Hi everyone, it's Yuuguregurl21!

So yeah, it's been awhile since I've uploaded anything here, mainly because I've been procrastinating and been steering away from my stories due to writers' block. But all in all, I hope to get back in the writer's saddle with more of my chapters for Shinobi Journalist ~Shikigi~ and hopefully new stories involving new fandom such as 'Pride & Prejudice', 'The Dragon Prince', 'Naruto' and so on and so forth.

Since my hiatus, I've been hooked on a show called 'The Dragon Prince', a tale of three young heroes undertake a dangerous journey to return a baby dragon back to his mother and finally stop a centuries-long war between the Human World and the magical lands of Xadia. I've binge-watched the show almost a dozen times, read fanfictions about the show, including a story on Ao3 called 'Sweet Sun' by Little_Punk_Bee and I've thought of writing a fanfic of my own.

It's called 'Caelesti Lunaris' but with a different twist. Now, you're might be wondering what it's is about but it's actually quite simple really. It features genderswap characters like 'Raylan' (Male!Rayla), Calla (Fem!Callum), and it goes a bit differently than the canon.

Caelesti Lunaris: (In this story, most of the characters' genders are switched and a theorized look on Fem!Callum's heritage since in the canon, the MC is biracial; so don't give me grief, please and thank you.)

Overview: The Caelestians were a group of nomadic Humans who resided in a place called the 'Village of Caella' about 20-30 miles away from the Moonshadow Forest before Humanity's exile to the West. No one knows for sure how they came to be but it's said that by studying the elements of nature, the flora and the fauna, the Caelestians combined their studies and their love for dancing, they developed a unique fighting style that remains unsurpassed in the present-day era.

Following an tragic incident and Humanity's banishment to the West, the Caelestians soon went their separate ways and developed 4 different clans as a result. Each clan is named after the founder and each culture is styled after a season or anything associated with it, everything from fashion to their beliefs.

The Caelestians has a moral compass, firmly believing that all life is sacred no matter whose it is; viewing the practice of Dark Magic as an act of betrayal to the Unicorns' kindness which drove the magnificent species to extinction and to Humanity's eventual banishment to the West.

Not much is know about the Caelestians except there existed a certain 'mutual understanding' between them and the Moonshadow Elves.

Notable Caelestians:

- Calla (Princess of Katolis/Mage/Queen of the Caelestians)

- Caleb (Vice Captain of the Crownguard/Leader of the Zephyra Clan)

- Avery † (Former Captain of the Crownguard/Former Leader of the Zephyra Clan)

- Amelia (Lady-in-Waiting)

- Adam (Medical Physician/Member of the Aqua Clan)

- Queensguard (Caelesti Valkyria)

Notable Locations:

- Village of Caella (Formerly)

- Arcenciel Grove (Currently)

Trivia:

- The Caelestians are the Northern European equivalent of Western Katolian Heritage.

- The Caelestians are rather fond of the famous Rainstorm Blossom and adopted it as their clan's symbol. They are also extremely fond of the Xadian Twin-tailed Merchat.

- According to Skor, the Caelestians were widely-renown throughout all of Xadia, especially among the Moonshadow Elves due to their love for the Arts and for their Humanitarian ways.

- Due to their Humane traditions, the Caelestians abstain from eating red meat and are strictly vegetarian/vegan. According to Calla, Caelestian cuisine is entirely made out of legume beans, surimi paste and herbs which is based off of real-life protein substitutes called 'soy meat' and 'imitation crab meat'. Just by eating a hanbāgu sandwich (or 3 sandwiches) alone is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man.

- According to Calliope, a Caelestian warrior participates in a ritual to uphold her 'Oath to the Caelestians' before her journey ends.

- Caleb states that the Circlet symbolizes a Caelestian girl's maidenhood and reflects her status as an unmarried woman upon birth and can only be removed by a female member of her family before she receives a wedding crown.

- Most of the Caelestian accessories, such as Calla's Circlet and Caelesti's Necklace, are based off of real-life Viking Girl's Kransen in Scandinavian culture.

- Caelesti's Necklace is an important historical artifact within the Zephyra Clan and is passed down through the clan leader's bloodline as a family heirloom. It pays an homage to Katara's Necklace in ATLA.

- The Caelestian Language is composed of real-life European/Canadian French.

In this story, Calla is a young Muse-in-Training, Raylan is a sensitive cinnamon bun, Claude being a bubbly-but-surprisingly-vindictive Dark Mage Apprentice; Ezran being the same height as Queen Aanya, Soren and the rest ensemble are the same as the canon, Claude being somewhat sexist and Viren still being his usual power-hungry self but commits acts of murder to hide the fact that he stole Zym's egg, Etharia being a lovely craftswoman, Runaan being his broody self and Janai being a 'tall, dark and fiery handsome' Sunfire General who later becomes Amaya's 'Tsundere' love interest', asexual fluffiness between Raylan and Calla/Amaya and Janais, lovey-dovey Rutharia moments, siblings being there for each other. This preview features 'Mirror, Mirror' from RWBY 'White Trailer' so I thought it suits the theme.

P.S., I do not own 'The Dragon Prince' or anything related to the franchise but I do own OCs that will debut in time.

*~Everyone has their own sorrow and endured the pain that came with it regardless of birth, for the heart bleeds the same...~

~(Katolis Castle, Katolis – Few weeks later)~

Almost 2 weeks have passed since King Harrow had slain the King of the Dragons, *'Thunder', and news of the said feat have spread across the *Pentarchy like wildfire, mainly across the Kingdom of Katolis for they have finally avenged their fallen Queen, the late Queen Sarai.

"My king, I proposed that we hold a celebration in 1 week's time in honor of your victory against Thunder."

To commemorate the victory, the High Mage of Katolis, Lord Viren proposed to hold a celebration in honor of King Harrow's successful feat, oblivious to the latter's inner turmoil, for the High Mage was in high spirits following Thunder's downfall.

"Begin the preparations and have the Crow Lord send out invites to the other Kingdoms and to many other dignitaries as well."

Wasting no time, Lord Viren commanded the Royal staff as they begun preparing for the party and sending out the invites. Endless hours soon gave way to a whole week as the preparations went underway before the other rulers have arrived along with many other dignitaries of great importance as well as the citizens of Katolis before Viren sees that King Harrow was still not in a festive mood.

"Princess, you know what to do."

Wanting to cheer up his lifetime friend, Lord Viren decides to have the King's eldest stepdaughter, the *'Songbird of Katolis', to be the opening act for the celebration, despite the latter was reluctant to do so.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting Her Royal Highness… Princess Calla of Katolis."

The High Cleric, Opeli soon grabs everyone's attention as she announces Princess Calla, much to the delight of the other rulers' heirs and noblemen sons' for the Princess was a lovely sight to 'lo and behold.

"… … …"

*She was a young girl with long dark brown hair styled in a neat French-braid held together with a navy-blue ribbon and green eyes, donning a *silver woven circlet upon her head – She wore a floor-length bell-sleeved white dress underneath a navy-blue overdress tied with a silvery-blur sash followed by a thigh-length red shawl and a set of black heels along with *a storm-colored medallion attached to a liberty-blue choker.

"… … …"

The audience applauds for the princess before the harp plays a soft tune tinged with melancholy; silencing them as the melody fills every corner of the courtyard, Calla closes her eyes and starts to sing.

~Mirror, tell me something~

The fire torches burns gently as they light up every inch of the courtyard as the clouds obscured the night sky, shrouding the capital in total darkness yet Calla presses onward with her performance as soft tunes filled the air.

~Tell me who's the loneliest of all…?~

And while she sings, the view sinks down into darkness until it unveils a teenage Moonshadow Elf boy with white shoulder-length hair tied in a half-ponytail accented with a single long braid and violet eyes – Donning with a waist-length dark blue hood, he wore a dark teal/navy suit secured by a dark blue vest accented with dark brown straps followed by a dark brown belt embellished with a silver brooch along with knee-high boots and bracers.

"… … …"

He remains silent as a group of shadowed soldiers, all armed to the teeth before their king signaled the charge as they raced at the young assassin with the intent to kill before the latter back-flips away just in time as the quiet melody grows into a tempo with violins and percussion speeding up whilst he readies himself for the fight.

~Mirror, tell me something~

With swift reflexes, he unsheathes his twin blades and darts forward, landing swift hits on the cannon fodder before he jumps overhead and lands onto the ground like a flower upon water.

~Tell me who's the loneliest of all?~

He then makes his way towards the king but darts away from the incoming attack and lands several hits on the enemy, only for the opponent to parry each one effortlessly.

~Fear of what's inside of me~

The king retaliates when he swings his sword upward and hits the young assassin's blades, which he brings up just in time till he's been pushed back, slowing down a little before he looks up to see the King bringing his sword down on him, then swinging it back up in an effort to get the fast-moving assassin.

~Tell me can a heart be turned to stone?~

He hits the king's blade again but he gets knocked over until he rolls back on his feet and launched himself at the king despite the latter's attempts to slash at him as he twirls all around him, leaping in the air. Afterwards, the King aims at his feet, the young Elf leaps over it, only to be forced back several feet with a punch to the face, sending him flying several feet across the field.

"Ugh..."

Ignoring the pain, he tries to get back up again only his attempt to do so is weak and unsure before everything fades to black till the clouds part, the moonlight showers Calla with its celestial glow as she vocalizes a operatic note, her eyes remained closed before the scene changes back to the young Elf as he eyes his opponent with resolute determination.

"… … …"

Now cleared, the moon shines brightly upon him with its light and he re-brandished his twin blades, causing its mechanism to switch from hooks to blades in one go.

"… … …"

Feeling the power of his people's Primal Source surging through his body, he enters his Moonshadow Form as it caused his body to turn nearly invisible. Filled with confidence, the would-be assassin takes out silver shuriken and throws them at the king as he destroys them, shattering them all as if they were glass before the Elf charges at the enemy king.

~Mirror, mirror, what's behind you?~

Undaunted, the king swings his sword in hopes of killing his killer by bisecting him single-handily but the young Elf jumps up overhead and slashes at the king, disarming the latter altogether.

~Save me from the things I see!~

With the playing field all even up, he brings up his two blades and beckons the king, daring him into making the wrong move.

~I can keep it from the world~

The king charges at the young Elf but he spins out of the way and sends his enemy flying into the air with a roundhouse kick.

~Why won't you let me hide from me?~

Not wasting any time, the Elf broke into a sprint towards the airborne King and brandish his weapons again as they shone like sliver when bathed in the light of the Full Moon.

~Mirror, mirror, tell me something~

With one final leap into the air, the young Elven warrior delivers the coup de grâce to the king, killing him in one fell swoop.

~Who's the loneliest of all?~

As he lands safely onto the giant root, the enemy king falls to the ground in defeat before he shatters into a thousand of lights, the young assassin closed his eyes in silence as the scene fades back to Calla.

~I'm the loneliest of all~

She stayed silent till the audience roared in applause, so ignorant and blissfully unaware of its meaning, startling Calla as she looks around in a daze before she faced her audience and bows in a curtsy.

~(Later on...)~

Afterwards, the celebration went off without a hitch as the guests engaged in conversation, mostly about politics, internal affairs and who's marrying who but mostly everyone went on about King Harrow's victory.

"If you ask me, the elves and the dragons had it coming, constantly underestimating Humanity's strength."

"And now it's their turn to be backed into a corner."

"The Elves were foolish enough to put their trust in the Dragons and look what happen."

"It serves them right, now they too can feel the sting of loss that we all have felt for centuries."

"Here, here!"

"The princess's performance was splendid, wasn't it? Such beauty and grace, just like her mother."

"I agree! She must be thrilled now that Queen Sarai has been finally avenged!"

"Most definitely!"

Hearing such vicious talk about the deceased King of the Dragons, Calla excuses herself under the pretense of getting a beverage, ignoring the ever-growing gossip in favor of gazing upon her late mother's portrait along with the late Queens of Duren, hoping that it might bring the young princess some semblance of comfort but to no avail.

"Long live the Kingdom of Katolis!"

"Long live King Harrow!"

"… … …"

Despite the cheers, Calla couldn't help but to feel a sense of dread in her heart before she looks up at the full moon with a worried expression about the uncertain future, unaware that the wheels of Fate have begun to spin come Spring's Last Turn.

Footnotes:

(*) The intro card foreshadows the pain that Calla, Raylan and Zubeia had to endure following the loss of their loved ones and how they're aren't that different from each other.

(*) The 'Songbird of Katolis' is Calla's nickname due to her status as the '10th Muse of Song and Dance'.

(*) Think of Calla having Toph's hair length/fringe and Sarai's braided hairstyle altogether. I found the dress on pinterest and it's very beautiful very befitting for the fashion of TDP.

(*) This features 'Mirror, Mirror' from RWBY 'White Trailer' so I thought it suits the theme. The song foreshadows Calla masking her emotional turmoil following her parents' deaths as Raylan's lack of killing intent like most Elves as well as his doubts about being an assassin.

(*) A 'storm-coloured madallion'? Hmm, now why does that sound so familiar?

Stay tuned for Chapter 1, folks! And I DO NOT OWN THE DRAGON PRINCE OR ANYTHING RELATED TO THEM!
