Guardian Angels
On the Moonbase, Abby is sitting in her chair. She has been commanding troops in the war for two years now. Though they have made headway, it still feels like a war the Kids Next Door will win by attrition. Fanny comes into the room out of breath.
"Numbuh 5, I have some news for you. It's from Hoagie." She says as she pulls out a transmitter and as she activates it, the Air Berets appear. Abby sheds tears of joy having not seen her boyfriend in so long.
"Hoagie."
"Hi, Abby. I have some news for you. Galactic has been completely cleared from the Middle East." He explains.
"Well that's ONE less problem they'll have there." Abby says sarcastically.
"I understand vy you say zat, Abigail. But you'll be happy to know our next mission in Moscow, vich vill hopefully another great success." Henrietta says.
"I'm listening, Heiny."
"Ve vill rain cow dung on ze adult holdouts in Moscow and any other parts of Russia." She explains.
"Where are y'all gonna get enough cow shit to fight off entire holdouts scattered throughout Russia?" Abby asks in a confused and surprised tone.
"Lotta farms in Eastern Europe, Numbuh 5." Tommy says.
"Well whatever you say, little man. Whatever you guys need, I'll support it." Abby says.
"Thanks, Numbuh 5." Tommy says.
Turning off the hologram, she lets out a sigh before flopping down in her chair. She looks over to see Fanny rushing towards her with a file that says, Guardian Angels.
"What is this?" Abby asks curiously.
"Trust me, ma'am. You'll want to read this." Fanny says.
"Oh my Lord." Abby reads the first page of the file and gets bug eyed. "86, get a ship ready. We're gonna pay Betty Gillian a visit."
In the Gilligan household, Betty was cleaning up her house when she heard a knock at the door.
"Well if it isn't Abigail Lincoln and… oh my gosh, Fanny Fulbright? I haven't seen you in years. How are you?" Betty asks, happy to see them both.
"I'm good Mrs. Gilligan. Um… can we ask ye something?" Fanny asks.
"Well of course, come on in." Betty invites them in. "Can I get you girls something?"
"No, we're good for now. But uh… there's something we need to ask you… Numbuh 0071." Abby states, causing Betty to stop what she's doing and turn around to look at her.
"How long have you known?" She asks in surprise.
"Numbuh 86, if you please." Fanny puts the Guardian Angels file on Betty's coffee table.
"I was wondering when this would be brought back to my attention." Betty says.
"You knew about this?" Abby asks.
"I'm assuming you girls didn't read past me being AND. This was Numbuh 0's contingency plan, should we need to help with a global crisis." Betty explains. "I won't lie, I thought Hoagie or Nigel would be the ones to find it." She then pushes a button under her table, and a hole opens up in the wall next to them, revealing a Recommissioning Module. "Read the rest of the file, and you'll see who we need to recommission. And while you do that, I have some phone calls to make." The girls read through the rest of the files as Betty makes phone calls.
Eventually, the doorbell rings and Betty answers it. Sophie and Sydney Beatles, Genki Sandban, Monty and Katherine Uno, and Dr. Julian Lincoln all come in.
"You said this was important, Betty?" Genki questions.
"Abigail, what brings you here?" Julian asks.
"Daddy, there's something we gotta talk about. But first, we need y'all to look at this." Abby answers as Betty points the Recommissioning Module at them.
"What an… interesting device." Genki says.
"Well.. things are about to get MORE interesting, Genki." Betty says. She then hits all the adults with the Recommissioning Module. They all let out screams as all their memories from their time in the Kids Next Door come flooding back.
"Wow, I haven't felt this weird since the Ice Cream Men invented Strawberry Taser Pops." Julian says, much to Abby's joy.
"Dad? Oh my lord, you ARE Numbuh 0051." Abby leaps with joy.
"Reporting for duty." Julian salutes.
"Numbuh 0071? How is this possible? I remember everything." Genki is confused when Monty steps in.
"I take it that you two ladies found the Guardian Angel file?" Monty asks the girls who both nod yes. Monty then turns his attention to Betty. "Numbuh 0071, you've done a great service by bringing us all here. I'm sure Numbuh 0031 would be proud of that."
"Thank you Numbuh 0. But we can talk about him later. Right now Numbuhs 5 and 86 need our help." Betty explains.
Over the course of two hours, Abby and Fanny catch the adults up to speed on everything that has happened within the past couple years. The reactions range from pride in their children's abilities to worry about their safety to depression on how they got to where they were.
"I just can't believe that your brother could corrupt such a good girl like Cree into a monster. I just wish I could see her again. It's not the same without her around." Julian says, hanging his head in sorrow.
"I wish I could've done more to prevent Ben from being like our dad." Monty says.
"Well that motherfucker better learn not to hurt my baby. Or he'll learn real quick why you don't fuck with Momma Bear." Sophie says, clenching her fists.
"Numbuh 5's startin to see where Numbuh 4 gets his fightin skills." Abby says to Fanny.
"Well he didn't get 'em from his uncle. That's for damn sure." Sydney says. "Of all the ways to become a Villain and he met a fucking toilet God. How pathetic."
"Well there's always one black sheep in the family, I guess. But I think now is the time to discuss the plans for infiltration of the Earth Villains." Betty comments.
"I have access to the office of Mr. Boss. I can listen in on the conversations and we can figure out what to do from there. When we figure out what he is planning, that's when we…" Genki stops when she remembers that Fanny is in the room. "Listen, if this makes you uncomfortable, feel free to stop me."
"It's okay. I've accepted that it's a possibility. But should anything happen to my dad, I don't want to know about it." Fanny says, hanging her head.
"Hopefully it won't have to come to that kiddo." Sydney says.
As they all strategize and spilt up, Monty stays behind when everyone else is gone.
"Numbuh 0071. I'm very proud of you for keeping your word, I'm sure Numbuh 0001 would be too." Monty says to his comrade in arms.
"Whatever it takes to help get our boys home from wherever the hell they are in this Universe." Betty says. She then pulls out a case of Mello Yello, much to Monty's surprise.
"I thought they stopped those decades ago." He says.
"When you have will and know how, you can find anything." Betty says.
