Chapter 3
Kira192015: Here we are with Chapter 3 ladies and gentlemen! We appreciate your patience and hope you'll enjoy what we have to offer. My goal is to try and cover as much as we can in order to make up for any inconsistencies in the update schedule. This way you all will have quality over quantity.
WingcommanderWhitewolf: We're doing what we can to give you the best we can.
Kira192015: That being said, we hope you enjoy this.
"Okay. As much as I don't want to admit it, these new vehicles are the shit!" Blitzø said as he drove the newest van that was provided.
The old van was cleaned out and taken to the impound and was replaced with an updated cleaner model. Thanks to a bit of dimensional manipulation magic, courtesy of Maximus, the van was actually four times larger inside than it was outside. This meant that it could potentially hold about sixteen passengers including the driver.
"I'll say!" Millie said with a smile, "These seats are so comfortable! I can't remember the last time I relaxed this much in a van."
"I'm glad you approve," Maximus said.
Loona was going through her phone and she noticed one of the Hellhound agents from before sitting across from her who resembled a German Shepherd. The Hellhound noticed her and smiled.
"Is something wrong?" he asked, a German accent leaking through.
"Nothing," Loona said, "Just out of curiosity though, what's it like working for him?"
Loona pointed her thumb at Maximus who was still talking to Blitzø.
"Oh it's quite enjoyable," the Hellhound replied, "We are paid relatively well and a lot of us were adopted by him and his father. He's practically family."
Loona looked a bit skeptical about that.
"My name is Bertholdt," the Hellhound said, offering his hand.
"Loona," she replied, shaking it.
"So if you don't mind my asking, what's your relationship with your coworkers?" Bertholdt asked.
"Well, Millie and me like to argue a lot, mainly because she's always simping for fatty over there," Loona said, pointing her thumb at Moxxie.
Bertholdt looked at the couple who were so wrapped up with being lovey dovey that they were almost completely oblivious to everything else.
"Blitzø adopted me a few years ago before I turned eighteen," Loona said, "He's…something I guess."
"Are you two not on good terms?" Bertholdt asked.
"He's always babying me," Loona said with a grunt, "I'm an adult yet he always thinks I'm some defenseless little girl. It pisses me off so much."
"Heheh, I can see why that would be annoying," Bertholdt replied with a chuckle, "Do you have any friends outside of work?"
"No. No I don't," Loona said, feeling just a tad self-conscious about it.
"Well then, if you don't mind, I would be happy to be your friend," Bertholdt said with a smile.
"Really? Why?" Loona asked.
"Call it corny, but in a place like Hell, you need as many friends as you can get, and it is nice to have someone to talk to that isn't about to stab you in the back," Bertholdt explained, "I'm sure my wife would love to meet you."
"You're married?" Loona asked.
Bertholdt showed off the ring on his finger.
"About four years now," Bertholdt said, before his expression shifted ever so slightly.
"Where is she? Does she work with you?" Loona asked.
"She's in a separate division under Maximus' organization. While I'm a field agent, she specializes in surveillance," Bertholdt said, "She's on medical leave at the moment, however."
"Is she alright?" Millie asked.
Both Hellhounds turned and saw Millie and Moxxie had been listening.
"Sorry, but we couldn't help overhearing," she said.
"Oh it's no problem," Bertholdt said, "She's doing better now."
"If it's not too personal, may I ask what happened?" Moxxie asked.
"She…had been abducted by one of Valentino's people," Bertholdt said with hesitation.
That name immediately got the three of them to look concerned and afraid. It was no secret that the Overlord of Lust and Depravity had his fingers almost everywhere in the Pride Ring. It was also a shock to nobody that he would snatch up the natives to "work" for him if given the chance.
"When we found her, she was beaten severely, multiple fractures and broken bones," Bertholdt said, "Luckily Maximus had arrived with a team to rescue her. Thankfully the bastards involved were taken out and they hadn't done THAT to her."
"Oh goodness," Moxxie said, his voice barely above a a whisper.
"Maximus personally crippled Valentino for his crime, and I doubt the Overlord will be making public appearances any time soon," Bertholdt said, with a sense of vindication.
"That's a relief," Millie said, "A month back, a couple of those hookers of his were giving me the stink eye. I could've sworn they were stalking me."
Millie shivered at that and Moxxie hugged her.
"Maybe we should change the subject," Moxxie said.
"I hate to interrupt." Max called back to the group, "We'll be arriving at the manor in a minute. Try not to embarrass yourselves, especially you Blitzø."
Blitzø rolls his eyes but otherwise says nothing. As they get to the manor, they see Stolas and his daughter Octavia walk outside. Stolas is dressed in a shirt with a Loo Loo Land logo and even has a hat in the shape of the mascot for said theme park. He's also wearing black shorts. Maximus saw this and cringed a bit.
"On second thought, I should be more worried about him embarrassing himself," he muttered to himself.
"Yoo hoo Blitzy~!" Stolas exclaimed happily as he and Octavia got into the car.
"Fuck me," Blitzø groaned.
"I'm so happy to see you again!" Stolas said.
"Stolas, please take a seat," Maximus said, "The last thing we need is you hurting yourself if something happens."
"Oh of course," Stolas said taking a seat and putting his seat belt on, "Although with such amazing security, I doubt we'll have to worry."
"It's nice to see you again Octavia. Hopefully this outing is better than the last time…" Max started to say but stopped himself from saying something embarrassing about the family.
"I doubt it," Octavia said, looking like she wanted to be anywhere but in her current predicament.
The ride towards the theme park went on without much incident. Eventually the crew and the Goetia's arrived at Loo Loo Land. The troopers stepped outside, looking over the parking lot before signaling that it was safe to come out. Blitzø and the IMP crew stepped out of the van alongside Octavia, Max, and Stolas. Dakken stepped out of a second van and looked around the parking lot with crossed arms and an uncaring expression.
He looked towards the entrance of the theme park and immediately regretted his decision to listen to Max. When he walked up to the group, Stolas looked at him with surprise.
"Um…Maximus, who is this fellow?" Stolas asked.
"This is Dakken, he's an Oni," Maximus said, "He's quite reliable."
"Oh I certainly hope so," Stolas said, "I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to me or my little Owlet."
Octavia groaned in embarrassment before seeing Dakken walk past her.
"Max…you never said this place would look this shitty," he said to his friend.
"I know it's not the best place to be right now, but we have a job to do," Maximus whispered, "Just try to be hospitable for a few hours."
"Fine. But if anyone starts something, I reserve the full right to beat the shit out of them," Dakken said.
"As long as it isn't my cousin or his daughter then that's fine," Maximus said.
The group moved around the theme park, with Stolas and Millie the only ones seeming to have a good time.
"Oh I haven't been to this place since I was a tot!" Millie exclaimed, "It hasn't changed a bit! Oh Moxxie look! It's Big Wobbly!"
Millie and Moxxie looked towards a makeshift animatronic dinosaur with its head upside down. It let out a mechanical shriek that disturbed many of the troopers and Moxxie.
"That's…very disturbing," he said.
"Oh come on, you ain't telling me you've never been here before?" Millie asked.
"No…theme parks always disturbed me…especially the mascots," Moxxie said.
Loona let out a snort of amusement.
"You're scared of mascots? Really?"
"Hey there!"
Loona and Moxxie let out a shriek and she ended up jumping into his arms as they saw a large apple mascot looking at them.
"I'm Loo Loo! Welcome to Loo Loo Land!" the mascot said, "If you get hurt, just TRY to sue us!"
This guy smells like weed…and…is that the smell of semen? Dakken thought as his expression morphed to disgust.
"Look Via! It's Loo Loo!" Stolas told his daughter.
"I've got a question," Octavia said.
"Ask away, little girlie!" Loo Loo said while making an obnoxious laugh, one of his eyes dangling.
"Is it true that this theme park is just a shameless rip-off of Lucifer's far more popular Luu Luu World?" Octavia asked with a mean spirited smile.
"Uh…no?" Loo Loo replied with nervousness.
"This place reeks of insecure corporate shame," Octavia said with a glare.
Stolas gave a nervous laugh before he tried to lead Octavia away.
"Creepy chick huh?" Loo Loo said to Moxxie before he looked at Loona.
"Well hey there!" he said, "How's about you get a nice hug from Loo Loo!"
"How about you fuck off?" Loona said, still looking freaked out.
"Oh…don't be that way baby~" Loo Loo replied, his voice shifting to a deeper, flirtatious tone.
Loona cringed and was about to say something when Dakken growled and lifted Loo Loo off the ground. He then threw the mascot hard enough that he seemingly escaped into the atmosphere, a twinkle in the sky being the only sign left. Millie let out a whistle in approval.
"That's a nice throwin' arm you got there," she said.
"Thanks," Dakken said without much emotion before he kept walking to catch up to Maximus.
"I would ask if that was truly necessary, but granted that individual was probably a pedophile I'm not going to question your actions." he straightened his tie, "Just try to tone down the use of force if you can, we don't need to be thrown out of the park."
"There's only two people that actually enjoy being here," Dakken said, "Don't act like you're one of them."
"Never said I was." it was a quick and simple retort before the rather mildly agitated goetic demon walked off.
"Hey uh…thanks for that," Loona said to Dakken.
"Don't worry about it," Dakken replied.
"So um, pardon me for asking but, how did you and Maximus meet again?" Moxxie asked.
"I don't want to talk about it," Dakken said.
As the group continued to walk, Stolas noticed a tent and had a bright smile on his face.
"Oh Via look! You remember that place right? You used to cry such tears of joy when you came here!" He said.
"Oh no," Octavia and Blitzø said in unison.
Both of them remembered the rather unpleasant times they had as a result of a certain mechanical menace.
"I HATE that fucking clown," they said once again in unison.
"Let's go inside! The show's going to start soon!" Stolas said.
Octavia groaned before following him.
"Alright," Maximus said, "I need Moxxie and Millie to follow me inside. Loona, Dak, you and the others will guard the perimeter of the tent."
Maximus placed a finger to a comm link in his ear.
"How are we doing?"
"Took out a few suckers that got almost got too close, but nothing major so far," said Bertholdt on the other end.
"Very good. Inform me if anything comes up," Maximus said before turning to go inside the tent.
"Ugh…this is so stupid," Loona groaned before taking out her phone.
"Hmph."
"You're not much of a talker are you?" Loona asked Dakken.
"Not with people I don't know," the Oni replied.
"You got any friends?"
Dakken hesitated for a moment before replying.
"I do, Maximus being one of them," he said.
"Neat. What are they like?" she asked.
"Does it matter?"
"Just uh…curious is all?" Loona replied, feeling a bit awkward as the Oni gave her a sideways glare.
Dakken eventually groaned before speaking again.
"I do have a few friends," he admitted, "a couple of them are more…friends with benefits, but it's mostly platonic."
"You mean those Dragon demons you mentioned?" Loona asked.
"Yeah. It's complicated," Dakken said.
"I feel that."
A few minutes passed before Octavia ended up storming out of the tent.
"Octavia!" Stolas called out to her.
Maximus followed suit but the other IMP members didn't leave. Loona looked inside to see Blitzø, Moxxie, and Millie duking it out with Robo Fizz.
"What the actual fuck?" Loona asked.
Their fight ended up resulting in the tent burning down before Robo Fizz grabbed Blitzø and tried to throw him away, but Dakken caught him.
"Thanks," Blitzø said, "You guys go on ahead. I've got some business to settle with this fucker."
"Hmph. Try not to die before I get my paycheck," Dakken said before he and the rest of IMP went off to find Stolas.
They caught up to Maximus.
"What happened?" Dakken asked.
"Octavia had enough, that's what," Maximus said, looking visibly irritated, "Dammit Stolas!"
They eventually caught up to the Prince in question as he followed Octavia into the Fun House.
"Stay out here," Maximus ordered.
Dakken growled in annoyance before staying outside.
"What the fuck are we supposed to do in the meantime?" Loona asked.
"Well, well, well."
The two imps, Hellhound, and Oni turned to see the one who spoke. It was a tall, grey skinned demon with two forward facing horns and bright orange eyes. He was dressed like a biker with spiked gloves and was holding a chain with a large hook at the end. He was surrounded by a multitude of other biker gang demons.
"Look who it is, boys," the demon said, taking a puff of his cigar, "it's good ol' Dak."
"Well if it ain't Khan. Haven't seen your sorry ass in a hot minute," Dakken said with a smirk, "What are you doing here?"
"Oh you know why I'm here," Khan said flicking the cigar right at Moxxie's eye.
Moxxie yelped before rubbing his eye. Millie comforted her husband before taking an axe from…somewhere, and pointing it at Khan.
"Nobody messes with my Moxxie and gets away with it!" she growled before charging at him.
She didn't get far, however, as Dakken grabbed her by the collar and pulled her back.
"Stay back shorty, this one's mine," he said.
The Oni stepped forward and cracked his knuckles. Khan's goons were about to step in but he lifted his arm to keep them back.
"Watch out for the runts and the mutt. Make sure they don't interfere," he said, making Moxxie, Millie, and Loona seethe.
"So what's this about huh? Want payback for the ass whooping I gave you?" Dakken asked.
"I was the nine time reigning champion in the Underground Death Ring," Khan said, "You ended what could have been a ten win streak that day, and I'm here to even the score."
"Try it then," Dakken said, getting into a stance and making a "bring it" motion with his hand.
Khan smirked before he swung his chain. The hook flew towards Dakken's face, but the Oni dodged and then closed the distance. He then delivered an uppercut towards Khan, sending the man flying high into the air. Khan recovered before back flipping and landing on his feet. He looked up to see Dakken's foot nearly hit his face. He dodged at the last minute before grabbing the Oni's leg. He spun around before throwing Dakken away. Dakken ended up crashing into one of the carnival games, crashing into he employee as a result. Dakken broke out, purple flames appearing on his body before he charged at Khan. Khan responded in kind and all the others could do was watch.
"Octavia!" Stolas shouted, trying to find his daughter.
"Just leave me alone!" she cried out from another part of the fun house.
"Octavia please come out," Maximus said, "It's not safe for you to run around by yourself-!"
"I'M NOT A FUCKING CHILD MAX!"
Both of them heard where she was shouting from before they saw her in an Apple shaped cart. Maximus let out a sigh of relief before talking into his comm again. As he did so, Stolas went over to his daughter and sat next to her.
"I…I take it you're…not having fun?" he asked.
"I didn't even want to come here!" Octavia said, her voice straining as she continued to cry.
"I'm terribly sorry Octavia," Stolas said, "I…I thought you would enjoy being here. Maybe you'd…"
"Maybe I'd what? Forget about what you did?" Octavia asked, "I just…I just want to go home…I just want everything to go back to the way it used to be…"
Octavia his in her arms, not able to speak much anymore.
"Stolas."
Stolas heard Maximus speaking through his mind.
"You're going to need to tell her the truth."
"But…it would destroy her," Stolas responded.
"This whole situation is destroying her already," Maximus countered, "If you keep the truth from her now, then it will only make things worse down the line. Do you really need a repeat of yesterday?"
"You're right," Stolas said.
He turned to his daughter and cleared his throat before taking a few deep breaths.
"Octavia. I…I haven't been completely honest with you," he said, "Regarding me and your mother I mean."
Octavia looked at her father, wondering what he was talking about.
"Your mother and I…were arranged," Stolas continued, "Way back when I was a child my…my father had arranged for me to be married to your mother. From the moment I saw her face I was…I was terrified of her."
"You were…terrified of mum? But why?" Octavia asked.
"She's…she's always been temperamental…no, she's…she's always been cruel to me," Stolas said, shivering a little, "I haven't been happy with our marriage in a very VERY long time. We were never in love…ever."
"But…but I thought that you two…" Octavia tried to say.
"I never wanted you to see that side of us," Stolas said, "I never wanted you to be exposed to just how…vile your mother can be."
"But…then why didn't you divorce her?" Octavia asked, still in disbelief, "Was she…did she ever?"
"Multiple times," Stolas said, "Do…do you remember that black eye I had a while back?"
"You…you told me you fell down the stairs," Octavia said, her expression shifting to horror.
"Another cover up," Stolas said, shedding a tear.
"Why…why would you be forced to marry someone like that?" Octavia asked.
"As a Prince of the Goetia family, one of my main duties is to sire a precautionary heir in case anything happened to me," Stolas said, "Of course…you are that heir."
Octavia's horror grew at the implications of such a thing.
"Is…is that all I am then? A…a backup plan?"
"No!" Stolas said, looking at his daughter now and putting his hands on her shoulders, "I don't care what the Goetia family says, you will NEVER be seen as a backup plan or a last resort! The reason why I never tried to divorce your mother was for one reason. You."
"Me?"
"I have many regrets in my life, but the ONE THING that I will NEVER REGRET, is bringing you into this world Octavia," Stolas said.
He wrapped his daughter into his arms. Octavia could feel her father trembling as he held her tightly.
"You will always be my greatest achievement, my greatest treasure," Stolas continued, "You're the reason I would endure even the blades of Exterminators. And nothing will EVER change that."
"But…you suffered…because of me," Octavia said, starting to cry.
"Every father should be willing to put themselves on the line for the sake of their child," Stolas said, "Anything less and…they have no right to call themselves such. And I vowed that I would never be the man that my father was."
"Grandpa Paimon?" Octavia said.
"Yes. Though he would make claims to the contrary, he was anything but a good father," Stolas said, "He took me to the circus when I was a child too. But he did it to keep me focused on other things, not because he actually wanted to spend time with me. Fuck, he didn't even show up in person during those times, speaking through that bloody mirror of his."
"Is that…is that why you wanted me to come here?" Octavia asked.
"Yes. I wanted to be the father that he failed to be," Stolas said, "I knew you loved it when you were a child, and I wanted to recapture that joy once again. But…that clearly didn't work out."
"Dad…I'm so sorry," Octavia said, "I never knew…"
"Do not be sorry Octavia," Stolas said with a reassuring voice, "My actions are not your fault. I wasn't focusing on the bigger picture and…it's hurt the one I cherish the most."
Both of them remained quiet for a long time before Stolas started to hum the song he used to sing to her when she was so young.
"Gotta admit Dak, you haven't slacked at all!" Khan said as he swung his hook, now sporting black blood.
Dakken had a few cuts on his body but was still just as ready to fight as ever.
"Heh. If you were this strong back then, I wouldn't have washed you so easily!" he countered before getting into a different stance.
Purple flames coursed through his body before he brought his hands together. He formed a giant purple ball of flaming energy before firing it at Khan. Khan dodged the attack before swinging the hook again. Dakken jumped upwards before throwing a powerful dive kick at Khan. Khan dodged the attack and swept Dakken's legs, making him trip up. As the Oni fell, Khan raised his hook, ready to gouge him, but before he could, a bullet fired and knocked the hook out of his hand.
"That's quite enough," Bertholdt said as he and the Hellhound troopers arrived.
"Took you long enough!" Loona said.
"Sorry, had to help your boss with his clown problem," Bertholdt said, pointing his thumb at Blitzø.
Blitzø dusted himself off before taking the head of Robo Fizz and tossing it into the air.
"Good riddance bitch," he said before shooting the head into pieces.
"Who the fuck are you guys!?" Khan shouted.
"That's quite enough."
Everyone turned and saw Maximus standing at the entrance of the Fun House with his arms crossed.
"Max, let me have this one!" Dakken said, getting back up.
"Do wrap it up, I believe my cousin and Octavia are finishing their business," Maximus said.
Khan picked up his hook.
"Sorry about that," Dak said, "That distraction was unplanned. Let's continue, if you're up for it."
"Tch. Fine! I'll kill you right now!" Khan shouted.
He channeled sparks of electricity from his body and focused it into his hook. Dakken smirked before he responded in kind, his fists glowing with purple flames. Both of them clashed, resulting in a shockwave of electricity and fire. Both of them ended up flying back, with Khan crashing into his goons and Dakken crashing…right into Maximus.
A moment or two of silence passed before one of Khan's goons tried to wake him up with no success.
"Let's call it a draw," he said before they picked up Khan and got ready to leave.
Dakken groaned as he tried to get up.
"Get…off…me," Maximus said, straining under the weight of the Oni.
Dakken did get up and picked up his friend. Stolas was walking out, carrying Octavia in his arms.
"Oh dear, did we miss something?" Stolas asked.
"Oh…nothing much your highness," Moxxie said, "Just a bit of a scuffle with some ruffians."
"Oh. Well in that case, let us be off," Stolas replied, "I believe it's time for us to leave this place."
"That's probably for the best," Maximus said as he dusted himself off.
As they got ready to leave, Millie gasped as she saw a purple stuffed animal of some kind. It was from one of the carnival games that got trashed during the carnage.
"Oh look Moxxie! A Thing!" she said, pointing at it.
"Oh? You like that Thing?" Moxxie asked.
"Yes! I don't know what it is, but I want that Thing!" Millie said.
She ran over to it and hugged it tightly. Moxxie simply smiled as he took her hand and they left.
"Well at least someone had a good time today," Blitzø said, cracking his neck.
WingcommanderWhitewolf: Well that was a bit of a interesting development, sad to say I wasn't able to do much with this one, Kira beat me too it that and… well I got hurt on the 19th, took a nasty fall, trashed my leg in a badly lit apartment complex while helping my Ex run deliveries. I guess I'll be taking a flashlight from here on out.
But seriously this was well done in my opinion, the situation with Octavia, the fact that Max really has no real control over the situation much despite his own pride. Blitzo is still blitzo, and M&M still find a way to enjoy their day.
Kira192015: We'll get the next chapter out as soon as we can, but we also don't want to rush things. Leave your thoughts with reviews if you feel inclined. We'd love to hear your feedback.
