Charlie Duncan was a happy little girl. She was happy that she'll have a baby brother or sister, but lately she's afraid that everyone's gonna ignore her and not love her anymore. So one day, she was in her bedroom playing with her toys until her second older brother Gabe Duncan came in. "Hey Charlie." He said. "You mind if we have a big bro to lil' sis talk?"
"I don't know." Charlie spoke.
Gabe chuckled sadly and sat down across from her.
"Now why are you so sad all the time now?" He asked her. "Is it because mom's having another baby?"
Charlie nods her head.
"I'm scared that nobody will love me anymore." She stated.
Gabe lets out a sad sigh.
"Oh kid…come here." He started as Charlie sat on his lap. "You know that will never happen. We could never ever stop loving you."
"Really?" She asked innocently.
"Yes." He said. "We all love you so much. Even me. You're my partner in crime."
She smiled.
"Alright!" She smiled.
Gabe laughs a little.
"When the baby's here, he or she can be your partner in crime as well." He adds.
"Cool!" Charlie exclaimed.
Gabe chuckled at her.
"Ok, are you feeling better now?" He asked her.
"A little." She says. "How come you hated me when I was born?"
Gabe felt his heart break.
"Charlie, you know I would never hate you." He assured her. "And I never did."
Charlie looks down and back at her big brother.
"It just took time for me to get used to another baby in the house just like you'll be getting used to another baby in the house soon." He explained to her.
"Really?" She asks.
Gabe nods his head.
"Yes." He answers. "Come on, I'll take you out for ice cream."
They stood up and Gabe held her hand.
"Before dinner?" She asked.
"Shhh, don't tell mom or dad." Gabe smirked.
"You got it big bro!" She smiled.
Gabe chuckled and smiled at her. So they walked out of the room and out of the house to get some ice cream for a brotherly/sisterly bonding.
