Shion watched as Rimuru talked with Diablo
the purple-haired she-oni slightly frowned as she looked at the two
there it was again, the nasty feeling she's been experiencing lately
Shion shook her head, quietly sighing before obtaining a determined look
Silently, with no one noticing, Shion stepped out of the chamber and made her way to the kitchen
'This will work! It has to!' Shion thought
lately, things have not been going her way
so Shion decided to do something about that.
She peeked her head through the kitchen door. Seeing that no one was there, she went in, snatching the ingredients she required, and started 'cooking.'
she shyly picked up the kitchen knife Kurobe made her and began piercing the veggies, meat, onions, etc.
After cutting them, she placed them in the boiling pot and stirred. After 30 minutes, she started pouring the ... thing... into the dishes
"Shion?! What are you doing?!"
A voice shrieked
Shion, who only concentrated on the meal she was creating and not her surroundings jumped at the sound. In doing so, however, she had let go of the pot handles
THUD! CLANK! SIZZLE!
The thing Shion made spilled all over and started disintegrating the floor
Shuna, who was sent by Rimuru to go find Shion. moved over to the larger female with an astonished look before peering at the used-to-be floor
"Oh, no..." Shion said, "the precious soup I prepared for Lord Rimuru~Sama..."
Shuna looked at Shion before padding her back. "I'll take care of this. How about you take care of Lord Rimuru~Sama?" Shuna offered. Shion looked uncertain but accepted her leave. Shuna sighed before glaring at the floor again and commenced cleaning.
Shion sat in front of Rimuru as he lifted an eyebrow at her. "You tried cooking me lunch?"
Shion nodded in confirmation, making Rimuru sigh. Honestly, what will he do with this girl?
Rimuru leaned back in his armchair. "Next time instead of... 'cooking' alone, do it when you've got someone supervising you, okay?" Shion nodded sheepishly
well... that didn't entirely work
But it doesn't matter! Because there are many diverse means she could do to get her master's attention!
After Rimuru had stepped out of the office, Shion looked around and realized that it had yet to be cleaned. Shion grinned. That'll be splendid! She clutched a broom and tried sweeping.
after a few minutes, Rimuru stepped back into his office
Only, he discovered it was no longer an office. In fact, could it even be called a room anymore?...
because there was no room...
at all!
the entire room, except for a tiny spot, was gone like it never even existed
in the midst of what used to be his office on a tiny space, was Shion holding a broom snapped in two
"Shion... did you try cleaning?" Rimuru asked
"Y-yes." Shion admitted. She didn't think her cleaning would spiral out this way
Rimuru shook his head, as he had a feeling that this will be a long day...
after getting Rigurd to make plans to remake the office, Rimuru and Shion moved to another room.
Shion sat on the couch as Shuna just finished scolding her. Perhaps she went a little overboard with the cleaning
but it wasn't her fault that the broom broke in half right after she started sweeping!
As Shion pondered on what to do next, she noticed the plants around the room and grinned. That's perfect!
Rimuru signed the last of the documents and stretched 'finally done.' he thought gleefully he hadn't heard a peep out of Shion and would have thought it suspicious had his focus not been his on work.
Rimuru opened his eyes and nearly fell off the chair he was on as he looked in front of him...
Shion was carrying a cartoonishly large number of buckets filled to the rim with water
"S-shion... What're you doing?" he asked nervously. Just what was she going to do with those?!
Shion just smiled and poured a full bucket of water onto the plant she was near. Unfortunately, while doing so, she had knocked down the other buckets of water.
CLATTER! SPLASH!
water fell everywhere, the room was soaked, including the documents that Rimuru had worked hours on was now ruined
Shion panicked, glancing around to see if there was anything she could use to clean this up
Then, seeing her sword near the couch, she grabbed it and began 'cleaning'. however, with one swing, Shion had somehow created a small tornado!
after dealing with the tornado, Rimuru looked around the room
Everything was a mess, even the back wall was completely gone!
Shion's panic rose a bit more. She could only imagine the scolding Shuna will give her when she finds out that she not only made a giant hole in the kitchen floor, made her master's office disappear but also destroyed another room...
this just wasn't her day...
After getting another scolding from Shuna, Shion accompanied Rimuru to check on the construction that Geld was working on. while Rimuru and Geld were chatting. Shion looked around anxiously.
Until. "We need more wooden planks." she heard someone say, wooden planks? She could get them wooden planks! maybe if she did Rimuru~sama might praise her?
Shion, eager to impress her master, hustled toward where the wooden planks were. She made her way back and threw them at the orcs, catching them off guard.
however, she had thrown the planks a little too hard, and the planks ended up crashing into the build, making the entire building fall
She blinked, dumbfounded at how that happened.
oh no! that wasn't what she wanted!
Rimuru's eye twitched as he watched the building fall
that girl... just what is up with her lately?
He looked at Shion, who was desperately trying to avoid his gaze, and fiercely apologized to Geld and the others. After that, Rimuru had given her the rest of the day off.
Now with nothing else to do, Shion was at snack and bar. Today hadn't gone well
And it depressed Shion. She wanted her master's attention, but the ideas she came up with got her more scolding than praise. It wasn't fair...
Shion went to take another sip of the bottle of brandy in her hands only to find it empty
She groaned in frustration as she laid her head on the counter
"This really isn't your day, huh?"
Shion hastily turned around to the voice and saw it was her lord
"Eh- Lord Rimuru~Sama!" Shion screamed. What was he doing here?
Rimuru looked at her, confused. Why was she freaking out? All he said was "this really isn't your day" and she acted like she was in trouble, well she kind of was, anyway, she's been doing strange stuff...
Rimuru slightly narrowed his eyes at her. Something was bugging her that much he could tell; he just didn't know what...
"Shion... You alright?" He asked, might as well get straight to the point
Shion, a bit whiplashed by the sudden question, quickly babbled with a forced smile, "Y-yes, I'm fine as always, my Lord! No need to worry about me!"
"Are you really?" Rimuru asked again, but in a more suspicious tone, Shion flinched. She could feel the tears forming in her eyes. She turned away from Rimuru and quickly wiped away the tears
She couldn't show such weakness! She'd be a disgraceful secretary if she did, especially in front of her master
Rimuru raised an eyebrow at this. "Shi- "I'm fine! Just like always, my Lord." she interrupted him with a disheartened voice, this just confused him even more
"Shion, are you really feeling okay?" He asked again, more convinced that there was something going on
Shion turned around, finally at her breaking point and no longer in a fit state of mind
"No! I'm not!" she yelled, "I'm not okay! I'm not happy! I'm not great!" She continued with tears falling down, "I'm not like Shuna! Who can perfectly make tea or food that you can enjoy! I'm not like Diablo who can perfectly do tasks you ask him to! I don't know how to clean! I don't know how to cook! I don't know how to take care of plants! Even when I try my hardest to get your attention, trying my hardest to impress you put it always seems to have the opposite effect! I'm an absolute worthless idiot!" she cried falling on her knees.
this certainly shocked Rimuru
To think that this cheerful, hot-tempered girl felt like this.
Shion sobbed a bit before realizing that she had just yelled at her master. Shame and regret quickly made their way into her heart
she yelled at her master...
the one she deeply respected
the one that took her and the others in
the one that gave them a chance of revenge
Oh, what a disgrace she was!
She quickly kowtowed in order to fix her mistake "I'm so sorry my Lord! I didn't mean to ye- "a hand patting her head interrupted her,
"Shion, it's okay, lift your head." she hesitantly obeyed and slowly lifted her head. She saw her Master's enchanting golden eyes that held gentleness and understanding
Rimuru flashed a smile at her "you needed to get something off your chest, so it's alright." he said giving her a few more pats on the head before offering a hand to her "I think I've got a place that can cheer you up!" He said, gesturing her to take his hand, slowly she obeyed and let him guide her wherever he wanted to go
After a while of walking, they had found an ice cream stand, now sitting in silence eating their ice cream. Shion nervously took another bite. she was scared
It was only natural. After all, she yelled at the one she admires the most:
Rimuru, noticing this, shook his head. He couldn't really understand why she was so scared. "So" he began, startling Shion "is that how you been feeling? That you're nothing good?"
Shion slowly nodded "Why?" She looked away, Rimuru sighed, "you say you want my attention and want to impress me, not noticing that you already do Shion." he admitted,
Shion's eyes widen and she turned back to see he was grinning at her, "You always give your all to everything you do, sure at times you might be clumsy but you do your job as my personal guard and secretary well!"
Tears welled up in her eyes again
"You don't need to cook or clean to get my attention, ya know? I like Shion just the way she is!"
Shion, despite the tears falling again, smiled a soft and joyful smile. So, she didn't need to do anything to impress her Lord?
Does she already impress him just by being herself? Shion grinned with joy.
she was so insanely happy that she couldn't wait to rub it in Diablo's face!
Rimuru watched as Shion looked to be back at her normal self, hopefully, he mused
she will stop the unnecessary messes and just stay still so he won't have to clean up anything again.
