As we know, Tori is Jade's favourite "dork" who is the second? The answer probably (won't) surprise you.
"I made waffles!" Tori sang happily, sliding three plates on the table, one for her, one for her wife and finally one for their son.
"And by you, I'm assuming Foodio made them?" Jade asked, looking up from her Stephen King book, nothing better than to start the day with some horror, was her motto... That is unless that horror was her wife's 'cooking.'
The Half-Latina frowned "You don't need to point out my lack of cooking skills."
"Vega... The last time you tried to cook waffles from scratch I ended up with food poisoning." Jade said dryly "Baby, while I appreciate the effort, I don't want another visit to the emergency room, so just use the toaster... For all our sakes."
"Fine... And it's West."
"Of course it is."
Not long after, their youngest child and only son entered the kitchen, accompanied by his faithful pet fox... Foxy, while the boy was rubbing his eyes trying to keep sleep at bay, the fox was yawning as they still were under the sandman's spell, so instead of getting some food, he rested next to his master, soft snores were heard afterwards.
"Hey, you," Tori teased as Tony took a seat, still wearing his dinosaur pajamas.
"Yay! Waffles! He cheered "Thank you Foodio!"
The robot chef beeped as if to say "You're welcome."
"I bought the waffles." Tori pointed. "Where's my thank you?"
Tony grinned, the signals his mama lower to his level, which she did. "Here it is." He said giving Tori a kiss on the cheek "Thank you mama."
The Half-Latina smiled at her son "Aww... Best kiss ever."
Jade rolls her eyes "You dork." She said under her breath.
"Where are Dani and Tawny?" Anthony asked, looking over at the twins empty seats. "Will they be here for my birthday?"
"Oh that's right." Tori said in fake shock "Somebody gets to be a year older today, Jade? Do you know who?"
"Me! Me!" The child said exitedly "I'm a big boy!"
"That's right you!" Tori cheered "And we have a surprise for you!"
"Really?" Anthony asked excitedly.
"Really." Tori confirmed "Today is your day."
"So we better make it a good one," Jade smirked getting up "So as soon as we finish breakfast, the three of us are taking a little trip."
"But what about Dani and Tawny?"
"Don't worry about your sisters." The Half-Latina said, they're not gonna miss your birthday, they're just gonna get some stuff... Yeah, stuff while we have a little fun with something, mean, powerful and scary."
"But mama, what's scarier than mom?" He questioned innocently.
Jade was not amused, giving her wife the evil eye.
"You'll see," Tori said, rustling his hair. "Now go get dressed, sweetie, so we can start."
"Okay!" Anthony said, hurrying off to his room, ready to find out what his parents had planned for him.
The former Goth grunted "This is going to be a long day."
"Very long."
"And we wouldn't want it any other way now would we?"
"Nope." Tori said with an excited grin "I been waiting for this for a very long time."
"Careful Vega." Jade taunted "One happy dork is enough for one day."
"But I'm still your favourite dork, right?"
"Today you're second."
"Aww."
"Don't aww me you dork." Jade growled "Kiss me instead while we still have some time to ourselves."
"No PG-13 today!"
"Since when does a kiss is under that ranting?"
"Since we have a six year old and I don't want him catching us doing something since we both know a kiss leads to more... Specially with your sexy irresistible lips!"
"I do have a very talented mouth."
"And a big head."
"And you have a big ass."
"What's an ass?" Tony asked curiously.
"JADE!"
"Oopsie." The former Goth said sheepishly "My bad."
"I really get to see the new dinosaur exhibit at the museum?" Anthony asked, just about ready to burst from overjoy. "I been wanting to come see the new moving triceratops for months!"
"You and me both buddy!" Tori grins with equal if not higher enthusiasm than her child "It's been a while since I been to one of these exhibits."
"My family sure isn't a stranger to the dork gene." Jade mutters as she watched both her wife and son being fascinated at a display full of dinosaur eggs.
"Did dinosaurs really had feathers mama?"
"That's what science says Mijo."
"Then why do movies show them without them?"
"Those movies are really old." Tori explained "And they're have been new discoveries ever since... For example, did you know that some paleontologists claim that some dinosaurs like the T-Rex didn't roared but rather made chicken like noises?"
The young boy burst out laughing "You're making up that mama!"
"I swear on your mom's scissors collection that it's the truth!"
"I heard that Vega!"
Anthony looked in all directions, usually there would be people asking for his parents autographs since they were quite famous, but the museum was rather... Empty, almost like a ghost town.
"Hey... Where is everybody?"
Jade and Tori shared a smile before looking down at their son.
"Well Mijo." The Half-Latina said with a wide smile "Since today is your birthday and since we know how much you love dinosaurs, your mom and I..."
"... Rented the whole museum until 4 o' Clock... Just for the three of us." Jade finished her wife's sentence.
The boy's eyes widened in surprise "Just us... So no photos, no annoying fans... No time away from you?"
"Nope." Both women confirmed "All these dead dinosaurs are our only companions for the day."
Anthony jumped right into his parents arms, chanting "Thank you, thank you, thank you, that's what I wanted!"
"It is?" Jade asked confused.
"Yeah!" He said gleefully "Time with my parents it's the best time!"
"Aww." Tori gushed, putting a hand over her heart, touched by her son's words.
"Ok dinosaur expert." Jade says affectionately "We have a whole day to explore a lost world, lead the way, tell us all you know about these dead lizards."
"OK!" Anthony agreed, grabbing his parents hands as he lead them to the next room which housed a life size model of a titanosaur, the family looked up in awe at the massive skeleton of the biggest sauropod that ever lived, as big as thirty elephants stacked one on top of the other just to make an educated guess.
"I suddenly feel small." Jade quips. "Very small."
"Mom?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you smell in the fumes of dead dinosaurs?"
A few hours into the Jurassic exhibition, Tony kept staring at all the fossils, models, etc. "This place is so cool!"
While Jade and Tori fondly watched as their son had the time of his life.
Suddenly Jade got up from the bench, surprising her spouse, the former Goth puts a finger over her mouth "Shh, be right back, I'm just getting our little paleontologist here a little souvenir.
"Don't be too long." Tori whispers sexily on her ear "I get lonely without you."
Jade tried hard not to moan, instead she bit her lower lip a little too hard she was sure some blood was coming out.
"I won't... Just keep an eye on Tony."
The Half-Latina chuckles before walking towards her son who was jumping up and down trying to touch the snout of a life-size model of a triceratops. "Here Mijo, let me help you."
Tori grabbed him so he could touch the model of his favourite dinosaur, usually these things had a no touching policy but seeing as they rented the museum for the afternoon and her son was having a blast, rules be damn!
"Ohh it's really wrinkly..." He noticed "Come on mama! Touch it!"
Tori did, which resulted in her shuddering in disgust "Real or not, scales are gross."
"Nuh-huh!" He shook his head quickly "They're cool!"
The Half-Latina laughs heartedly "You really love dinosaurs, don't you."
"I really want to see one." Tony wished. "That would be awesome...Except for maybe T-rexes. Because they're sort of scary."
"Remember, they made sounds like chicken." Tori reminded him "And no T-Rex would be a match for your mom."
Anthony imagined a T-Rex running away with its tail between its legs as his mom Jade West chased after him, all the while giving the so called "King of Dinosaurs" a glare that would resulted in extinction.
"Cool!"
"The museum will be closing in five minutes," a pre-recorded voice was heard over the loudspeaker.
"Aw no fair," Anthony whined "We were just getting started!"
"I hardly think that being here for a little over six hours it's just getting started." Jade said dryly "But don't worry, we'll come back... Eventually."
"Okay," Anthony nodded, before noticing that his pale mother had a big bag behind her legs "Hey mom... What you have there?"
"This? Jade asked nonchalantly, "Oh nothing... Except... A little memento of our time here."
The former Goth pulls a stuffed green dinosaur out of the bag.
"Whoa! Thanks!" he grabbed the dinosaur and hugged it in a similar fashion to when Tori used to hold her Cuddle Me Kathy Doll.
"What kind of dinosaur is that?" Tori inquiried.
"It's not a dinosaur," Anthony replied. "It's the Loch Ness monster! See how big his neck is?"
"My mistake," Tori chuckled.
"We'd better get going," Jade said, looking at her phone. "Ready for the third part of your birthday surprise?"
"There's more?!" He gasped, hugging his stuffed toy excitedly.
"Plenty more."
Truth to his parents words, Tony got yet another surprise, because the moment they parked in their driveway and entered the backyard, several little kids were running around the backyard, a big sign with the words "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANTHONY" was displayed for everyone to see.
Dani and Tawny were responsible to get the guests, the presents and the cake for their brother's party.
After several hours, Tony blew the candles off the cake.
Tori recorded the whole thing.
"Mama?"
Tori looks up from her computer.
Seventeen year old Anthony stared at his sixth birthday party "Going down memory lane I see."
The Half-Latina smiled sadly "I just love that day... You used to be so cute."
"Used to?" Her son asked offended.
"You were cute then." Tori said, making damage control "Now you're handsome."
"That's better." He said with a smirk, the half-Latina knew just then he had toyed with her, in response she simply grinned back.
"I love this part." Tori said with some nostalgia as she replays her son blowing up the candles.
"You can re-watch that later mama." Tony said gently "But now, there's a new dinosaur exhibit and I don't want to be late."
Tori chuckles "Some things never change." She looked over to her spouse. "You coming Jade?"
"Like I'm about to break this little tradition with my two favourite dorks."
All three Wests once more went to the museum.
Making new memories on the way.
It's an unspoken thing between Jade and Tori that the day the found Anthony not only represents his birthday, something that came true with time but also he being added to the West family.
For those of you who watched the episode "Opposite Date" if you recall Tori wanted to see a "dinosaur bone" which is what inspired, which makes me think that she is a "dinosaur geek" a trait that she passed down to her son in later years.
Fun Fact: Anthony and I share the same birthday, I created him after all, why not make him be born on the same day as yours truly?
That being said, yeah today I turn a year older so Happy Birthday to me, heh... Leave me a review as a present if you would be so kind.
As a final note, Tori and Tony's love for dinosaurs was based on my fondness for them while growing up and the idea of Jade and Tori renting the museum for the afternoon just so the trio of them could be alone was something that maybe all celebrity children want at a young age, time with their rents.
I am aware of the twins limited "screen time" but I just didn't know what else to give them other than "party planners."
Yeah, a huge error on my part.
Anyway, as always constructive criticism is greatly accepted for future chapters.
Invader Johnny Signing Off.
