Leo looked down, trying to wrap his head around the fact that this camp was real, until he remembered that he was supposed to be trying to find a way to escape the camp and get back to Aunt Hildegard's apartment...even though she'd make him do the most boring stuff when he did...

His train of thought stopped when he felt his stomach grumble. "I guess breakfast is in order..." Leo said. Grabbing the dumbwaiter rope, he pulled the basket back to his level, and gently got himself down to the ground. Leo peeked outside and snuck to the mess hall. It was less noisy as it was last night at dinner, however, that was a given, due to there not being that many children inside, in fact it was empty. "Geez...it sure is quiet in here. Maybe everyone is already finished..." He thought as he walked towards the door.

Leo's quiet trek outside was blocked by the portly figure of Chef Saltbaker, who had just gotten inside. "Well good morning Leo! I didn't expect you to wake up this early!" He said cheerfully. Leo looked confused "Um good morning Chef...if you don't mind me asking, what time is it?" He asked. Chef Saltbaker pulled put a small alarm clock that read 7:30 am. "Well, I suppose that since you're up bright and early, you can help me prepare the kitchen!" He said, pushing Leo into the kitchen.

When they both were inside, the saltshaker let out a Loud whistle. A bunch of cooking utensils quickly sprung to life, much to the confusion of Leo. Chef Saltbaker clapped his hands "Alright everyone! Leo's gonna help me get the kitchen ready to cook, so please treat him with respect." He told them as the portly salt shaker walked over to a pantry and grabbed some ingredients. The cooking utensils looked up at Leo, who was internally panicking.

"Um...Ok, Uh...Maybe you all should jump in the sink? So I can clean you guys?" He asked. The utensils nodded as Leo filled up a sink with soapy water as the utensils jumped in and scrubbed themselves. He then, grabbed a few dish rags and sat them out so that the utensils can get dry. Chef Saltbaker came back holding a few bags of flour, and a few containers of sugar. "Hey there Leo! Oh good! You got the utensils clean. Now do you think you can help me mix pancake batter?" He asked. Leo nodded and grabbed a whisk...only for Chef Saltbaker to reveal a bicycle with a large mixing bowl "Alright, Get ready to pedal." He said, opening the bags of flour and sugar.

Leo looked between the door and the bike...and jumped on. Luckily, the load wasn't all that heavy, even with the ingredients "Usually, Balan, Sundrop or NiGHTS help with the mixing, but they've been busy lately, so I just need a little bit of help mixing big batches of batter." He explained. Leo nodded as he pedaled on. The sooner he got it done, the sooner he could go back out and plan the escape. However, the boy soon found himself losing energy, as he didn't eat anything.

Chef Saltbaker saw Leo loosing speed and grabbed some more ingredients before he got to work. Leo soon couldn't pedal anymore. Saltbaker let out a high pitched squeal that woke up half of the campers and staff. He whistled for his utensils to get the boy to the Private Tasteing Room, so he could get the boy some food to his stomach. The cooking utensils nodded and, with combined strength, lifted the boy up and hefted him into the private room...hoping that chef could help the young lad before he passed out...
