I sat on the floor of the living room pouring bars of chocolate into a plastic bowl. Me and Johnny were going to pass out candy to the early trick-or-treaters while the rest of the gang went to a party at the Shepherds. Once it got dark we'd meet up and go trick-or-treating, and then throw pranks and cause chaos.
"Hey, Johnnycakes, should we add some Jolly ranchers?" I asked.
"Um, ya." Johnny shrugged. "They'll probably be kids who can't have chocolate."
I nodded and got up to get the bag of hard candy. Dally was in the kitchen rummaging through our fridge.
"Do y'all not have any beer?" He asked. I shook my head. "Bummer." He sighed, grabbing a soda.
"Are you and Johnny sure you don't want to come to the party?" He asked me.
"Dar thinks it'll be too rough for me." I rolled my eyes. "I wanted to pass out candy to the kids anyway, so I guess it doesn't really matter."
Dally shrugged and walked out to the living room, turning on the Tv.
I followed and sat back next to Johnny on the floor. He was painting on a plastic mask Two had swiped for him the other day.
"It's looking good, Johnny." I smiled. He grinned, cheeks turning pink.
Soda popped out of our room then. "Hey Pony, you seen my black shirt? The one with the sleeves cut off."
"Ya, I think it's under the bed." Soda nodded and went back in our room.
Steve and Two-bit showed up ten minutes later, faces covered by plastic masks. Two's was a mickey face, and Steve's was a vampire.
"Check out these cool masks we found!" Two-bit said excitedly. "Think I'll wear this one instead of that baby face."
"Where is that baby one?" Dally asked. "I'll wear it."
"Dally with a baby face? Don't you think that'll ruin your rep?" Dally rolled his eyes, shoving Two when he handed him the mask.
"Is everyone ready?" Darry asked. He wore all black like everyone else, and had a boogey-man mask.
"Ya!" The gang shouted in unison. "Alright, let's head out so we aren't late." He said. "You two be good, and meet us at the DX in two hours." He pointed to me and Johnny.
"We will, Darry." I promised.
