Chapter 1: Blue Meets World

A world layered in hidden flames.

A world of envious shadows.

A world of destroyed egos.

A world where pride rules.

A world without envy.

A world of empty promises.

A world in need of a hero and a villain.

Musutafu City, Japan

The flames roared inside the building as Nejire ran through it.

Ducking to miss the hot pipes and flaming ceiling that was hanging, Nejire idly wondered if she should even be there.

She wondered if it was safe for her to be in the place without the protective equipment that would protect her from inhaling any dangerous chemicals.

Nejire grunted as she pulled apart a thick metal door and continued her climb to the top of the building. Even as it began to shake and the building seem to start tilting, she still continued to climb.

'This is a really tall building.' The hero-in-training mused.

Nejire couldn't help but think. Normally, she would have just flown but the debris kept falling all around the building and there were too many villains that could fly outside.

She was on her own without any backup.

It was up to her to rescue the hostages trapped on the roof—

An explosion was heard.

Nejire was slammed right into a pillar. It were times like this that she wanted to just simply float to the top so badly, but she knew she needed to save her energy. It would be hell if she ran out of energy in mid-fight.

The blue flames around her triggered a subconscious response. She yearned to get away; however, she knew it would be worse outside.

Climbing up another set of stairs, she was halfway when she heard the sound of concrete breaking. Nejire looked up and saw the stairs collapsing under the weight of a large industrial freezer.

Jumping back into the room in front of the stairs, Nejire saw the freezer demolish the back half of the stairs. Turning around to use another exit, she was forced to climb the stairs as the fire was getting closer.

Nejire grunted while she managed to make her way up to the last five flights of stairs. Opening the roof door, she saw Dabi there with his arms spread wide. Turning back to her, he smirked.

He held up a remote and Nejire's eyes widened. Shooting off a spiral energy blast toward him, she tried to knock it out of his hand. Dabi instead sent out a massive flame wave.

Rolling mid-air and out of the way, Nejire struck from the sides and tackled him down. Dabi tried to push down the trigger on the remote but Nejire managed to grip his fingers and stop him from pulling the trigger.

They wrestled like that for a minute before Dabi managed to kick her off. He ran towards the edge and jumped, giving Nejire the two-fingered salute right before he pulled the trigger.

The building then exploded.

Somewhere in Another World

Dabi awoke in a field. Looking around in the distance, he could see a city. As he got up, he wondered if he was dreaming. He was supposed to distract the heroes just until Shigaraki could do whatever he needed to. After the trigger was pulled, the explosion would hide his getaway.

He shook his head and started walking towards the city. He wondered where he was. The fields were peaceful, yet it held an aura like something bigger roamed there.

Walking up to the walls, he found an empty archway that led into the city. There were no guards. odd.

Strolling further into the city, Dabi was instinctively hit with a sense of familiarity, but at the same time, he knew nothing was remotely familiar. He supposed it was due to the number of animal-like Quirks that were in Japan.

"You!"

Dabi turned around and was met with a blue-haired girl slamming right into his chest. Feeling startled, Dabi didn't expect to be tackled. He felt weirdly awkward with her in her arms. looked around and saw how everything seemed to be in medieval-western times.

Pushing her away, he missed the glint in her eyes.

"How could you disappear even after you ruined me? See, I had to go cut my hair because of you!" While saying all of that, Nejire held her hair up to his face in a childish manner.

Dabi looked around and began to notice the disapproving stares. Many women looked at him as if he were the worst scum on Earth.

The villain glared at Nejire and knocked her hand out of his face.

"Stop it. You're giving people the wrong idea." He looked around and noticed that people were staring at both of them with interest. Dabi figured they would have someplace to be by now. Looking back down, Nejire seemed to not realize the crowd she had drawn.

"But that night was filled with such heat. My skin still crawls thinking about it." Nejire began expressing the trauma that Dabi caused her.

After hearing that, Dabi sighed in annoyance and decided that walking away would be better. He needed to figure out where he was and the blue-haired idiot wouldn't stop him. Huffing, he slunk into an alleyway while the hero-in-training clung to him like a petulant child.

'Remind me how she's a pro-hero with the mind of a child.' Dabi noted.

The two stopped as three men stepped in front of them, Dabi internally groaning at the numerous things getting in his way. Looking at the three figures, Dabi could tell they were amateurs at best and incompetent at worse. There was a tall one who was skinny. He had white hair and tried to go with this bloodthirsty look but just ended up looking stupid. The fat one, however, had all the markings of brawn and no brains. The last one was a short guy who reminded him of that small kid from Class-1A.

"Now looky here boys."

"We got a good one."

God, somebody kill him now. Those lines were so basic that it hurt his ears. Dabi looked back at Nejire, and realized that she just stared at the three stooges in curiosity. He facepalmed. Leave it to her to not have any caution whatsoever.

While fighting her, she was serious, but now he felt like he was looking at a child. Although, he could understand Toga did the same thing. But not to this extreme.

"Coming through! Out of my way!"

Snapping out of his thoughts, he was shoved to the side by some blond little girl running past the group, hopping up to the roof, and then continued to run out of sight.

Looking back to the three guys, they seemed more pissed than before. As soon as they took a step forward, Dabi did the same thing, and lit the right half of his body in blue flames. The hoodlums' faces went ghostly pale at the sight.

The short one stepped back and seemed to be the first of the trio to leave. While the fat one began to turn, the tall one fell on his ass, but managed to get up and made a run for it.

"Halt. Return what you stole. Please, it's important."

Dabi then saw a beautiful silver-haired half-elf girl standing on the other side of the alleyway. The thief trio seemed to be trapped between the two parties in the hallway. The tall one pulled out a long blade that was closer to a dagger than a short sword.

As soon as he started charging at the half-elf, icicles appeared in the air. Halting in his tracks, he tried to reason with the only person not smirking as a demon would.

"We ain't steal nothing from ya."

The girl seemed to frown before a small cat-like creature appeared from her hair. "Lia, they don't seem to be lying." Puck confirmed.

Nodding, the girl stepped to the side and the three thieves ran out of the alleyway faster than Dabi thought they could.

Dabi then realized Nejire wasn't there. He looked around and spotted no trace of the bluenette. Focusing on the silver-haired girl, he noticed where she was looking and followed. Up on the roof was where said bluenette was.

"Is your friend okay?" Nejire probed.

"Umm yes?" Emilia answered awkwardly, noting that Nejire was in a very close proximity.

Frowning, they stared for a bit before Nejire began to jump up and down, and started hitting the half-elf with questions.

"Ooo, you have very pretty hair. Did you dye it? What's your Quirk? Is that your pet? How's it floating? It's pretty, can I pet it?"

From how both the girl and the flying cat looked, Dabi wasn't the only one getting dizzy. The villain sighed and put his hand on her mouth.

"Save all questions for when I'm not around." Dabi said, sounding irritated. "Mhmhmhmhm," came the muffled voice from Nejire.

The muffled reply was all it took to reassure him. Once Dabi let go of his hand, Nejire pointed out the alleyway and spoke:

"I think your thief went that way."

Emilia smiled and thanked the two before running. Smiling back, Nejire's energy seemed to double. The silver-haired girl seemed to double back.

"Sorry, but I can't leave a debt unpaid." The half-elf said.

Dabi and Nejire looked at each other before the latter stepped forward. "Well, you see, we're new here and if you just let us travel with you that would be super helpful."

Dabi frowned; he was just going to find another group to join with. Hopefully, he could make a living that way. He looked around and it seemed as if the technology wasn't as advanced as his country back home.

He was shaken out of his thoughts as Nejire pulled his arm in the direction they were going in. Mentally resigning himself to being this girl's keeper, he silently followed along. Hey, looking at the half-elf, she seemed sheltered in a way only the rich could be.

He was hoping he could just find a way to stay at her place. She seemed like the type.

Several Hours Later

After traveling all day Nejire, Dabi, and Emilia all found themselves in the slums. Dabi could feel the misery of this place just by looking at it.

Emilia wondered why it was so quiet while Nejire was curious as to the people who lived here. As they walked through the slums, they were receiving dirty looks and suspicious glances.

Nejire broke off from the group to help a young man. The man had black hair and sharp eyes and was fairly skinny to the point where it bordered on malnourishment. He was missing his right arm and left eye. He wore bloodied bandages all over his arm and torso. When Nejire walked over, he was trying to reapply the loose bandages on his legs.

Looking at the group that approached him, he desperately stumbled back, shaking his head in caution and fear.

"Oh no, don't worry, I'm here to help." Nejire approached him with both arms up and a soft smile

Emilia followed behind her with glowing orbs at her side. Together they managed to heal some of the cuts and helped reapply the bandages.

Staring up at the three in shock, he looked relieved. "T-thank you, miss. Um, if you're looking for Felt, she hides at the loot house. If you tell her 'lion said hi,' then she'll give you whatever she stole from you."

He scampered off but not before pointing his finger in the direction of the loot house.

Nejire and Emilia smiled happily and both walked in that direction while Dabi just silently followed.

'For the free housing at the mansion.' The villain tried to convince himself to continue on the pointless journey.

They finally reached the loot house after a minute. As soon as they knocked on the door, they heard a cheerful little girl's voice, "That's probably for me."

The door opened so fast that Nejire's fist traveled right through its previous location. The blonde girl's smile faded once she saw Emilia.

"What are you doing here!" Felt exclaimed, drawing her dagger as she jumped back.

"Please return what you stole from me. If you don't, then I will use force if necessary." Emilia said firmly.

Seeing both Nejire and Emilia geting ready for a fight, Dabi decided to follow their lead and engulf his shoulders in blue fire. Once the three of them used what appeared to be magic, the giant man behind the blonde girl tried to reason with her.

However, as if remembering the passcode that would avoid all of this, Nejire spoke up: "Wait, lion said hi."

Felt's eyes widened. "Wait…you know 'bro?'"

Emilia was shocked to find out that that injured guy from earlier was her "brother." But before anyone could respond, the blonde girl continued:

"Where did you find him and was he doing okay? Please tell me he's okay." Dabi smirked. "Well, if you find his other arm then maybe."

Felt's eyes began to water, and Nejire smacked Dabi in the head after he made that snide remark.

Looking back at the blonde girl in front of them, they didn't see sadness but rage. Felt quickly ran past them and was about to make a break for it, but then the giant old man behind her stopped her by picking her up like a cat.

"Let me go Rom! I need to find him, or at least let me tear that bitch a new one!"

"Felt, stop, you and I both know he'd never let you get anywhere near her." Rom scolded, barely holding on to Felt.

Setting the blonde girl down on the chair while she pouted furiously, the giant old man turned back to the four and gazed at them with interest.

"Sorry 'bout that. Whatever Felt took, she'll give it back." Rom sighed.

"Please return my insignia. It's really important." Emilia said.

Still pouting, Felt handed back the insignia only for a wall of ice to form around Emilia right as a curved knife slammed into it. Felt jumped back and pulled out her dagger and stared up at the ceiling.

"Oh my, most people don't even realize I'm there, much less fast enough to block me," said the black-haired assassin woman.

The floating cat smirked before turning to Dabi. "Thanks for the warning by the way."

"I didn't give you a warning." The villain retorted, not knowing that the cat spirit sensed his cautious emotions from earlier.

Puck frowned, but before he could continue, the assassin woman continued her attack. First, Rom stepped in and tried to smash her skull in with his massive club. The black-haired woman dodged the side swipe, then slammed her curved knife into Rom's shoulders.

When the old giant went down and yelled in pain. Felt tried to avenge Rom, but before she could be split in half by a golden light, the blonde girl's dagger became imbued with her Divine Protection of Wind, and bounced off the assassin's golden glowing armor radiating from the feathered cloak.

'So the assassin is a Yang magic user?' Emilia observed.

Slamming into the wall, Felt didn't sustain a single scratch, and laughed as she got up. "You're gonna get it now."

The black-haired woman took a single step forward and all her armor vanished. The armor then reappeared as a beautiful golden cage, keeping her still and safe. The assassin took the opportunity to make a slash at Nejire, who just blew the "vampire" away with the yellow energy spiral.

Slamming into the back wall, the assassin sped up. Dabi directed his blue fire at her while Emilia fired more ice crystals.

Eventually, though, Dabi could feel his skin burning and Nejire was getting tired. They were both overusing their Quirks while the sun was setting.

"Lia, it's getting dark." Puck pointed out.

"I know, Puck, just hang in there a little longer." The half-elf replied.

Now backed up against the cage, the three needed some miracle.

Suddenly, massive beams began to strike the loot house. Puck immediately put up a thick ice barrier around the four of them. After the ice formed, the assassin's golden cage began to form around the ice dome. As the dome shook violently, everyone wondered what was going on.

After the shaking stopped and the golden armor retreated, the ice dome dissipated. Looking around, the loot house as well as the surrounding buildings were destroyed.

"Is everything alright here?"

Dabi felt his eyebrow twitch. The entire house was destroyed and the unknown voice had to ask if everything was alright. Turning to the voice in question, they saw a tall red-haired man. He wore a white coat with a black undershirt.

Nejire noticed how he would occasionally stutter in his movements like one unsure of what to do. He reminded her of Tamaki. Shaking those thoughts away in her head, Nejire approached the new person.

"Was that you who sent that barrage on us?" The wave motion wielder began bombarding him with her endless curiosity. "What kind of Quirk was that?! Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!"

Reinhard looked confused momentarily, but regathered his professionalism. "No, there's only one man who could do this much damage from afar."

But why?

Shaking his head, the knight trailed off towards the middle, and what he found was a sound of a blonde girl crying to get their attention.

"Old man Rom! Hey, wake up! Please wake up! Come on don't let big bro see you slacking! Rooooommmm!" Felt's eyes were brimming with tears.

Reinhard rushed to help but it was too late to save the giant. He went to offer his condolences to the girl only to have his hand smacked away.

"Get away! You bastard. Big bro told me all about you. you. you. Monster!" Felt continued to cry on Rom's lifeless form.

Nejire walked up to the sad girl, and Felt instantly latched on to the Big Three member. Meanwhile, Dabi simply looked in the opposite direction with his arms crossed as if nothing had happened.

After a while, Felt calmed down enough to give Emilia back her insignia. Walking away from the loot house, Felt disappeared into the night.

Before Emilia, Nejire, and Reinhard could stop Felt, a carriage pulled up next to the loot house, and a pink-haired maid stepped out.

"There you are, Emilia-sama, I was so worried." The maid bowed as she spoke in a voice without inflection, and holding all the professionalism required of a maid. Emilia walked towards her and motioned for the two off-worlders to join them.

Emilia bowed to Reinhard, and thanked him for his time, and she asked if the other two wanted to join her in the carriage. Dabi immediately agreed to go for "reasons" while Nejire felt unsure.

"Are you sure? I wouldn't want to be a burden." The U.A. student asked.

"Oh, it's completely fine, don't worry." The half-elf reassured.

Nejire smiled brightly and cheered as she hopped into the carriage. Nejire and Emilia waved to Reinhard as they left while Dabi just silently followed the two girls.

Later

After everyone was long gone, the same bandaged-up man who Nejire and Emilia helped earlier in the slums approached the destroyed loot house. Stepping to a specific pile of rubble, he spoke, "stop playing dead, I know you're there." He waited a few moments before the rubble began to shift.

"Elsa Granhiert." The man said.

Gabbing the woman by the throat, he began to squeeze it roughly. When she began choking, he frowned.

"Hmm, it seems as if my bombardment was too much even for you. Pity. Well, I have an offer you can't refuse."

He squeezed the assassin harder to get the point across.

"You and your little partner Meili Portroute will join me." He paused before a sinister smirk came on his face.

Elsa stared at the madman in front of her. He held her in one hand and in another one was a shining golden sword with a red handle and a slim golden hilt with two lustrous blue gems with magenta butterflies in them.

The Archbishop of False Pride finally made his move. And soon, so would Pride of Vollachia. He scoffed, that man and him would never get along.

Meanwhile

The carriage was loud as Emilia and Nejire were bonding.

"I love your blue hair," the half-elf complimented as she smiled warmly. "It reminds me of someone I know."

"Thanks, I love how long yours is. Mine used to be long but thanks to somebody I have to go short." Nejire sent a dirty look towards Dabi, who just ignored her in favor of sleeping.

BOOM

Many Years Ago; Before Dabi and Nejire's Arrival to Lugnica

Theresia van Astrea stared at the White Whale defiantly.

At some point during the main battle, the Sword Saint had lost her Divine Protection. Now she was only relying on her skill and remaining power. She just hoped it would be enough to defeat the massive Mabeast.

Jumping on top of the whale's head, she went to deliver a strong slash only to be thrown off and onto the ground. Slamming down with a grunt, Theresia stared down the Mabeast's massive open mouth with regret.

Regret for all the things she would leave behind.

Regret for all the things she left unsaid.

Regret for the one choice she made.

"Sorry, I couldn't be there for you. As you were for me, my friend." Theresia's reminiscing thoughts began to flood with memories of the one she held dear to her heart.

Tears formed in her eyes as she lamented on the one person she failed the hardest. As the White Whale's shadow loomed over her, she felt an unimaginable power flooding her surroundings.

Slam!

She saw the White Whale's head jerk to the side. The left side of its face was caved in, and there stood the man she hadn't seen since her wedding twenty years ago.

He grabbed a boulder from the ground and threw it at the whale. It slammed into its eye, forcing it to run away.

It was the Archbishop of Pride, Stride Vollachia. Also known as the son of the emperor of the Vollachia Empire.

The man's hair was colored with deep purple, and his royal attire was mainly black, which consisted of a black long coat, and a mass of fancy dark feathers ornamented on his left shoulder.

However, Stride didn't come alone since there was another man beside him:

He is a man of pale skin and white hair, which is complemented by the white clothing he wore. The neck of his coat was black surrounded by the gold outline, and finished off with what appeared to be blue sleeves underneath the white covering.

The Archbishop of Greed, Regulus Corneas, now entered the fray.

"Ah, we meet again, Sword Saint." Stride grinned maniacally, preparing himself for a battle of a lifetime. "Now I get to have you all for myself."

Theresia's heart beat faster and she felt her face heating up.

This was the man she chose Wilhelm over. And while Stride respected her decision and even showed up to her wedding to congratulate her, she had steadily begun to see less and less of him. It was up until the time she failed him so massively that he completely disappeared. Not just from her life, but for everyone else as well.

It seemed like he had disappeared off the face of the planet. She wondered if her appearance was alright.

But before she could speak, someone intervened:

"You bastard. How dare you take what is rightfully mine."

The white-haired man slammed into Stride with such force that blew Theresia back.

Looking on in terror and half expecting her friend to be paste, she was shocked to see Regulus held Stride so effortlessly.

"How dare you. How dare you." The Archbishop of Greed said angrily. He pulled his colleague up and he punched him in the face, sending him back.

However, Stride stood up as if nothing had happened. There wasn't even a trace of dirt on his clothes.

"How dare you interfere with a perfect being such as myself? Especially since I'm trying to claim what is rightfully mine." Regulus ranted, his eyes glowing with avarice the moment he locked his eyes on Theresia (another potential addition to his prized collection).

"Hey Regulus." Stride said.

"What?"

"Shut up."

Regulus began stomping his feet like a child throwing a temper tantrum.

"Not until you give me what I want."

"Fine. Have it your way."

Stride blitzed straight towards Regulus with one move, and slammed the Archbishop of Greed on his back.

Standing over him, Stride punched Regulus' chest over and over. As he got faster, his strikes also got harder until Regulus' chest was a bloody pulp.

He went to do a two-handed slam on his face until a certain presence made Regulus vanish in an instant as if he teleported away.

"What is the meaning of this, Pandora?!" The Archbishop of Pride yelled, pressing his hand on his face to cover the bleeding.

"Stride. You've been a naughty boy." The platinum-haired witch chided calmly. She shook her finger as if to reprimand a small dog. Then she dropped her smile.

"After what you have done to Regulus, I should just kill Theresia where she stands." Pandora stated simply.

"Not if I kill you first. I won't allow you to interfere with my fight with her. I waited so long for this." Stride gritted his teeth in annoyance, denying everything in the world that could interrupt his hunger for battle.

Theresia could see golden cracks appear across Stride's arms. They slowly started to spread, branching out and covering more of his arms. Taking a step forward, he looked ready to attack the witch, but Pandora held her hand up:

"Ah, but I'm feeling nice today, so I'll let her live." The Witch of Vainglory smiled innocently. "Plus, we wouldn't want Wilhelm and his allies to come out and play just yet."

"I don't know, it seems like a tempting offer since we both know what he would do to our plans."

"Ah, and risk your long awaited battle with Theresia like that?" Pandora playfully added. He seemed to pause before huffing. Pandora smirked and got the final say before she left.

"Well, see you later, Stride. I'd love to stay but unfortunately your other half is being way more naughty than you.."

"Dont you dare mention that fake in my presence!"

Pandora just smirked before she disappeared.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Theresia could see Stride slouching before his golden cracks seemed to dissipate. Turning to her, Stride gave her a demented smile.

"Well, that's done. Now I get to turn you into a useless cripple just to spite Wilhelm."

But the Sword Saint couldn't let things end like this. Who knows when the next time she would see him again. She began to quickly grab onto the leg area of his pants.

"Please take me with you." The red-haired woman said.

"Excuse me?"

Now that caught the Archbishop completely off guard.

"I said please take me with you." She repeated, sounding a bit louder now.

"Why? Don't you have Wilhelm?" Stride tilted his head in confusion. He was so surprised at the sudden turn-of-events that he forgot that the woman's hands were holding on to his pants.

She shook her head, unable to say it.

"What about your son and grandson?" He asked, as if pointing out the obvious.

She shut her eyes harder, straining against the tears overflowing in the back of her eyes. Even though she loved her son and newly gained grandson, she still couldn't say it.

Stride never wanted to admit this to anyone, but for once, someone had finally killed his mood for battle.

As Stride started to pull away in order to avoid an awkward confrontation, the woman felt her fear grow. Deciding that this was her only chance, she took it.

"I wanted it to be with you! Not Wilhelm!" Theresia confessed.

He looked shocked, not believing what he had just heard.

"On that day…I was going to ask you, but then after Wilhelm asked me…I couldn't find you." Theresia gave him a tired and sad smile.

"…"

Not wasting any more time, Stride quickly and wordlessly started channeling large sums of Mana around himself and the surrounding area to eliminate any forms of magic that can affect his mental perception.

"I love you, not him. But you seem to do everything in your power to not be alone with me." Theresia continued while her hands were still firmly holding on to Stride's pants despite being under the intense pressure of his erupting Mana.

"What nonsense are you spouting out now, Sword Saint? This is beneath you. Stop this at once!" He snarled, instantly dispelling his coat of Mana since it didn't actually do anything.

"My son and my grandson…I wanted that with you. The man who saw not the Sword Saint, but the man who just wanted to be friends with me."

When he heard that, Stride then made an exasperated sigh. But after taking a few deep breaths, he looked at her again.

"So illusion magic wasn't in the works then…" The Archbishop of Pride contemplated as he rested a fist on his chin, ignoring the fact that Theresia's hands were still grabbing onto his pants and not faltering in the slightest. "Think. What can be the source for all of this?"

There were many factors when it came to being strong and harnessing power. There was how much power a person held. How much they could manifest eventually. How much they could control. How fine one could control their powers. Diversity of said abilities. Nature of said power. The quality of said power.

But, when it came to the absurdly strong, be it in this world or others, there was usually one factor that was a standard when it came to the truly and disgustingly strong.

The fabled Authority of Vainglory.

At that moment, realization had dawned on Stride Vollachia.

"No." Stride's eyes dilated in horror. He had a poor enough opinion of the witch for what she did already, but even he didn't think she would have gone to that length. "No, no no no no she didn't. That's a level of twisted that even she wouldn't go to. There's no way that's right. That, she did THAT to Theresia van Astrea the Sword Saint on purpose?"

Stride was at a loss for words. Theresia's hand then lightly gripped on his leg in a soft press. "Pain" like no other spread through his leg. He knew it wasnt his but he still felt it none the less. Another reminder of his other half.

Gritting his teeth, he tried walking away from her, but Theresia's hand wouldn't let him move.

Hearing her sobs made him clung to an old part of him.

"You know, my empire could use a military commander." Stride said, finally regaining his composure.

For the first time ever in his interaction with Theresia van Astrea, his voice didn't carry his usual bloodlust.

And that's it guys, it's important as I want to remind everyone that there's a Discord I have created where you can join and we can hang out.
