Lovely

Molly's wide awake and ready to start the day. She's super excited because tonight her school's having a Halloween themed dance. She's been working hard preparing to make this dance scary but not too terrifying as there always has to be a happy ending in Molly's optimistic mind.

Molly heads downstairs, letting Scratch sleep in since she knows he's been working hard helping the ghosts in the ghost world restructure their way of life. Now that the chairman has been eliminated by Molly herself, ghosts no longer have to cause misery so he's encouraging them to follow their dreams.

Molly smiles, proud that her positivity helped Scratch grow to care for others. She can tell he's happy to be a part of the McGee family and she's glad their friendship helped him realize he doesn't have to cause misery.

Once Molly arrives downstairs, she heads to the kitchen to grab some breakfast with her family. But when she gets there she sees her Dad, Mom, and even Darryl sitting at the table with concerned looks. She sits down with them, confused but curious to know what this is all about.

"Molly, we need to talk. We just want to make sure you're doing okay after what happened when you went to the ghost world. You said you killed the chairman with kindness and we just want to understand why." Sharon said.

Molly looks away feeling guilty, but having an explanation that she hopes will be enough to convince her parents she did the right thing.

"Well, he was going to send Scratch and I to the flow of failed phantoms! Plus his way of doing things was totally messed up and ending him was the only way to stop him from continuing to cause so much misery. And now the ghost world is thriving. Scratch is helping them find their passions and things are looking up. The way I see it, it was the right thing to do." Molly replied.

Pete can tell Molly's starting to get anxious about all of this, so he tries to be understanding.

"It's okay Molly. We're just worried is all. Scratch told us it seemed like you enjoyed taking your anger out on the chairman and we just want to make sure you're okay." Pete said.

Molly's expression goes from worried to smiley in an instant, trying to convince her family, and herself, that she's fine.

"I'm fine. Better than that actually, I'm proud I was able to spread joy in a world that was full of misery. I'm going to go to school now, the Halloween dance is tonight and there's a lot that still needs to get done. I'll see you all later!" Molly said.

Before anyone can respond, Molly's already on her way out the door with a smile on her face.

Pete and Sharon look at one another slightly concerned. Then Darryl starts walking out the door to go to school.

"Darryl, can you keep an eye on Molly? She's doing that thing where she acts like everything's normal when clearly something's wrong." Sharon said.

Darryl nods and heads off to school. Normally he would be annoyed, but this time even he's worried. Molly can be eccentric and has had her fair share of hyperactive episodes, but she's never hurt anyone. So he decides to stay by her side until she's ready to talk.

Molly arrives at school, but just as she's about to open the door she stops when she sees Darryl behind her. He stands by her side, still looking slightly concerned but smiles and tries to sympathize with his sister.

"Molly, I think what Mom and Dad said might have been a bit too harsh. I know you would never do anything that dangerous or cruel unless there was a reason. You always have good intentions and I just want you to know I see you as a hero." Darryl said.

Molly tears up a bit and gives Darryl a hug. She felt so guilty about what she did, but to be told by her brother, who's always looked up to her, that she's a hero helps her feel just a bit better about all of this.

"Thank you for saying that Darryl. I did it to save Scratch and help enhappify the ghost world. I had good intentions and I'm glad you see it that way too." Molly replied.

With that, the two siblings head through the door to start the school day.

Molly stops in the gym where the dance will be and joins in to start decorating with the other students. Then she spots Libby and sits next to her. Libby's not as interested in going, she'd rather stay at home and get lost in a good fantasy novel, but she'll go for her best friend.

Libby smiles, happy to see Molly looking cheery as usual. She's been worried about her since she became a ghost and went to the ghost world, leaving her lifeless wraith body for her to look after. Molly never really talked about it after that and she just hopes she's coping well.

"Hi Molly, are you excited for the dance tonight?" Libby asked.

"Of course! I can't wait! I know mostly everything is taken care of, but we still need a good scare to end the night on." Molly replied.

Both girls sit there thinking about this for a moment. Then Molly raises her hand, excited.

"Yes, Molly?" Libby asked.

"Okay I have the best idea ever! Remember when I turned into a ghost and my body was left as a wraith. Well, what if we do something like that? Once I'm a ghost again I can haunt the dance! Scratch could help us figure out how to do it, but I'm sure it'll be easy to do again. We just need him to open another portal and I'll go through it." Molly said.

Libby looks at Molly slightly concerned, wondering why she'd want to be a ghost and leave her body in that depressing state.

"Molly, wasn't that whole experience a bit traumatic for you? I mean, your soul literally left your body and you were technically dead in a way. Why would you want to put yourself through that again?" Libby asked.

Molly gets nervous again, trying to hide it but she's never been great about lying to cover up her feelings. She knows Libby will see right through her and so she tries her best to explain.

"Well, the truth is…I just want this dance to be perfect! No, the truth is…it's Halloween so we have to go all out with this scare! I just don't want to disappoint anyone." Molly said.

Libby looks at Molly with suspicion. She knows she's lying, but she can tell she might not be ready to talk about it so she gives her the benefit of the doubt.

"Okay, we'll make this dance as spooky as ever. Just promise me you'll be careful." Libby said.

"I promise. Thanks Libby!" Molly replied.

Molly and Libby hug it out and get back to setting up the gym for the dance. Libby's still worried, but whatever crazy plan Molly has for the dance, she'll be there to protect her in case anything goes wrong.

With Libby on board with her plan, Molly decides to make an announcement. So she stands up on the stage and gives Libby a thumbs up.

"Get ready Brighton middle school! In honor of the spooky season, we're going to make this the scariest night ever!" Molly said.

The students in the gym cheer with Molly and she smiles. Something about being a ghost intrigues her and, although it was creepy being outside of her body and seeing herself look so lifeless, she did feel a sense of pure joy and freedom being a ghost. Part of her misses that and she's not going to miss this opportunity to become immortal again.

Molly laughs as the kids cheer for her, her laugh becoming slightly manic as her hyperactive excitement for what's to come overtakes her.

Libby's nervous, she's seen Molly get like this and it's definitely a cause for concern. Yet she's always impressed by how Molly gets everyone to go along with her.

Libby smiles at Molly, then turns around and speaks into her tape recorder.

"Keep an eye on Molly. She seems to be doing that thing where she gets too happy and hyperactive to the point where she becomes unhinged." Libby said.

Libby puts her tape recorder away and looks up at Molly sadly. Then when she sees Molly wave at her and she smiles and waves back. Part of her seems genuinely happy and Libby doesn't want to be the one to take that away from her.

"Molly, I just hope you're okay…" Libby whispered.
