Mama I'm Coming Home
In the realm of Bladehenge the son of Rignorok Eddie Riggs is on a hill fooling around with his guitar writing music when Magnus comes up to check on him.
Magnus: Hey Eddie what are you working on?
Eddie: Oh what's up dude, I'm just fuckin' around with some riffs been writing a whole with all this off time.
Magnus: For sure I get that 100% you record anything yet?
Eddie: No... nothing yet I kinda just want to get this refined first. Hey have you seen Ophelia? I haven't seen her around in awhile.
Magnus: Uh here and there man you know how it is, Everybody kinda just stands guard. Coil is gone and The Sea of Black Tears is sealed shut. Don't get me wrong a monster pops up once and awhile but nothing crazy it's almost like we have world peace.
Eddie: Yeah it's a weird feeling alright man well I'm gonna get going. I'll see you tonight man!
Magnus: Yeah man definitely!
Eddie hops in the Druid Blows and drives off. Tonight is the night where they celebrate a decade free from the oppression of Doviculous and his demon empire that ran on slave labor of humans. Eddie despite feeling at home in this "Brutal Land" there are times where he misses the modern day he thinks about his best friend Craig who when they were younger the two of them were in many different local bands and would eventually become roadies for much bigger names such as Kabbage Boy and The Holograms. Eddie rolls to a stop and just gets out and looks at the hill and starts playing the solo from one of his and Craig's favorite bands: Hangman's Joke. The solo echoes off of the mountains and somehow it opens a portal but to where Eddie's not sure so he does what any curious world saving rodeo would do: Hop in his car and drive right into it.
Meanwhile back on Earth in the Sanctum Sanctorum the home of Dr. Stephen Strange, the good Doctor is catching up on reading in his study when he gets a knock on his door from Wong.
Wong: Stephen it's Tony he's calling.
Dr. Strange: Alright thanks Wong, I'll get it.
Dr. Strange then levitates his phone from the other side of his desk and sees that he has misses five calls from Tony Stark and that he is currently calling him right now so he answers.
Dr. Strange: I'm going to be honest I thought I had canceled my service along time ago.
Tony: Well hello to you Houdini, listen I just want to run something by you are you busy.
Dr. Strange: Technically no
Tony: Good, would it be possible for you to come to the tower really quick?
Dr. Strange then rolls his eyes and opens a portal to Tony's office in Stark Tower. The portal opens right in front of Tony's desk.
Dr. Strange: What is it Stark?
Tony presses a button his computer and holograms begin to project a 3D rendering of Earth with specific locations marked in the states specifically one over upstate Michigan and one of San Francisco.
Tony: Well looks like Mandrake the Magician got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
Dr. Strange: I can call him if you'd like he routinely asks me if we can take Flash Gordon off of his I suggested to him we trade you for him.
Tony: Very funny, anyway I've had JARVIS doing scans just for crazy energy signatures within the past six months. These locations spiked the one in Michigan is the run down head quarters of Aperture Labs while the other is Cyberdyne Systems out in San Francisco.
Dr. Strange: Two science based companies and you call the sorcerer supreme?
Tony: I'm sorry I thought you becoming the Sorcerer Supreme was all about over coming being an arrogant ass.
Dr. Strange: Touche
Tony: Now these readings are unlike anything I've encountered so I extended JARVIS' search for over the past decade and here are a couple more results.
A picture of a mansion out in the European Country side is then projected for the two of them to see.
Tony: Does that look familiar to you?
Dr. Strange: Yeah that's where the Brimstone Society is based out. There a secretive monster hunting union. Kamar Taj has had a love/hate relationship with them over the years.
Tony: Oh I know who they are I have access to SHIELD files I probably shouldn't have. JARVIS would you like to show the good doctor a discovery you made?
JARVIS: While studying the energies molecular imprint on the surrounding atmosphere, the energy was very similar to that of magic specifically Chaos Magic. The way it alters reality.
Dr. Strange: So why call me? Shouldn't you be asking Wanda about this?
Tony: I did and she said she didn't do anything at either of these places. Wanda has been up here mostly, she'll do the occasional mission outside of city limits but she's a homebody. I want you and Wanda to figure out what's going on. Look if this energy is similar to Wanda's I'm worried about some reality altering mischief.
Dr. Strange: Reality altering is likely but have you considered the possibility of an invasion? Surely there could be someone or something trying to break in.
Tony: It's possible but I'm not sure who it could be considering most of our big magic threats are locked away or hiding in their dimension of choice waiting it out. Dormammu, Nightmare, Cthon, Mephisto... not a peep from any of them makes you wonder.
Dr. Strange: There are other demonic entities and dark magic users we don't fight on a regular basis. We should pull from lists from places like the League and the various government agencies outside of SHIELD and it's network. Tell Wanda she can realistically-
Strange is then cut off by the sound of a car crashing into a wall back at the Sanctum. Strange looks at Tony and with a press of another button Tony begins to suit up and the two walk through the portal. They walk to the inner Sanctum where they Wong, Clea, and Rintrah in defensives stances there hands glowing with arcane projections around them. The Druid Blow slammed into the wall seemingly from nowhere and Eddie head in the wheel unconscious.
Iron Man: Been there done that!
Dr. Strange: Wong what happened?
Wong: I am not sure I was meditating when I heard him crash into the wall. He appears human but I am sensing something else, something demonic.
Clea then flicks her hands and Eddie's body begins to levitate. She positions his body so that they can see his face.
Clea: He's breathing, I am sensing the same thing Wong is... He's definitely a half breed.
Iron Man: Wait a minute... JARVIS run a facial ID on this headbanger for me.
JARVIS: Already did sir, this appears to be the roadie that disappeared at Kabbage Boys final show where they were killed big the stage prop. His name is Eddie Riggs and he has been believed dead for a decade now.
Dr. Strange: JARVIS, can you scan Eddie for that strange energy you found?
JARVIS: He has no energy pulsing through him but an x-ray indicates it looks like he has a pair of wings that are inside of him and his guitar and axe seem to be pulsing with magic.
Rintrah: Wong and I can take both and study it and see where it comes from.
Dr. Strange: Yes, I'll stay behind and clean the mess sleeping beauty made and we'll have a nice chat with him.
A few hours go by and Eddie is in a bed he starts to come to but his head hurts, his body is sore. It's fuzzy but hears a feminine voice he believes to be Ophelia saying "Wake up Riggs, we need to speak to you" to which Eddie replies "Ok Ophelia what is there to talk about are we good? I feel like were not good"
Dr. Strange: Who's Ophelia?
Eddie is now wide awake and sees Dr. Strange levitating but sitting criss cross while Iron Man, Wong, Clea, and Rintrah stand across from the bed.
Eddie: Where am I?
Clea: The Sanctum Sanctorum, home of the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. A place you have not been too in a decade.
Eddie: Technically I never left Earth.
Wong: Actually Rintrah and I read the marking on your axe.
Rintrah: And studies the energies flowing through your instrument and vehicle. We have determined that you found a world where music and magic are connected. I studied this world with what little knowledge we had of it. It is a strange land that is hard to find yet here you are with that world's patron god as a belt buckle.
Eddie: Oh yeah long story about all that my dad was-
Wong: Riggnorok, I know, and your mother was Succoria. Kamar Taj's library holds the prophecy of many different worlds and we also sensed when your parents came all those years ago. The Ancient One allowed you to believe that your parents traveled in time in the hopes that your mother would see futility in trying to maintain her empire.
Eddie: Ummm ok well do you know my name? My social security?
Iron Man: No just your name, Eddie Riggs. You used to be a roadie for Kabbage Boy... I met them back stage at a festival a year or two before they died. Nice enough dudes but I could tell they wore their crew out.
Eddie: You got this write hey listen am I in trouble? Like I am required to stay put or like what's going on here?
Dr. Strange: I don't consider you a threat and based off the thorough inspection we just did you have brought anything to Earth from this other place that could be deemed harmful to the populace. Would you like to come back to Earth, I'm sure we could help you legally resurrect you.
Iron Man: We know a couple of lawyers that are up to the task.
Eddie: Thanks man I appreciate I really do but I really just want to see my friend Craig. He lives out West he's in the army so there's a good chance he might not be home.
Iron Man: Well I can help with that what's his last name?
Eddie: McPherson.
Iron Man projects the data on Craig McPherson a picture from social media of the two much younger rocking out in a small dive bar as well as a picture of Craig with Jem from the Holograms. Craig's military documents begin to pop up and they GI Joe logos and footage of Craig fighting GI Joe.
Eddie: Whoa whoa whoa! Craig was GI Joe and he never fucking told me!
Iron Man: His codename is Rock N Roll very appropriate. You know I play a little guitar and I named myself after an Ozzy song. You wanna start a band Ed?
Eddie: Let me go see Craig first and I'll think about it! Haha! Craig we got a lot to catch up!
Dr. Strange opens up a portal to Rock N Roll's house in Malibu. Eddie walks out of the portal and knocks on the door. Rock N Roll yells out "Just a minute!". Eddie stands there with his axe strapped to his back and his guitar in hand. Rock N Roll opens the door saying "What's up Lamar, you're a little early man. Hey man I was talkin to Jem I think I can get her to do the hook-"
Eddie: You started a new band? You need a guitar player?
Rock N Roll: No way! Eddie?!
Rock N Roll hugs Eddie and the two go downstairs and begin to record music and catch up. Meanwhile back at the Sanctum Sanctorum Dr. Strange is in the basement examining a sample of the energy particles with the Scarlet Witch.
Scarlet Witch: This feels a lot like one of my spells but something more.
Dr. Strange: Agreed but despite it's similarities it's different. I'm going to try a tracking spell. I suggest you do it with me Wanda just to double check my work.
The two in sync draw arcane symbols in the air creating a circle almost entirely made of runes. This circle blasts the energy sample and the room goes white with the Scarlet Witch and Dr. Strange just standing there until they see a red and yellow blur zoom passed them.
Scarlet Witch: That was the Flash.
Dr. Strange: The other big name superhero that alters reality.
Dr. Strange flicks his wrist and time begins to rewind slowly, the vision of the Flash comes back to them and freeze.
Dr. Strange: This is definitely Barry, I recognize his eyes.
Scarlet Witch: Look at how much electricity he's generating. There's enough lightning here to generate an entire planet.
Dr. Strange: He's running from something, I'm not sure what though. That explains why the energy resembled chaos magic. If anything it was more similar to the speed force.
Scarlet Witch: What do you know of the speed force?
Dr. Strange: Only that it's a sentient dimension with other worlds inside it and grants those who have encountered it's energies powers but you need to have meta gene to survive it.
Dr. Strange then flicks his wrist and the room returns to it's normal state.
Scarlet Witch: So it was the Flash then, he is trying to rewrite reality.
Dr. Strange: Perhaps, Barry has already tried that though and failed. I am one of the few people that remembers when he altered the world to save his mom. I don't think he would do something that drastic again unless...
Scarlet Witch: He was being manipulated.
Dr. Strange: What do you think? Someone is trying to weaponize the speed force to alter reality. The question is why?
Scarlet Witch: I suppose we will find out soon enough.
Dr. Strange: What do you mean?
The Scarlet Witch then creates a projection of the Hall of Justice.
Scarlet Witch: Remember? We were invited.
