"Luce? are you still up?" Natsu slides open the window and lands in Lucy's bed.
Happy flew directly at Lucy's kitchen and rampaged her food stock, "She's already sleeping Happy, don't make noise in there!"
Natsu lay on the other side of bed, he closely looked at Lucy's sleeping face, his hands rest on her waist and then decided to fall asleep as well.
Happy took his time to eat some midnight snack before finally crashing in the bed, resting his head on Natsu's lap.
The next morning
Lucy woke up facing the other side of bed, "Ahhh good morning, Magnolia!" she said as soon as she opened her eyes and then felt someone's arms pulling her closely.
"What - hey!" She looks behind and saw Natsu and Happy sleeping beside her. "Hands off!"
She quickly gets off of bed and grabs her keys to open gate of her celestial pet, Plue, "Open Gate of the Canis Minor! Nikora"
"Looks who's here early in the morning," Plue purred like he always does then pointed his hand at the bed, "yeah, them again."
Instead of waking them up, Lucy decided to go to her kitchen and found some open chips and left-over fish bones on the table. She was always energetic in kicking them out of her house, but not today, she really just wants to make a good breakfast and go to the guild to get her strawberry milkshake by Mira.
She is now frying eggs while Plue sits on the table chomping on big candy canes, "Lushie? did you cook fish?" half asleep Happy walks into the kitchen, "Nope, you had all the fish last night, remember?"
That woke up Happy's spirit "What? -I'm going to get more fish! I'll be back Lushie!" and with that, the exceed flew and exited in the window. Seriously, these guys do not know how to use the door.
Lucy found herself actually enjoying making breakfast for two people, she made fried rice, fried eggs, bacons and even made a soup. Time to wake Natsu she thought as soon as she finished setting the table.
She sat on the edge of her bed, she's not even sure to why she didn't want to disturb his sleep.
Maybe it was because she knows longed for peaceful moments like this.
Her hands touched his face, tracing a scar he got from fighting his brother Zeref. Tears started to fall in Lucy's eyes just when she remembered what happened that day.
It must have hurt to fight your own brother, but he is Natsu, he got to do it and choose to give all his best to protect his family, the guild. He was and have always been their hope.
Natsu was awaken by the warmth he felt in his face, her hands kept on creasing the scar softly. Natsu was aware that Lucy is having her breakdowns from the war, they never talked about it, but it doesn't make it go away by not talking about it either. He does his best in staying by her side and putting all his efforts in diverting her attention every time, but today is different...
"It's alright Lucy," he whispered under his breath and let out a chuckle.
It has been months after the war, but Lucy still feels sentimental about it at times, and she very well knows how lucky she is that Natsu's always there to comfort her. They may not talk about it, but Natsu and Happy were the greatest help to overcome it, little by little. Its just that, this morning, its not the war that made her sentimental, it was Natsu.
She realized she never knew how did Natsu found all the courage to continue, does he cry too? does he feel sad for his brother too? Natsu's always there for her, and yet she felt little about herself that she was not able to offer any help for him.
Natsu sits up, his hands lift her chin gently to level their face, he leans closer to let their foreheads touch.
"Does it hurt?" she asked, for the first time. Deep in her heart she is scared, if he is hurt, how do I help him? How long was he hurting? Did he let it slide because he though I needed him the most because I was weak?
"It hurts more to see you like this," Natsu admitted, in everything that they have been through, it was her comfort and safety that he worried the most, to see her in pain like this, he felt helpless.
She rested her head on his chest, feeling his heartbeat, its beating fast... slowly it got stable, peaceful, one beat at a time as they let themselves get their hearts wrapped at the moment, breathing together at the same time. Synchronizing their heart beats.

After a long silence, Lucy asked, "Do you think Zeref and Master Mavis are together now?"
Natsu's thoughts took him back to that day, when he just watches their first master and his brother kiss, the moment he was almost blinded by their love. "Yeah, that's for sure." He said and planted a kiss on her forehead.
In that moment, Lucy knew all the fear in her heart was gone. That's when she fully understands that the war was over, and once again Natsu showered her with hope.
The stay frozen in that position and then Lucy closed her eyes and appreciated the calmness that Natsu brought her way. This is home.
"I got the fishies!" Happy yelled meters away from the window, Lucy immediately distanced herself from Natsu, almost falling off the bed but Natsu grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close again, "Hey careful, its just Happy."
Lucy is certain she is blushing; it was too late to realize that she got too touchy with Natsu. She tried to hide her blushing face from Happy, but Natsu did not seem to mind, He was even naked and did not mind that also!
She just walked out from her bed and hide in the kitchen while Natsu put on his shirt and Happy bragged about the fishes.
Regardless, Lucy was at peace that morning, and she know that feeling would last for as long as she is with Natsu.
They spend the rest of their morning in Lucy's kitchen, with Happy's story of how he catches his fish that morning and planning on what mission they would go as a team.
