Energy+300

Kokomi let out her loudest yawn. She had spent the entire morning organizing documents and requests for her citizens. For the priestess, this is standard, everyday work; however, to the average person, Kokomi is taking in far too much than she could handle to the point where she could collapse.

But the tactician is better than that and she knows it. She had already prepared a means to regain the energy she has been using up, but all she needs to do is finish the last stack.

"And there…" Kokomi said as she sealed the remaining paperwork into the necessary file. She breathed out a deep sigh of relief as she sat down on the chair, yawning loudly, "Finally…I can rest…"

"Your Excellency?" A voice called, "There you are."

Kokomi knew that energetic yet friendly voice from anywhere. She turned to her trusted general, Gorou, and smiled, "Hello, Gorou. Is there something you need?" She noticed that he had a hot drink in his hand.

"I just came to check up on you. I haven't seen you since last night and-" Gorou noticed the bags under Kokomi's eyes, "Oh, no, you were up all night again, weren't you?"

"Huh?" Kokomi noticed how awful her face looked in a mirror before muttering to herself, "Oh I did do it again…"

"Don't worry, Your Excellency, I brought just the thing to help," Gorou said as he handed Kokomi the hot drink, "It's a special blend of herbal green tea. It should keep you from falling over until we get you to bed."

"Thank you, Gorou…" Kokomi said, accepting the drink.

"Be careful though, it's hot," Gorou said.

Taking his warning to heart, Kokomi slowly and carefully drank the tea. Afterward, she did not feel as awful as she was before. She still wanted to sleep, but she would prefer to do it inside her palace.

"I'm sorry I troubled you with this again, Gorou," Kokomi said, "I know I shouldn't be taking on so much work, but…"

Gorou shook his head at her, "Helping our people live better lives is nothing to apologize for. I do wish you would allow me to shoulder some of that burden, but you know me and paperwork…"

Kokomi giggled, "I also had to run a check on all the documentation for the goods Watatsumi is trading along with letters from the Shogun I need to reply to."

Gorou shuttered at the thought of all that work, "The fact that you're still standing is nothing short of a miracle. I…" He paused to correct himself, "…we are all lucky to have you."

"It is all in the service of Watatsumi and her people." Kokomi let out another yawn, "I…always strive to do my utmost best."

"Kokomi…" Gorou whispered as he walked up to her, "Would you like for me to carry you to the palace?"

"Hm…" Kokomi's mind was beginning to black out to the point where Gorou's words became hard to listen to, "I…need more energy…"

Gorou smiled as he nodded, "Okay, I'll get you to a warm bed as soon as possible."

But before Gorou could move to pick her up, he heard words he never thought he would hear from Kokomi's mouth.

"No…I…want…you…Gorou…" Kokomi muttered as her eyes blinked in and out.

Gorou's mind went blank for a moment before looking down at her, "Your Excellency?"

"…I…want…you here…" Kokomi whispered.

Seeing Kokomi in this trance began to send worrying signals in Gorou's mind, but knowing that Kokomi didn't get sleep is a much better relief than any worse possibility for her daze.

"I'm here, Your Excellency," He took hold of Kokomi's soft hand. It was at that moment that Gorou realized how warm and comforting the hands of the priestess were, not to mention small. He looked up at Kokomi's face to see her smiling a little. Such a smile brought comfort to his mind, knowing that as long as he was there, she would be happy.

"You always look after us, even during the war, but what about yourself?" Gorou whispered as he inched closer to her, "All the responsibilities passed onto you…a priestess, a tactician, and now the entirety of our people. Regardless of all that, you're still trying your hardest to make everyone feel safe. I've always admired that about you." Gorou was not aware of what he was doing, but he was leaning into Kokomi, "Not just admire…it's what made me love you, Kokomi. I…I…"

Kokomi's mind began to return as her eyes began to flutter open. Before she knew it, the priestess was met with the touch of Gorou's lips connecting with her own. Her irises shrunk, her hands twitch, and her heart beat rapidly. This was the first time the tactician felt her mind go completely blank. She didn't know how long the kiss lasted until she felt Gorou's lips part from hers.

"I love you." He whispered.

Kokomi didn't know how to respond. She had no way of preparing for a scenario of Gorou kissing her. "G-G-Gorou…?"

Upon realizing what he had just done, Gorou's irises became near impossible to see with how much they shrunk. His face heated up after he had processed his actions and looked at Kokomi's reaction. Instinctively, he pulled down his ears and turned away from her.

"F-Forgive me, Your Excellency! I-I don't know what came over me!" He shouted, wanting to desperately get on his knees in front of her to beg for her forgiveness, but he did not dare to face her.

"Wh-why did you…kiss me just now?" Kokomi's mind raced so fast that it was becoming difficult for the tactician to properly assess everything. She wants to take things slow, but her heart and mind are forcing her to rush.

"I-I promise it wasn't out of ill intent," Gorou tried to explain, "I…I was just focused on thinking of a way to make you feel better again…and I guess I got emotional."

A moment of silence followed. For both of them, it felt like ages had passed when it has only been two minutes.

Feeling awful for what he has done, Gorou moved to leave, "I-I'm sorry, Your Excellency. I'll resign from the army right now." But before he could leave, Gorou felt a hand grab hold of his, stopping him in his place. He turned back to see Kokomi, who had gotten up from her seat and ran to him to stop him. The general's mouth gaped open at the pink-haired girl's sudden action. He wanted to ask why she was stopping him, but he was too ashamed to say anything.

"Gorou…you have nothing to be ashamed of," Kokomi said as she looked up into his eyes. Seeing her general turn his gaze from her in shame, she used her free hand to pull on his cheek to guide his gaze back to her, "Please look into my eyes. You know how much it pains me to see you like this. Gorou…you said you loved me. No person would say that so casually…unless they truly felt it."

Gorou took in a deep, mental breath to clear the air in his mind before he spoke, "Astute as always, Your Excellency. Yes, I am in love with you. I…I love how reliable you are, how smart you are, how beautiful you are…how…well…EVERYTHING!" Gorou winced a little, realizing he had raised his voice to her.

Kokomi closed her eyes, trying to keep herself calm. Every compliment her general tells her had added more energy—far more than she was used to receiving.

The tactician opened her eyes again and let out a smile, "And because of that, you took the Divine Priestess's first kiss?"

Gorou felt his heart drop at the reality of his actions, but he was not the kind to cower in the face of his guilt. He nodded. "Yes…I did. I was selfish, wasn't I?"

Kokomi shook her head as she leaned closer to him, "I think that was the bravest thing you have ever done for me, Gorou, and it was the first time you've ever caught me off guard. I don't like that feeling, but it makes me happy to see you take the initiative on things besides war."

"So…does that mean…?" Gorou asked.

"I'm feeling much better now after that kiss, Gorou," Kokomi said as she held his hands, "Thank you."

Gorou couldn't contain the bashful smile that followed afterward. He let out a chuckle, "You're very welcome, Your Excellency."

"However…" Kokomi's gaze turned to the ground as her face heated up, "I need a way to use up all this energy I have now."

"E-energy?" Gorou asked, realizing what she means by that, "Wait…how much energy did I give you?"

"…About…three hundred."

"Th-th- th- th- th- th- th- th-"

"Don't panic, Gorou! Don't panic!" Kokomi gestured to her blushing general to calm down, "This will be no problem because I have much more work to do today. The energy will be down to the single digit by tonight."

"Are you sure you'll be able to use it all by then, Your Excellency?" Gorou asked.

"Well…I've never had this much energy before, so I can't say for absolute certain," Kokomi said.

"Even so, it wouldn't be right for you to have to work yourself to the bone on my account. If there's any way I can help, please tell me."

Kokomi closed her eyes to think of a solution to the dilemma. An idea came to her, though it was a risky one. "…I…want you to keep going."

Gorou's eyes widened. For a moment, he felt like he heard something off, "Forgive me for saying this, Your Excellency, but…could you repeat that?"

"I want you, Gorou, to continue," Kokomi said, "The kiss, I mean."

"C-c-c-continue? Here?! Now?!" Gorou asked, his face turning hot as a kettle.

Kokomi nodded and began her explanation, "The last time, you kissed me. I didn't put any effort on my part, and thus I only received energy. But if we do this right, I should be able to use more energy than I gain this time around."

"Are…" Gorou wanted to question her line of thinking, but he's trusted Kokomi for as long as he could remember. Besides, he would be lying if he said he didn't want to kiss her again. He wanted to so bad and now he has the chance of a lifetime, "So…are you ready?"

"Always," Kokomi said.

Not wasting any time, Kokomi wrapped her arms around Gorou's neck as she felt his hands circle her waist.

"Before we start, Your Excellency…" Gorou whispered, "I hope this moment we share makes you the happiest girl in the world."

"I feel the same to you, Gorou," Kokomi whispered back as she caressed his tan hair, "Of all the people to steal my first kiss and my heart, I'm glad it was you."

Their lips locked with one another once again. Only this time, they both embraced each other. Gorou pulled the priestess closer to him as his hand caressed her bright pink hair. His chest felt as warm yet soft as a winter blanket. Their bodies pressed together heatedly as Gorou began pushing her until Kokomi's balance shifted in contact with the desk.

Gorou lifted her so she could sit on the desk before continuing. The softness of Kokomi's lips was too addicting to the general. He pressed further and further, feeling Kokomi's desire to push as well. They slowly separated and stared into each other's eyes.

"Gorou…I think it's working," Kokomi said with a smile.

"Kokomi…" Gorou whispered as he leaned forward. Kokomi's eyes widened as she had to lean back until she could only see the ceiling and Gorou's face hovering over her. "Again…I don't know what's gotten into me. I…"

"No need to explain, Gorou. If I want you to stop I will tell you," Kokomi reassured.

"As long as you're alright with this…with me."

Kokomi nodded. "I am." She then giggled. "Besides, I never knew how cute you would look having me of all people backed up against a corner like this."

"I know you better than anyone on this island, Your Excellency," Gorou said, "You would have at least five plans hidden up your sleeve to get yourself out of this, or I might as well give up my vision."

Kokomi wrapped her arms around Gorou's neck again, "Saw through me, but you're too late."

It was her turn to counterattack. She pulled Gorou in for more, and this time, she was on the offensive despite the position she was on the table. The tactician could hear the surprise muffled scream of his general before it turned into calm moans. His lips tried to regain the lost ground, but Kokomi doesn't plan on giving him an inch as she pressed her kiss onto him. Gorou never saw it coming, just as she planned. The priestess proceeded to rub her general's fluffy ears while they continued.

It was a long, heartfelt session between the two vision bearers. Despite this being their first kiss, they were performing flawlessly, as if they were professional actors. However, their love was real and it was here to stay.

"I want to be with you forever, K-Kokomi," Gorou whispered after they've used up all their energy.

"Gorou…" Kokomi whispered, feeling exhausted from all the energy she spent.

"I know…it is wrong for me to be this selfish, but…" Gorou took her hands into his, "Being your trusted general isn't enough. I…I want to be your lover for as long as I live!"

Kokomi smiled as she kissed her companion on the cheek, "…I'm so grateful to have someone like you in my life, Gorou. I wish to stay with you too…for as long as the gods may allow."

Gorou returned his smile as he wrapped her in a warm, loving hug, "Thank you! Thank you so much, Kokomi! I promise I won't let you down!"

The priestess let out a giggle as she leaned her head against Gorou's fluffy hair, "You never have, Gorou, and I know you never will."

Much later, Gorou bridal-carried a sleeping Kokomi to her palace like a strong warrior carrying his true love to safety. Gorou lamented on the fact he isn't as tall or strong as Itto, but...

Kokomi wouldn't love him any other way, and that makes him the happiest man in the world.

Bonus:

Little did Gorou know that Kokomi actually lied about her energy being at three hundred. She just wanted Gorou and her to continue kissing.
