CHAPTER 4. Day of The Orcus Labyrinth.
At Morning the Hero's party soon arrive at Orcus Labyrinth some are nervous on what awaits them some are curious on what they find.
"Good morning Tennyson Kun." Kaori greeted Ben Shily with a soft smile and he smiled back, greeting her as well. He got nervous when she got closer to him and hugged his right arm as silence grew between them so Ben a minute later broke the silence.
"So this is Orcus Labyrinth huh?" Ben said. "Looks very festive for a dungeon."
Just then Ben realized that she stayed behind from the group. "Shirasaki San?! What are you doing here? Amanogawa kun and the others are far in the front!" He exclaimed but Kaori just shrugged.
"I know, it's been weeks since we last talked and I just found this my chance to greet you, so please greet me back!" Exclaimed excitedly as Kaori gave Ben a sweet smile.
"Okay…. Good morning I guess hehehe." Ben said, looking nervous. " Suddenly he turns serious as if feels an unknown presence watching them, which Kaori notices.
"What is it?" Kaori asked Ben.
"Nothing." Ben lied. 'Could it be my imagination or is someone watching us?' He thought.
( NOTE: Incase you guys didn't know, some parts of this like this very first scene in my chapter where Hajime felt someone is watching him and Koari before they came inside the Great Orcus Labyrinth was actually in the Manga. )
They all now went deeper within the Labyrinth as the kids started using magical attacks on each monster they faced on the first floor.
"Alright great job kids." Captain Meld Complimented them.
Yaegashi then snickers at this. "I guess the small fries on the first floor are too weak for the Hero's part."
"But this is a practice run so whatever." Shrugged Ryutarou with a smug Ben from behind just watched them a bit annoyed as he rolled his eyes.
'Amateurs.' Ben thought.
"The thing is don't forget to collect the demon stones inside their bodies." Meld reminded them all as he cut down a monster.
"This is sort of overkill." Commented a student.
"That magic attack was great and all but depleted so much of your mana." All exclaimed by Kaori, Eri and suzu.
"And the Magic's party." Pointed out Ryutarou.
"And so I'd like you all to keep taking shifts fighting in the front lines. From the way you all fight, I assume you'll be able to reach the 20th floor today." He tries to motivate the group which is working. "And maybe someday you'll be able to break the record and go beyond the 65th floor."
"Meld San, just how deep is this labyrinth?" Ben asked and he was told that this labyrinth was 100 floors deeper and each time they passed a floor one by one the students were tested in taking on the monsters and now it was Ben's time.
"Tennyson, it's your time." Meld told Ben who shrugged and faced a demon wolf who was snarling at him he shrugged and instead of pulling out a sword and dagger he pull out an electric shock grenade which shock the wolf to death, surprising his classmates even more and remembered that he was a secret agent for the US and Japanese government undercover as a student in their school.
"I see you're not all talk after all Tennyson Kun huh?" Complimented Yaegashi and Ben shrugged.
"Mah, they're no aliens. So it's easy." Ben shrugged as they all moved further below the labyrinth.
As they made it even lower they found a chamber with a large crystal on the ceiling.
Ben is holding his sword with both of his hands and faced the monster in front of him which is a dark blue lizard who stands at 6'3 in height and his weight is 158 pounds with his eyes are dark golden which his armour is black armoured chest area, shoulders, and knees down to his sharp raptor feet. He was trying his best to find a weakness, but the lizard kicked Ben down as he was ready to strike the weak enemy down with its blade. However, Kouki slices the head off, and the rocks are knocked down from his powerful attack by his blade with glowing bright yellow by using his aura surrounding the blade.
The lizard drops down onto the solid ground as Kouki looks down at Ben, and he shows a gentle smile because he was living his dreams about becoming a hero. "Don't worry, I'll keep everyone safe," Kouki speaks towards everyone with a soft tone, but his expression shows pride inside of it.
"I have it under control dude, But thanks I guess." Ben said with a bored tone in his voice as his expression shows how he saved his life from being killed even though he doesn't need saving.
"I don't know why you are bothering with a sword because you don't have any magic affinity and your spells are nothing but useless." Daisuke was talking down to Ben. His tone was harsh, and Ben got up onto his feet, then he began to walk forward with the others like he was ignoring the comments that Daisuke was making since he had enough of hearing about how he was the weakest one inside the group. "Hey loser, where do you think you are… going?" Daisuke asks him with the same tone, but Ben stops inside his tracks to see the bright sapphire crystal in front of them. Ben begins to feel something is not right since his lessons with Noint came back into his mind.
"That's a Glanz Crystals, which are popular to propose rings." Commander Melds speaks with a firm voice, and he is ready for anything because Ben could see something was not right about the crystal.
"Well, I need to get it firsthand first." Daisuke told everyone. His voice was smooth since he wanted to get his hands onto the crystal, which Ben and Commander Melds screamed at him to stop him from touching it.
"Daisuke! Do not touch it!" Commander Melds/Ben both cried out at the top of their lungs. Still, Daisuke's right hand took hold of the crystal at the same time as Pope Leader Ishtar and the followers of Lord Ehit made the spell circle appear below everybody, but it was blinding light to transport them down to the lower floor being the sixty-five level.
(At Floor 65)
The blinding light sets down, Ben Tennyson and the others first see a large stone bridge with dark silver stone flooring and walls with dark yellow outline railing. Everybody was becoming more worried since a dark purple magical circle appeared on the other side of the bridge. A large creature with black scales and three pale horns at its head and eyes are dark golden slit ready to strike the intruders down as Commander Melds speaks. "This is the sixty-five floors." His voice is fierce and a bit worried since his classmates were not ready for the challenge of the sixty-five floor.
"This is the lowest level that anybody has gotten in the floor for the labyrinth." Ben was telling everyone with a firm tone as he heard someone was telling them to look at the other side was an army of skeletons with a sharp silver blade as their eyes were crimson.
Nothing stopped both forces from attacking everyone as skeletons were giving everyone a run for their lives, which the simple spell was nothing to them. The battle was intense as the behemoth was charging forward. Still, Commander Melds uses a strong defense spell to protect everyone as Ben feels useless since he cannot use any of his skills or abilities to help anyone out so he has no choice but to stop pretending to be weak and uses his level 7 plumbers tech.
"Please, Gods and Goddess, don't allow this creature of darkness supposed no threats or harm to anyone. Holy Ground!" Commanders Melds speaks the spell as it was a large dark blue dome of magic which Kaori uses some of her magic to keep the spell as well then Ben barely dodges an attack from skeleton which he takes his blade out because he was going to fight this creature alone then his mind brought the memories of how he fought Noint in practice matches as she told him to not expect an attack from the sides, front or backward because the battlefield is always chaotic. An enemy can come at the person anytime.
"Okay that's it, playtime is over!" Ben exclaimed, catching everyone's thoughts as they saw him charging at the behemoth monster as Kaori started calling out for.
"Ben Kun!" Cried out Kaori.
"What are you doing kiddo fall back!" Meld sun called out after him.
"Hey Tennyson!" Shizuku called but then noticed something odd from the American teenager as he parted his coat and pulled out something that looked like guns?
Ben was near the monster in front of them. 'Since this monster can withstand Low level magic. Let's see how you handle level 7 technology!' With a battle cry Ben pulled out his blasters and started firing at the behemoth which pushed it back by the energy blast impact on its face.
Everyone was shocked at this but realized that he's a skilled trained agent who fights supernatural and extraterrestrial beings that threaten their homes.
"Tennyson Kun?" Asked Kaori in awe at his fighting skills.
Meld San was dumbfounded but after hearing about this kid being a born fighter from his world would explain all the errors in his status plate.
Ben on the other twirls around his blasters and put it back up on his holsters.
The behemoth monster was about to smack him out of the bridge but Ben dodges by rolling under it and started shooting down it's Belly which is the weak spot and as he slid under it he took out a disc from his pocket and tossed it on the monster as soon as he made out under it. Ben roll out his sleeves and reveal that his already in his plumber suit and glancing at his left arm which has a gauntlet on it press a button and causes an electric shock on the monster causing it to roar in pain as Ben run towards from behind it as it was still facing his classmates and the knights as he was near it he leapt so high and uses his plumbers armour rocket pack which is installed within the torso hips of his suit to gain more speed as he done an aerial dynamic move he landed right in front of his classmates.
"Don't worry guys, I can handle this if you focus on retreating!" Ben called but as he expected Kouki being his pathetic self and tries to be a hero.
"No, I'll help protect my comrades!" Kouki exclaimed trying to be heroic.
"You idiot you may have the power to fight it but you're not ready unlike me. I have been trained in this type of situation back home!" Glared Ben as Kouki remembers he was indeed a trained government agent to fight beings like this back which made him jealous.
"But I…." Stuttered Kouki.
"Look man, It's behemoth but this monster is posted to be in level sixty-five not here." Ben was telling the group.
"How do you know that?!" Asked Kouki
"I studied it in the library during my free time and it's no good if you don't have the knowledge about the labyrinth either." Ben responds back to Kouki with a serious tone. "Plus we're all still in low level magic and it can resist it due to it's high level magic resistance and if there's anything that can withstand magic it's technology which I had right now." He gestures to his blasters.
"We need to get out of here! You kids are not ready for a battle like this!" Shouted Commander Meld.
"I do, They don't, unlike them I have experience fighting this type of creature or others like it as part of my training of being a secret agent for the government back from our home." Ben pointed out that he's a plumber agent that fights extraterrestrial and supernatural beings that threaten their earth.
Behemoth roars and begins rushing towards them but then was being pushed back by explosives as Benjamin was tossing light grenades at the monster who resumed its charge but then a wall blocks the path which was Ben made using his transmute ability as he runs out of ammo.
"Ben!" Shouted Kaori.
"Go! Go and get out of here!" Ben tells Kaori with a serious tone.
"But what about you?" Asked Kaori.
"Just go, I'll be right behind you!" Ben tells her.
"Please be careful." Kaori said, and she ran off.
Ben nods at Kaori and keeps holding the walls as Commander Meld tells everyone to hold the beast back with magic which he begins rushing towards the group. He could not tell but someone shot a fire blast at him with his right-hand and tried to make a wall, but it was too late to react to the blast. Ben took the blast and it sent him flying off the bridge. He closes his green eyes because he was thinking that he was done for as he regretted not fulfilling his promise to Noint and Kaori screams his name. Ben's presence begins to fall into the darkness of the labyrinth and there is nothing left of him.
"NO! BENJAMIN!" Screamed Kaori.
"No, it's too late for him." Shizuku was telling her best friend.
"Don't be ridiculous, there's no way he could survive that fall." Said Daisuke.
Shizuku looks at a serious expression but she knew it was a hard truth to put on herself as she begins to take Kaori to get out of the labyrinth.
"No! We can't leave him!" Screamed Kaori.
Commander Meld had no choice but to knock Kaori out.
Shizuku nods at Commander Melds and picks her up then turns to says her apologies to leave Hajime in the labyrinth.
"I'm sorry, there is nothing we can do for him." Commander Meld said in pity knowing that Ben Tennyson was a warrior at heart and was only playing to be weak due to his mission given by his superior on his word to keep his identity a secret till they Summoned him and Meld San has to report this to superiors about Ben Tennyson as well with the help of the Hero's party explaining what's an agent is.
