Since today's Father's Day, I thought I'd write something for the holiday, but you may be asking how since Jade and Tori are MOTHERS…. Oh, heh heh, wait and see, some of you might see this coming, some might not.

In the end, prepare to get a quite emotional chapter.

The phone rang.

Anthony West picked up at once, almost clumsily dropping it, once he saw who it was he quickly answered "Hi, doctor Martin?"

"Mr. West… Hello." The Doctor greeted.

Tony couldn't help but notice his somber tone, which in his mind hinted some very bad news.

"Don't jump to conclusions." He thought "Wait and see what the doc had to say."

"Mr. West?"

"Oh um, sorry, yes I'm here."

"Is your wife with you?"

"No, she isn't, she went out for a walk, she said she wanted some time alone." Tony replied "I can't exactly blame her, these have been some very difficult days."

"Understandable."

"Do you have some good news about the test results?" He asked "I hope."

"I have some news..." Doctor Martin replied "You might want to sit down for this."

An hour later Emily entered the apartment she shared with her husband, and to her surprise it was pitch black, she turned on the lights and saw Tony sitting on the couch, his hand over his eyes.

"Tony?"

No answer.

"Dude, you ok?"

Still no answer, which began to worry her.

"Princess?"

… Nothing.

Emily knew right then and there something was wrong, she was well aware that her husband disliked being called that and yet… He did nothing but remain still, like a statue, it was freaking her out.

"He didn't even yell at me to stop calling him that!" She thought concerned. "Something is definitely wrong here."

She tentatively sat down on the couch next to him.

"Tony?"

This time he did look at his wife and Emily noticed something.

"His eyes… They're red… Has… Has he been crying?"

"Hey." Tony shrugged "When did you come in?"

"Just now." Emily replied "Princess… What's going on?"

"I just talked to Doctor Martin."

Emily froze, the moment of truth was here and it seemed that she was about to receive the news she's been dreading for some time now. "He did? What… What did he say? ... Is it a problem with me? Or you?"

"Its actually both of us."

"Wha … What?"

"Apparently I have low motility and you… have an inhospitable environment."

"What… What does that mean?"

"It means… We can keep trying." Tony sniffed "But there's no guarantee that…"

"No! NO!" Emily got up from the couch "I refuse to believe that!"

"That's what the doctor said Em,"

"Well that doc is an idiot!" She snapped "We'll go to another doctor, a better one! One that knows what he's talking about!"

"Baby, we gone to three doctors here, they all told us the same thing!"

"Then we'll go to one in the States!" Emily cried out "I refuse to believe that we can't… can't… I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT."

Tony got up from the couch and grabbed his wife, trying to calm her down "Emily… Emily… EMILY!"

The blonde finally came back to reality, Tony had never raised his voice with such force, such conviction.

"Listen… Emily." He whimpered, she had not taken the news well, but hearing him then, Emily knew he probably was taking this a lot harder than her. "Em… We went to several places and they all told us the same thing… I don't like it any more than you do but… There's nothing we can do."

Emily finally broke down.

"Why, Tony?!" She cried "Why did it had to happen to us! It's not fair!"

"I know… I know." He said, tears running down his cheeks "But I promise you… If it's the last thing I do… We'll figure this out."

"Why can't we have a baby?!"

"Why can't we have a baby?!"

Those words kept ringing in his mind, the married couple retreated to their bedroom right after dinner, both emotionally drained from the evening's events, and while Emily managed to finally close her eyes, Tony was still wide awake, staring into the distraught face of his wife.

"No doubt she's having that dream again."

It killed him to watch her in so much pain.

He didn't know what to do, but he would be damned if he sat with his arms crossed and did nothing.

"We need to think of an alternative solution."

Incoming call.

Jade West was sitting in front of her desk, writing on her lap top, normally she would rather do her work in her "woman cave" for inspiration but at the moment, she felt like being close to her wife during this creative process.

Suddenly she got a notification, she smirked once she saw who it was from.

"Oh Vega!" She sang playfully "Guess what."

"Jade, whatever you want to tell me about your new horror script? I rather not know right now." Tori said, not looking up from her book. "I finally got nice and cozy after a long day and there's no force on this or any other planet that will get me out of this bed."

"Ok then." Jade shrugged "Guess you don't want to know who's calling then?"

"Not really, no."

"Are you sure?"

"Pretty sure baby."

"Ok then, guess I'll tell Tony you went to bed early."

"Tony?! He's calling?!" Tori asked back "Why didn't you say so?! Wat are you waiting for?! Don't just sit there! Answer the call!"

The Half-Latina leaps up from the bed, clumsily landing on her butt on the floor, much to her wife's amusement.

"Well Vega, didn't you say you were tired?"

"I'm never too tired to talk to our kids!" she said "Now answer the call!"

Jade did just that and soon both women were in front of the lap top staring at their son's face.

"Hey Mijo!"

"Hey Son."

"Hi Mom… Mama."

Jade and Tori noticed that his grim disposition, something that was atypical of their youngest child.

"Mijo, are you, all right?"

"No Mama." He replied somberly. "I'm not. Not by a long shot."

"What did Emily do?!" Tori raged, narrowing her eyes "Is she causing you trouble?"

"Mama, Emily didn't do a thing… If anything, its something we couldn't do."

"What do you mean?" Jade asked.

"Emily and I been trying to have a baby."

"Oh, Tony that's wonderful news." Tori cheered, she then picked p on what her son had said seconds ago. "Wait… Did you said you two haven't had the best of luck?"

Tony nodded, "We been trying for months."

"And how come we're just hearing about it?"

"Because we wanted to share with you guys and her parents the news the moment we were going to be sure we would be parents but now… I don't think that happening anytime soon."

"Why not Mijo?"

"We been going to a few doctors to find out why we haven't been able to conceive and…" Tony's lips trembled trying to tell his parents the rest. "We found out that there's a slim to none chance that Emily and I can have kids."

Tori had her hands over her mouth in shock, Jade on her part was processing what her son just revealed.

"Are you… Are you sure?"

"We went to three doctors already and they all told us the same thing… Yes, I'm sure mom."

"And, how did Emily react?"

"I never seen her so crushed and I hope never to see that again." Tony muttered, barely above a whisper. "It killed me seeing her like that."

Tori just wanted right then and there to be able to hold her son in such a difficult time in his life, inwardly cursing that he was on the other side of the world.

Jade similarly wanted to comfort her son.

"Mama?"

"Yeah Mijo?"

"Think I can talk to Mom?... Alone?"

Tori was taken aback by the request but said nothing, she simply nodded and walked out of the room.

"Why did you want your Mama out of the room?"

"Because I don't want her to hear our talk Mom." He said seriously "Promise me you won't say a word of what we're going to talk about."

"Whatever happens in this room, stays in this room."

"Good… Mom… Please be honest with me... Did you ever feel like you failed as a partner when you couldn't get Mama pregnant? Granted the situation is vastly different but you know what I'm saying, right?"

"I do." She sighed dejectedly "The moment I knew Tori was the one for me, I promised myself that I would always provide her with anything she needed, for better or for worse, I promised I would make sure she was happy every single day for the rest of our lives but the one thing she wanted… I couldn't give her by conventional means."

"A family."

"Yeah." Jade nodded "For a long time I felt like crap, seeing how other couples had kids of their own and your mama no doubt felt like her heart was being constricted, she never said a word, but I knew, you don't stay with someone for so long without picking on their body language and more, then… while I landed a gig on a TV show, we heard of a new procedure and… well… it didn't go like we had hope."

Neither mother nor son said anything, they both knew there was no need to go further down a painful and dark time in their family's past.

They however stayed silent for a minute.

"Then… Then what happened?"

"It took a while but your Mama was ready to try again but I was against it." Jade said somberly "I didn't want her to go through that pain again if the result was the same but this time we came across a scientist and his green son in law who claimed to have perfected a way to create life without the need of a male donor, they just needed volunteers and next thing we know, your mama got pregnant again with my DNA."

"And nine months later my sisters were born."

"It was among the best days of my life." Jade said "The day they were born we received the greatest gift two mothers would want, then years later you came along and our family grew, every day your Mama thanks me for parking the car too far from the restaurant, otherwise we never would have found you, after that, I come to believe that things happen for a reason, see what I'm telling you here Tony?"

"That if you and Mama could have kids then there's hope for us?"

The thespian nodded "Don't get discouraged, you and Emily may not be able to have kids the normal way, but that doesn't mean it's the end, you two may have to wait a while but I promise you Tony, the moment you guys have a little bundle of joy in your arms, it will be beyond anything you ever believed it was possible."

"Speaking from experience, are we?" A new voiced asked.

Jade and Tony were surprised for a moment, Emily walked right in front of the screen and sat down next to her husband, holding his hand.

"As a matter of fact, I am."

"I thought you were sleeping Em."

"I was but when I felt the bed empty I had to look for you, just to make sure you were still home."

"How much did you hear?"

"Enough to know that this isn't the end of the world for us."

"So, will you two be ok?" Jade asked.

"I think we will be." Emily replied. "There's still ways for us to have a baby."

Tony smiled.

"I think you two need some alone time to talk about what to do next."

"We could always adopt." The blonde suggested "I mean, think about it, we were both adopted so it makes perfect sense for us to do the same, give a baby not just a home, but a family."

"I think its fitting." Tony agreed. "We should definitely start looking into that."

"Then I wish you the best of luck." Jade said "And don't forget, anything you need, we're just a call a way."

"The hell we are!" A new voice hollowed, Tori entered their bedroom, two suitcases in hands. "Pack your bags Jade, we're going to France!"

"Vega?... How much did you hear?"

"Enough to know that our son needs us!" Tori snapped "I already bough the tickets and our plane leaves in a few hours! So, get that sexy butt of yours off that seat and get packing!"

Jade shrugged "Guess we'll see you sooner than expected."

"Looking forward to it Mom."

Nine months later:

After some time and effort, Tony and Emily finally had their children, both husband and wife adopted two little baby girls, who in their eyes were nothing less than perfect.

Jade, Tori, Alan and Chad were also there to meet their grandchildren.

"Mom, Mama." Tony said cheerfully, holding one of his daughters in his arms. "I would like you to meet your granddaughters "This is Victoria West."

"And over here." Emily cried holing her other daughter "Over here we have Jadelyn West."

"You named your children after us?" Tori asked with tears in her eyes.

"Why not?" Tony said "You two were, are the best parents I could have asked for and I think my daughters should be named after the two women who raised me, and I hope I would be just as good as you."

"You're going to be better." Jade said emotionally. "Welcome to parenthood Tony and Emily, I'm sure you're going to be great parents to little Jade and little Tori."

"I'm a father." Tony thought, looking down at his arms and into the eyes of his daughter who stared back with such innocence. "Mom was right… This is beyond anything I ever thought possible."

Happy Father's Day, Tony is now a father, told you all this was an emotional chapter.

This was actually inspired by an episode of "Friends" where Chandler and Monica find out they can't have kids as well as an old episode of "The Simpsons" entitled "I Married Marge."

I focused on Jade and Tony having a talk since in this world, Jade is the one who holds the pants in the family and thus the closest thing Tony has to a father, the fact that they both went through such similar pains highlights this as well.

I also decided to have Tony and Emily adopt twins since I had in mind for a long time that they would have daughters and naming them after Jade and Tori seemed like the perfect way to empathize just how much his parents they mean to him.

Nice, no?

Anyway, do tell me what you thought of this chapter, good? Bad? Decent?
