Author Notes: Seeing as today is Victoria Justice's birthday, I decided to post something to celebrate!
I also remember telling you all in the previous chapter that there was a reason as to why Tori and Tony are so similar and as promised, here it is!
It was quite early in the West household; around 8 o'clock to be exact, so it came to no surprise that everyone was fast asleep in their comfy, comfy beds.
"Umm… Jade." Tori muttered in her sleep. "That feels so good … Don't stop."
Jade opened an eye, lazily lifting her head from the pillow, she watched as her wife kept moving, sleepily repeating her name over and over, the thespian of course smirked smugly "Even in her sleep, she can't get enough of me."
She carefully got out of bed, making sure not to wake up her spouse. Jade tip toed to their shared closet, getting out some jeans, a turtleneck blouse, her favorite pair of boots, some sunglasses and a hat, making sure not to make a sound.
Once she was ready, Jade prepared to leave but not before giving her wife a peck on the cheek, whispering "I love you, Vega."
"It's West."
Jade stopped in her tracks, fearing she has woken up Tori "Oh shit."
"Gimme another kiss."
"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!" Jade hissed, mentally kicking herself for being so affectionate so early in the morning. "So much for her birthday surprise."
"Vega…. I…" She turned around only to be met with her still sleeping wife's closed eyes. "The hell?"
"Better yet… eat me downstairs." Tori muttered sleepily "Oh yes, oh yes oh yes!"
"Oh, this is too good." Jade snickered, getting her phone out and pressing "record", watching the younger woman kept asking for "more" almost moaning as she did so.
"You're a prude when you're awake but you have such saucy dreams, Vega." The Thespian thought amused. "Oh, how I wish I could get inside your head right about now."
After several minutes Tori finally stopped sleep talking, much to her wife's chagrin. "Damn it, just when it was getting good!"
Jade was tempted to give her wife another kiss in hopes of getting a "repeat performance" but she had things to do, so she puts her phone in her pocket and sneaked out of her bedroom.
"What took you so long?"
"Geez, Tony! Don't do that!" Jade hissed, putting a hand over her chest "You almost gave me a heart attack!"
He was about to say something only for his mother to beat him to it with an ominous warning "You make an old age joke and I'll ground you till you're twenty-one!"
Tony wisely shuts his mouth.
"And trust me son." She said "It's best if you don't know what went on in there."
The teenager understood the tone his mother had used and shuddered in disgust "It's too early to puke."
"You're just like your mama." Jade muttered with an eye roll "Now let's hit the road, we go a lot to do before she wakes up."
"You think we'll have enough time to get everything mom?"
"Oh yeah." Jade replied cheekily. "I gave her quite a workout last night."
"Ok, ew." Tony groaned "You took, a shower, right?"
"Oh… I knew I forgot something."
"MOM!"
"SHHH!"
A quick shower later both mother and son, were in the car, driving to their first destination of many for this very special day.
"Ok, first stop… we're gonna be picking up Tawny, Lukas and Matt at the airport." Tony said "I can't believe you convinced them to cut their vacation short for mama's birthday."
"Convinced her?" Jade asked "That's cute, when you're a mom you can easily guilt trip your kids into anything, plus your mama will love to see the entire family on her special day… Plus, I promised to buy them tickets to the next plane to Seattle in two days' time."
"Whatever you say mom." Tony said "After that, we gotta pick up Danielle and Rachel, which leads to my next question where will they be hiding if we can't take them home?"
"Why Cat's place of course." Jade answered "She promised to be awake to greet us in exchange for letting her and Robbie having quality time with Matt without me scaring the hell out of them for the entire day."
"Oh, this I got to see."
"What's that supposed to mean young man?!"
"What it implies." He teased "I bet you're gonna explode within the hour if you can't have Matt's attention, after all you're in a rivalry with Cat for who is his favorite grandma, mom."
"I can so handle it!"
"Care to make a wager on that?"
"What do you have in mind, son?" Jade inquired with a raised eyebrow.
"If you capable of allowing Cat and Robbie having some quality time with Matt for the whole day, then I won't complain ever again on the betrayal that I felt when my own mom decided to buy a cake rather than to let me bake one!"
"For the last time Anthony!" The woman said aggravated "I had to buy a cake this year because the kitchen's getting remodeled after the fiasco we had last month because someone who shall remain unnamed tried to cook one night and accidentally made a horrible creature that lived in the refrigerator, behind the mayonnaise, next to the ketchup and to the left of the Cole slaw!"
"Oh, right…." Tony says, still pouting at this injustice "It's still not fair!"
"Oy!"
"I mean I been baking stuff for mama's birthday since I was five!"
"And I'm sure she enjoyed each and every muffin, cake and fudge you made for her." Jade commented "I know it's a little tradition for you to cook something for your mama's birthday and my birthday, but I think under these circumstances, even you mom will understand why we had to break tradition this time."
"Fine… If you say so."
"Going back to our little bet, what do you want if you win?"
"I can have anything?"
"Anything."
"Ok, if I win…" Tony began to think "You'll buy me some material so I can turn my car into a DeLorean, like the one from Back to the Future."
"You're definitely your mama's son all right." Jade rolled her eyes in mock annoyance "You're both dorks."
"And damn proud of that." He laughs. ""So anyway mom, do we have a deal?"
"Sure… But right now, let's focus on your mama's birthday surprise."
"Lets."
"What did you get for her anyway Tony?"
"You'll just have to wait and see mom." He replied, a scrapbook protectively in his arms. "I just need you to take me to print something at Office Guy."
After picking up everyone and getting the presents and hiding them at Trina's house, Hade and Tony were printing something at Office Guy.
The former Goth was annoyed that her son wouldn't give her a clue on what exactly he was giving Tori on her birthday, all she knew was that he had done some "research" on what exactly to give his mama on her special day.
"You could have simply bought her something online." Jade suggested.
"Trust me mom that was pretty much the first thing I did." Tony replied "But eventually it came to me that we're rich! Material things are easy to get and equally easy to lose so I decided to give her something a lot more meaningful."
"And a piece of paper will do that?"
"It's more than just a piece of paper." Tony said, getting into his e-mail and printing exactly what he was looking for. "It's something that will make history on the West family."
"That's quite the narcissistic claim, son."
"Mom, I been quiet on my little surprise for months now and trust me, it hasn't been easy, Mama is gonna cry from joy at what I'm gonna show her later today."
"Like you're doing now?" Jade teased.
"I'm not!" Tony snapped; his voice cracking, a tear running down his cheek, he quickly washed it away. "I just have something in my eye."
Before Jade would tease him again, her cell phone went off, she looked at the caller I.D. seeing it was her wife, she made a "shh" gesture before answering "Hello, you reached Jade West phone, if this is her wife asking where I am, well I can only say that I'm busy but everything will be explained at 3 o clock at her sister's house, if Vega has anything to say you can leave a message after I say the F word in the way you like… FU…"
"Jade, don't you dare!" Tori bellowed, the thespian didn't need to see her to know that her wife was blushing furiously.
"What's up baby?"
"What's up is that today is my birthday and you weren't here to be the first thing I would see!"
"Oh but I heard you." Jade said evilly "Didn't know you had such naughty dreams about me Vega."
"Wha… What?"
"I'm so sexy that you have to do me even in dream land huh?"
"What the hell are you talking about Jade?!"
"You'll find out tonight when I give you my present." The Thespian said huskily "Just you… Me… and a little something I call find the whip cream."
"Can't wait." Tori squeaked.
"I know you won't." Jade says with a smirk "But unfortunately we gotta wait till tonight, in the meantime, be sure to be at your sister's house by three, wear something comfortable but not too comfortable."
"Huh?"
"You know what I mean, love you Vega."
"Love you too baby." Tori said "By the way, is Tony with you?"
"Yeah."
"Take him to the doctor."
The moment she hanged up, Jade wondered "Why would I….?"
Her question was answered when she saw her son a little green, her eyes twitching uncontrollably. "I'm … gonna puke."
"So dramatic… "Jade rolled her eyes "Come on Tony, let's get your mysterious piece of paper and get you some medicine."
Tori parked her car in front of her childhood home.
"Whatever Jade has planned, it better be good." She muttered "She would never be in the same room as Trina for long without threatening her with bodily harm… Ah, the joys of being married to a maniac."
The moment she knocked on the door, it eerily opened by itself, Tori however was unimpressed "Baby… the ghost door? Seriously? You really must be losing your touch."
"You suck Vega." Her wife's ominously calm voice came from everywhere "And I never lose my touch!"
"Prove me wrong then!"
She suddenly felt something grab her leg, and another and another until eventually she was being grabbed by who know what.
Finally, Jade turned on the lights and to the Latina's surprise and delight, she was being hugged by her wife, sister, daughters, son and grandson."
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA!" Dani and Tawny bellowed happily, holding their mother in a bear hug, something Tori returned in kind, crying as she held her grown daughters in her arms just as she did when they were little.
"Am I losing my touch?" Jade asked smugly.
"Umm… I'm still not impressed." Tori said which of course peeved off her spouse big time.
"Oh, you'll pay for that Vega."
"Grandma! Grandpa, hi!" Matt saluted his paternal grandparents with such innocence and enthusiasm that it made Jade getsfilled with such jealousy and rage.
"I can be calm… I can be calm… I can be calm!" She repeated mentally over and over, self-control was harder than she thought.
Tori in the meantime walked over to her grandson and held him in her arms "Well aren't you going to say hi to me little man?" She teased "After all, today's my birthday and I wouldn't want my grandson to forget about me."
"Today's your birthday abuelita?" "Matt gasped "I didn't get you a present!"
"You're here Matt." Tori chuckled hugging her firstborn grandchild "That's more than enough for me."
Tony watched the exchange "Prepare to eat your words out mama."
A few hours later after everything had calmed down, Tony was the only one who had not given Tori her present, and so after they ate the cake (much to the teenager's chagrin) he got a folder out and handed it to his mama.
"Feliz Cumpleaños mama." Tony says in Spanish.
Everyone was puzzled by the folder, usually Tony made a big spectacle out of his cooking on occasions such as there but no one was more intrigued than the Half-Latina herself, so without further ado, she opened it, she suspected it was something along the lines of a card or a ticket to a spa.
… She was not prepared by what she just read, her eyes widening as the size of saucers and slack jaw, after several moments she stared at her son.
"Is this real?"
"One hundred percent, mama."
"What's going on? Jade asked confused.
Without another word, Tori jumped from the couch, crying as she did so, running to hugged her youngest child "My baby boy!"
Jade raised an eyebrow, while it was normal for her wife to be overly emotional when it came to their son, whatever was in that piece of paper must have been of great value, so she grabbed it, and froze the moment she read all the way to bottom. "How is this possible?"
"Ah see mom, remember that family tree I did way back in elementary school?" Tony asked, still in the arms of his tanned mother.
"How could I forget?" Jade hissed "That stupid homework assignment almost got you killed!"
"Well… I made a little research, I mean… I wanted to find out more about who were my biological parents and one thing led to another and next thing I know, I find out that my biological mom Gwen... May she rest in peace... Is distantly related to my great aunt Sonya and by extension... You guessed it… Mama."
Tori still cried tears of joy as he held her son in her arms, for years she had envied Beck for holding something she had always wanted ever since Tony became a part of their lives and family.
… A blood connection to her son and now that she had one, the Half-Latina was as happy as she would ever be.
When Tony found that out, he of course mourned the mother he never got to know but if there was any type of comfort then maybe it was almost as if she had saved him from beyond the grave by handing him to the best parents he could ever ask for, but he also wanted to make sure that he really was related to his mama so he got two hairs for comparison, one from her and one from him and when the lab tests came back, he cried from joy.
Just as his mama was crying right now.
But Tony knew that even if the tests came back negative, it wouldn't have changed the fact that related to Tori or not she would always be his mama.
"Her look." Tori points at a nearby mirror "We have the same cheeks."
"You know what mama?" Tony says, inspecting his reflection "I think you're right."
"How come I never noticed this before?"
Tori only ended up hugging her child even more.
Jade rolled her eyes but joined in the hug, giving her wife soft kisses all over her face, after all, she loved seeing her happy.
She then gazed at their son.
"You're one exceptional kid, you know that?"
"You really are." Tori hiccupped "I love you so much Mijo."
"Me too mama."
As far as Tori was concerned, this was the best present she ever could've received.
She even hanged up the test results to prove it.
"An eternal reminder that my boy really is my boy."
I'm sure many of you wanna know whether or not Jade won the bet, I left that up to your imagination because… Why not?
The creature that lived in the refrigerator, behind the mayonnaise, next to the ketchup and to the left of the Cole slaw is a direct reference to the original "Garfield and Friends" cartoon, can you tell I'm a fan?
I told you all at the top that there was reason behind the connection between Tori and Tony, turns out that both mama and son are related after all and the fact that it's because of Tori's aunt Sonya will be explained later, trust me it's an important little fact.
I decided at the last minute that Tony and Tori should share cheeks, why? Because it's a running gag that people have asked Tori if they're real and it's something that could be "inherited" into the next generation.
Anyway... Wasn't this a sweet family moment?
Do tell me what you thought of the revelation; did any of you saw it coming?
Leave a review and let me know.
Finally, happy birthday Victoria Justice/Tori Vega!
