Nothing much to say other than I apologize for not updating for quite a while but I been busy with other projects but to thank you all for being patient, here's a new chapter and I'll be updating yet again sometime this week.

Now, for this chapter you will all find out why our favorite Latina is always so overprotective of her only son…. As we all know, when Jade and Tori found Tony; he was no more than a day old, both women were nothing short of horrified that someone would be so heartless as to leave a baby in the trash.

Fair warning; Tori will never be the same again after this.

"Why am I here again, Tori?"

"Because you promised to help me with some errands."

"I did no such thing!" Trina hissed. "You told me there was an opening in Jade's new movie and that you could get me a part in it if I did a little favor for you but I didn't expect that favor to include wazzing myself!"

"Well I needed a distraction!" Her sister exclaimed "As soon as you help me donate these boxes full of things that neither my wife nor daughters use anymore, I promise I'll convince Jade to let you have a part in her film."

"You better."

"I do appreciate the help Treen." Tori said sincerely "I been trying to get rid of some of these things for years but go figure that my family IS full of pack rats! They wouldn't let me throw anything away so I needed you to distract them by being annoying… You know… How you used to be while I took everything to the car."

"I don't know whether I should praise your sneakiness or be offended at calling me annoying." Trina huffed "Living with Jade has made you think outside the box but she also provided you with a sharp tongue, you know I don't appreciate the thought of my talent going to waste."

"Whatever you say Treen."

Meanwhile Tony was babbling away in his car-seat, chewing on his blue blanket, little by little he began to close his eyes, getting drowsy until finally sleep came, holding onto a pink teddy bear that he somehow managed to get out of the box.

"Aww, my nephew is so cute!" Trina gushed while she took a quick glance at the baby. "I'm glad you decided to bring him on this little excursion of yours, I hardly get to see him."

"I know," Tori said proudly. "And I dunno how he keeps doing it, but every time I put that bear in its cardboard box, it keeps finding its way into Tony's little hands."

"He's a little Houdini." Trina chuckled "But come to think of it, I don't remember you or Jade getting that bear… So, where did it come from?"

Tori's knuckles turned white due to pressing onto the wheel with such force. "Holly." She hissed.

"Oh... Right."

"Yeah, she gave the twins that stupid bear as a peace offering years ago." Tori growled "She was trying to buy my daughters love; can you believe that Trina?!"

"I can." She agreed "But had it ever occurred to you that Holly really is trying to make amends?"

"Even if that was the case, what right did she have to try and be a sweet grandmother when she was such a terrible mother?!" Tori snapped out contemptuously. "After Danielle and Tawny outgrew playing with stuffed animals, that stupid bear was left forgotten in the attic until I decided to clean it, I'll be glad to be rid of it once and for all to be honest."

"I don't know Tor…" Trina mussed "From the looks of it, Tony seems very attached to that toy bear."

"I'll buy him another one." Tori replied "One that doesn't have any connection to Holly."

After several minutes of driving in an uneasy silence, the sisters pulled into the parking lot and into a spot right up front of a Donation Center.

"Ok Sis, here's how it's going to go down, you go in, anonymously donate some of these boxes full of stuff, you come back to the car and then we'll make an alibi saying we took Tony to the park." Tori instructed. "Jade and the girls will be none the wiser about me cleaning out the attic."

"I dunno Tor… This just doesn't seem right to me." Trina said "I mean, you're practically giving away part of your family's past."

"But it's hardly of any use now." Tori said "I mean, look at some of this stuff…" She got something out of one box. "Jade keeps telling me how much she hates these boots since they never hurt her feet and yet she doesn't want to throw them away, then there's this…" Tori got something else out of another box. "Danielle never liked this cute little pink blanket I bought her when she was born but she just cried every time I tried to cover her with it! And look over here! This was the first book I used to read to Tawny when she had nightmares."

"The Lion and the Mouse?"

"She used to think the mouse was so cute." Tori chuckled sadly "Now she's terrified of them."

"What this I see?" Trina teased getting a doll out of a box. "Could it be? Why yes, it is, Cuddle Me Cathy!"

"Hey! How did she get in there?" Tori wondered "I was sure I left her in… Oh Jade you evil genius!"

"What?"

"She knew that I been trying to get rid of some things in the attic for years." Her sister explained "So of course she would put Cuddle Me Cathy in one of the boxes to get even and I would unknowingly be giving her away… Smart, but not smart enough."

"Hey Tor, there a note attached to its back."

True to her sister's words, there was a note taped in the doll's dress, Tori removed it and began to read.

Vega, if you're reading this then you found your damn doll… Good for you, but guess what? This also means I know you took everything out of the attic, how you ask? I know you, you're not as sneaky as you think… I seen our son playing with that pink bear so put everything back in the attic or so help me I'll make sure you never get to see my naked ass again and so you know I'm being serious, I also took the liberty of hiding all my sexy clothes that are for your eyes only…. You're not the only one who can take away something the other is quite fond of."

"Oh, come on!" Tori said. "My wife is just plain evil!"

"What else is new?"

Before Tori could say anything, a big turtle dropped from the sky and right into the car's hood making both women yell out in surprise.

… Luckily, Tony was a deep sleeper and simply cuddled with the teddy bear, cooing in his sleep, blissfully unaware of what just happened.

Both sisters got out of the car closing the doors afterwards to make sure nothing would get it, considering what just dropped from the sky, that was a good idea.

"What just happened?!" Trina bellowed, freaking out. "Since when can turtles FREAKING FLY?!"

"They don't." Tori said bluntly. "From the looks of it, this turtle might have been the latest kill from an eagle or some other predatory bird and possibly dropped it by accident, we're lucky it didn't land on the glass or it would have broken it from the force."

Trina looked at her sister oddly.

"What?"

"Its scary that you know this."

"I'm married to Jade." Tori shrugged "Scary is normal, there is nothing that can terrify me after years with my lovely wife."

"I don't doubt that." Trina commented. "So, what do we do about this dead turtle?"

"Simple, we remove it from my car." The younger woman replied. "We just use something to you know… Move it… I am not touching that thing all."

"Ditto on that."

After a few minutes, Tori found a stick near her car and began to use it to roll the dead animal from the hood of her vehicle.

"This is so gross." Trina said. "I think I'm going to be sick."

"Don't be so overdramatic Treen." Tori rolled her eyes. "Let's just go… My plan went up in smokes, so there's no point in trying to donate what's in the boxes." She turned back to her car and made to open up the door. However the door didn't budge; it was locked.

"What the…?" Tori frowned, pulling harder on the door handled.

"What's the matter?"

"You got to be kidding me…" Tori muttered, her eyes slowly widening in horror. "NO NO NO NO! I locked my keys in the car!"

"Are you serious?"

"DON'T ASK STUPID QUESTIONS TRINA!" Tori bellowed "Of course I'm serious! Tony's in there! I wouldn't joke about something like that!" She peered into the back window, where her son was still fast asleep, cuddling with the teddy bear, she also noticed the discarded pink blanket on top of him. "My baby boy!"

"Okay, Tor, don't panic."

"A little too late for that!" Tori hissed. "I gotta get in there! Quick! Gimme one of your heels so that I can break the window!"

"What?! NO!" Her sister snapped "Tori, think it through! Breaking the glass would only make thing worse! Take a deep breath and calm down!"

"I can't help it Trina! In case you haven't noticed I locked us out of my car!" She snapped. "My son is trapped in there! This is by far the most careless thing I ever done! What kind of a mother am I?!"

"You're a damn good one!" She said reassuringly "You didn't notice what the keys when we got out of the car…"

"WELL, I SHOULD HAVE!"

"Everyone makes mistakes Tori." Trina says. "This is not your fault, so let's look at the positive side of this."

"WHAT POSITIVE SIDE?!"

"Well for starters, Tony's not in any real danger since the air conditioner is on, so he's not going to be uncomfortable, if anything I think he's cozy with the blanket.

"Are you saying he might get cold?!"

The younger woman began to pull harder on the door.

"Tori!" Her sister snapped "Stop doing that, pulling on the door is not going to magically get it open!"

"Why didn't I think of it before?" She muttered "Trina, open that lock right now!"

"I'm sorry?"

"You heard me!" Tori replied evenly "I know you can open locks! I've seen you do it countless times when I put who knows how many locks on my closet so you wouldn't get my clothes without my permission! So go ahead! UNLOCK MY CAR!"

"That was different!" Trina retorted "You got a five dollar lock for your closet; this is a security system on your car!"

"Well, TRY!"

"Even if I could, I don't exactly have the tools to do anything!" Trina shouted back. "Look, Tori I understand, believe me I do but you're not helping yourself or Tony by freaking out!"

"But what if he gets hungry?" Tori asked shakily. "Or needs a new diaper. What if he wakes up and doesn't see me! He could get scared that he's in the car all by himself and I can't do anything about it!"

"Don't you or Jade have back-up keys in case of emergencies?"

"Yeah,"

"There you go." Trina smiled. "Just call your wife, explain what happened, and she can bring the extra keys."

"I guess that's a good a plan as any," She said, her voice still quivering.

"I'm more than just a pretty face sis."

"The sooner I make the call, the better." Tori said. "I just hope that Jade's not too busy; when she's in the writing zone she shuts out the world and…."

The tanned woman abruptly stopped talking as she touched her side pocket… Her phone wasn't there; she peered into the driver's window to see her fear confirmed.

"Shit! My phone is in the car!" She bellowed "It's inside my purse!"

"Don't worry, we can use mine!"

"Great idea! Except that yours is in there too! I can see it on the cup holder! How can we call for help now?"

"Well we can…."

"I'm the worst mother in the world!" Tori ranted, walking back and forth worriedly but never looking away from her sleeping child. "What careless idiot locks her own son in the car?! Oh right, THIS idiot!"

"Tori, TORI!, don't be so hard on yourself," Trina said gently, holding her shaking sister. "Everything's going to be all right; I can just go into the donation center and ask to make a quick call. You stay out here and keep an eye on Tony, if anyone sees you then the paparazzi will come and all hell will break loose."

"All hell already broke loose." Tori shot back helplessly. "Go and call Jade and tell her to hurry, please."

"I will." She replied gently, giving her sister a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder. "Don't worry; you'll be holding him in a few minutes."

Tori said nothing to that; she just turned to the window to look back in at Tony while her sister ran off inside the building. Much to her relief, the infant was still asleep.

"I'm so sorry, Mijo."

She was so close and yet so far to her son, Tori had never felt so helpless in her entire life.

She had never felt so terrified.

Ring, Ring.

Ring, Ring.

Ring, Ring.

"All Right! All Right! I'm coming!"

Jade ran towards her bedroom, holding a towel, water dripping from her hair and body, once in she picked up her phone "Hello?!"

"Jade? My god! You took forever to answer the phone!"

"Bite me Trina." The Thespian snapped back "I was taking a shower, I felt dirty after going along with your lame ass acting or whatever the hell that was!"

"So not the time Jade!" Her sister in law said annoyed "Listen to me, I need you to bring Tori's spare car keys, there's been an incident with a turtle and the car, long story short my sister's freaking out because she can't get back in and Tony can't get out."

Jade's heart skipped a beat. "… You mind repeating that Trina?"

"You heard me." The older woman said. "My sister unintentionally left her keys in the car and we're locked out, Tony's ok though, he's in the air conditioner and sleeping, but you better come with the spare keys before he wakes up and Tori is forced to do something she might regret."

"Where are you two?"

In a Donation Center near the Central Park."

"I'm on my way."

She hanged up and started getting ready.

"Hey Mom." Danielle said entering her parents' bedroom "I was wondering if you want to… Whoa! Almost direct hit!"

She had just missed a blouse flying nearby and almost messing up her hair.

"What's going on?"

"Tell you later." Jade said quickly putting on a shirt and a pair of pants, jumping up and now for a few seconds and after she was fully clothed the Thespian grabbed her wife's spare car keys and ran out the door.

"I'll be back soon!" She shouted at her daughter "And tell your sister no boys allowed while I'm out!"

In record time Jade made it to the donation center, conveniently finding an empty space next to her wife's car, as soon as she got out of her vehicle; Jade jumped, surprised since the Latina got in her personal space.

"Do you have the key?" Tori asked quickly "Did you bring it?"

"Here they are," Jade nodded. "Just let me look in my purse and…"

But Tori quickly snatched her wife's purse to look inside for the infernal key, when she didn't see it because of all the stuff inside, she turned the purse upside down and everything was discarded all over the parking space but she didn't care, all that was in Tori's mind was her baby boy and how something as simple as a key was keeping her apart from him.

Once she saw what she was looking for, Tori raced back over to her car. She quickly unlocked it and pulled her youngest child out of his car-seat.

"Tony!" The Latina exclaimed worriedly, hugging her son close to her. "Oh Mijo, I'm so, so sorry! You okay? This would be the perfect time for you to learn to talk and tell me if anything hurts."

Tony, who had slept through the entire ordeal, was none the wiser of the trauma his Mama had gone through, he simply cooed, still holding onto the teddy bear but he slowly started to wake up and sleepily he stared up at his mothers, letting out another soft coo.

"I think he's fine, Vega."

"I locked him in the car, Jade." Tori snapped. "He's anything but fine!"

"Tor, he was sleeping the whole." Jade said soothingly, massaging her wife's back before holding her close. "Not to mention you had the good judgment to leave the air conditioner on."

"But not enough good judgment to make sure I could get back in the car." Tori said bitterly.

Trina entered the parking lot, looking a bit worried "Uh, Jade?"

"What?"

"I think I need your help."

"Why?" The thespian asked suspiciously "What did you do?"

"I may have spoken a bit too loudly and some people might have overheard what I told you over the phone."

"Stop!" Jade ordered "I see where you're going with this, just tell me who I need to give the evil eye to so they'll know to keep their mouth shut."

"Uhh… Everyone inside?"

"I'll be right back." Jade grunted, she started to walk towards the building but not before holding her wife close to her. "Vega… Look at me."

Tori raised her eyes to gaze at her wife.

"Never, think you're not an amazing mother." Jade said seriously. "This could have happened to anyone, you're only human, we all make mistakes."

"But Tony could have been in danger." Tori said shakily "All because of a stupid turtle and not realizing I left the keys in… If I had turned the car off… What then?"

"But you didn't." Jade replied, raising her wife's chin. "And you know why?"

"No."

"Because you love our son and would do anything for him." She said. "You left the air conditioner on because you subconsciously knew it was the right thing to do… You gave him a toy bear so he would feel safe and with blankets to feel warm and if I'm not mistaken, you were about ready to try and tear that door down to hold him in your arms, see where I'm going with this? One little mistake doesn't make you a terrible mother, is what you do for our children that make you an amazing one!"

"I don't feel so amazing right now." Tori said meekly.

"But you are." Jade said soothingly before giving her a kiss on the lips and a kiss on the forehead for their son, which he responded to by cooing. "I'll be right back... I gotta make sure that what happened doesn't end up all over the internet."

The thespian went inside.

"Jade's right you know." Trina said walking over to her sister. "Don't be so hard on yourself."

But Tori didn't listen; all she did was stare at her son, who was in her arms, so innocent and carefree, playing with the teddy bear.

"Trina?"

"Yeah Tori?"

"Can you drive my car?"

"Uh sure… Why?"

"I don't want to be near it for a while… Or ever."

Tori held her son closer to her heart, unshed tears in her eyes, this had been the most terrifying hour of her life and she wished to forget this day but Tori knew that wasn't going to happen so instead she decided to learn from it.

… For her son's safety.

"I'll make sure this never happens again… I promise... Anthony."

Probably not the most satisfactory ending for this chapter but not all stories have a "happy ending" Tori was quite traumatized by what took place and never forgot how she felt that day, it was the very first time she felt fear for her son's safety but not the last which explains why she is so overprotective of her son and while Jade's words were meant to be comforting, they did little to sooth Tori's mind.

On another note, the pink bear and blanket are important, trust me on that.

Well… See you next time, hopefully the next update won't take long to do.
