Both machines fired up together with a glow, producing an energized portal.
"Two great machines…," he started.
"That work great together!"
"Jenny's been gone for a few cycles, wonder where she went," Drab asked.
"You think she bailed… or changed her mind about me," Vega grew uneasy.
"Maybe she went to drain some oil," Shell suggested.
Suddenly Snarus voice boomed; "attention! XJ-9 has been spotted, please remain calm, stay in your homes as we apprehend her!"
They see the video feed of the cameras chasing her throughout the city.
"Or maybe not," Shell watched.
"Jenny‽ Jenny is XJ-9‽ My girlfriend is the enemy," Vega jumped up.
"She don't seem like a bad bot," Tuff mused.
"Vega, where are going," Drab asked.
"I… don't know! Find her, clear my head… something- I just… gotta go," Vega ran out the diner seeing mass panic, "this is what happens when I think with my emotional high speed processor, and RAM, instead my logic center. Oh Jenny," she thought.
Brad and Tuck stage an assault on the robot factory, tossing paint filled balloons at the guards outside, confusing them as they shot each other, randomly firing their weapons, on the roof they drop sacks of flour as a smokescreen so new captures can escape.
"Take that, you bastards," both yell.
Once inside, they sneak up behind another guard loosening some of his bolts, causing him to rapidly lose oil and his leg joints loosened.
"Hey! You two," one yelled at them, as they ran.
All the guards start to chase, they one they sabotaged tried to grab them, the others slipped in the oil, crashing in to him, as his legs fall apart. The kids cheer, joining them, chasing the rest with tools, tripping them up, dropping heavy crates and boxes, anything to damage and incapacitate, freeing themselves from the factory. Brad found the control room, Tuck ran around damaging equipment, both causing system failures. They rushed out as quick as they could while machines seized, broke, caught fire, they watched the place go up in smoke and heard the mild explosions. Still hyped with tools in their hands; the kids join the brothers on their next mission.
Jenny found herself in an area of the city she had never been before, she stared at some large gold yellow building, with smaller ones around it, spires and pylons, running towards it when she was spotted by what looked like several soldiers or police, disappearing out of sight, running through a set of doors, closing them behind her. A moment of relief passed, when she looked up to the giant piece of artwork displaying Vexus over a large control panel. Those in pursuit start banging on the doors violently.
"Open up, we know you're in there! Unlock these doors!"
"Shit," she muttered, backing up towards the control panel, expecting the doors to give way.
"She's here in the palace," one cried out.
"This is the palace," she hit a button, the picture slid up, "this is Vexus pala- what is that‽"
Jenny walked to the secret storage that reflected a golden light with a gasp.
"The golden chips! Vexus stole them and blamed me for it!"
She turned towards a noise to see the doors were being cut in to.
"A bunch of punk ass, snot-nosed brats are foiling my plans- I don't believe it," Vexus snarled.
A bright light appeared, Nora and Sheldon stepped out.
Vexus head whipped around, surprised replaced with an amused smirk, "I haven't seen you wear that outfit in ages."
"It should remind you of the painful memory of the last time I brought you down! Care for a repeat?"
"You forget, darling; you're no spring chicken, whilst I still have twenty years on my warrantee," Vexus chuckled, "I suggest you give me what I want!"
"Not before you tell me what I need to know!"
"Where is she," they both snapped.
Jenny walked through the palace away from where the authorities were breaking in, looking for either a place to hide, or escape unnoticed. She heard mumbling, planning to avoid whomever all together, until the voice sounded familiar, peeking in a room, there was a very upset Vega.
"Vega," Jenny walked in, "what are you doing here?"
"I live here."
"Wait… don't tell me; Vexus is your mom?"
"Yeah, I figured you'd know, being the evil XJ-9," she mustered the courage, "why are you even here, to claim the palace as your own, destroy my people," she got in her face, "I guess all of what I thought we were was fake! You lied to me and kept it a secret who you were," she pushed and pushed her back towards where she came from, "I trusted you, XJ-9, I… I trusted our worst enemy!"
"Or maybe this is all a ploy by your royal bitchiness, Vexus! I guess you're as conniving as she is, huh‽ You both set this up to get me once and for all," Jenny got back in her face, "the only lies here is from you and this… this propaganda slandering me! I'm not a monster- you and your mom are the monsters," she unfurled a medium laser cannon, shooting through the wall, Vega started to cower, "and to think… I thought I found somebody that actually understood me… somebody that… that made me understand what love is for the first time in my life!"
Vega cowered, hoping Jenny wouldn't turn that cannon towards her, "you… you… were falling in-," she was cut off by the authorities breaking in.
"There she is, right there!"
Jenny collapsed her weapon, and ran, they chased her through the hole she made, Vega looked to see if there were more, catching the bright gold glow, she walked in the room and saw the rows of gold chips stored away in the secret compartment. Jenny didn't steal and destroy the chips, her mom stole them. Suddenly a pain tugged at her, she wondered if Jenny was there, and her mom wasn't, and Jenny wasn't the enemy, what was her mom actually doing, and where was she at. She tried to call her ship and nobody answered, she contacted Smytus, no answer, finally she called Krakus, who did.
"Why are you calling me, Vega," he snapped.
"I was just wondering what you all were doing, where you were at?"
"You know those things are -hold on- stop running from these human filth pest! Enslave them, destroy them, don't run from them! Now Vega; what was it you needed?"
"Umm… I just wanted to make sure you all were okay, and to wish you luck."
"Oh thank you, child," she could hear the smile in his voice.
"Oops, there's my friends, gotta go," she hung up, "oh no… oh no… humans are… we're the bad guys! Jenny!"
Nora and Vexus are fighting, each struggling to get the upper hand, Sheldon tried to figure out how to help, grabbing a fire extenguisher to give Vexus a few hits.
"Will you knock it off," Nora yelled after getting hit twice.
"Tell me where she is," Vexus growled, pinning Nora down.
"I don't care who you're looking for, I won't tell you anything, until you tell me where Jenny is!"
"What," Vexus was surprised, "you don't know?"
"No! I thought you had her!"
Sheldon started whining, "if you don't have her, and you don't have her; that means she's really missing!"
"We'll find her."
"She could be anywhere between here and Cluster Prime!"
"Cluster Prime‽ That's why they won't stop calling me," Vexus ran to an escape shuttle and took off.
"This isn't over, if we can infuse the ion-," she was cut off.
"We don't have time for that shit, Jenny needs me," he hotwired the ship and took off for Cluster Prime.
A few drones watch the ship leave, getting ambushed by kids in trees above them, and taken apart.
"We can do it, we can stop them, we haven't met a robot yet, we can't destroy," Brad chanted on top a pile of robot parts.
"Then you haven't met me, yet," Smytus grabbed him, "your game ends now, call off your pint sized militia, or breath your last breath!"
"Never!"
"So be it," he smiled.
Jenny's running from police blasting at her with staffs, pushing the citizens out of the way, trying to keep their attention on her, she got hit twice, managing to fly towards a high ladder, taking one more shot to the back, that sent her crashing to the ground.
"Move, move," one officer yelled, trying to get through the crowd.
"This is impossible… call the air force," another cried.
Jenny laid on her back, vision clearing up to Vega and her friends standing over her.
"Vega? Come to hold me for the police," she sat up.
"I saw you save all those citizens from the authorities. I wanna help."
"Why should I trust you," Jenny snapped.
"Because… my mom is wrong about you, she stole the chips. I'm not my mom. I'm nothing like her! You, you're the girl of my dreams, Jenny, please trust me. I found out my moms on earth trying to enslave your people."
Jenny just looked at her.
"I just wanna help you- I love you, okay‽ I love you too," she looked like she was going to cry.
"How're you supposed to help?"
"With these."
The four of them pulled out a gold chip each, and inserted in themselves.
