writings that I had made. But what would you expect from an anthology. It basically a compilation of short stories written by one or more authors.
