"So Tate, not a bad cover job you got." At this statement the initial carefree, happy smile and big eyes to a small smirk and danger written in his eyes. Kai looked at him with a emotionless face but hid his amusement well of his rather fast nature change and just replied with a smirk. Only difference was that this smirk was much more dangerous and screamed of authority.

Max was not able to complete his sentence as he was cut off by Kai. "I did not come her to listen to your stupid banter and waste my time." "I came here to tell you to contact the other bladebreakers and tell them that there is one urgent job to be done." With that Kai took out some money, kept it on the table and left quickly leaving no room for negotiations.
Should have guessed that Max thought and sighed. However, what caught his attention was the fact that Kai had a mission for which he wanted the whole bladebreakers group. It was not like Kai to willingly work with someone other than himself. So its was obvious that this was a mission in which he required our help.
Well better tell the others about it thought Max excited at finally getting out of this place and working again.
