Davis was brought back to the academy to help his friends, but it was all staged by Lita's older genius brother: Wade. The whole thing was just to get Davis to come back because Wade believes he might has a way to have Davis operate I.S. units again. That's why all of them are on their way to meet up with Wade. He's actually stationed somewhere on the island. So, Davis and the ten girls got to work and headed straight to him.
"How could you not know that your own brother was on the island, Lita?" Davis said.
"My brother and I have a complex relationship." Lita said. "How could anyone here not know that he was somewhere on this island?"
"Miss Orimura never detected anything beforehand." Houki said. "Let's keep in mind that this is Wade we're talking about. He's on the same level of genius as my sister, developed Dragonic Heaven so that only Davis could use it, and look at what he did just now."
"Houki's right. Lita's older sister might be a loon, but he's brilliant." Rin claimed.
"Regardless, you all didn't have to come with me." Davis said.
"Are you serious? You just came back to us. You honestly think we're just going to let you go?" Lita claimed.
"Plus, we all came to help. This might be a tough time for you. We all wish to help." Cecilia said, but Davis was getting a little annoyed with everyone wanting to help.
"Let's see. Wade should be somewhere around here." Kimi said as they arrived on another end of the island, but there was no sign of him anywhere.
"There's nothing here." Sierra said.
"Wait for it. Rin said it herself, my brother is a loon." Lita said as she just knows that something crazy is going to happen.
"I say that you might want to look towards the sea." Laura said as something is telling her that Wade will becoming through there.
"Agreed. I believe that is where he's coming." Fria agreed. All of them kept an eye on the sea. That was when it happened. Something emerged out of the water just as they expected. It looked like a mobile research lab with it moving on land and stationed down on it. When it opened up, they all saw Wade walked out of there.
"How's it going, Davis. Did you really have to bring your whole harem with you?" Wade said.
"Nice to see you haven't changed, Wade." Davis laughed as he did enjoy seeing him again. As for Lita, she ran right over to her brother.
"Lita! Coming to greet your big bro..." Wade ended up getting hit right in the gut and caused him to drop to his knees.
"I can't believe you put me and my friends do that!" Lita said as she was furious at her brother. She smashed her fist right on top of his head and added to the pain. "Do you have any idea how humiliating and embarrassing that was?! Not to mention that this could be a violation of privacy!"
"I see you're as strong as ever..." Wade groaned as he got back up.
"I've never seen a sibling as physically abusive as those two." Charlotte said.
"Of course, it's easy to see why Lita does what she does with him." Serene said as they all thought Wade was a little...unusual.
"Okay, let's get down to business." Davis said as he wasn't in the mood to fool around. He walked right over and helped Wade up. "Wade, you said you have a way to restore my connection to I.S. units."
"That's right." Wade said as he got back up and got serious.
"How is that even possible? We all believed his connection was severed." Sierra said.
"Step inside and I'll explain." Wade invited. All of them walked on inside to hear Wades' explanation. "As you all remember, the battle with Lineer was a fierce one. She intended to use humans to power her machines and have people believe they were living their fantasies. To counter her, I helped created the unit known as Dragonic Heaven. Dragonic Heaven entered it's second shift and that's what helped Davis defeat Lineer for good."
"Yeah, we know. You don't need to tell us what we were all there for." Lita said.
"I remember you saying that the reason Davis' connection was severed was because too much power was generated. It affected Davis' body and that's what severed the connection" Sierra said, but it was a tough thing for Davis to think about. "I'm sorry, Davis. It seems this bothers you."
"Don't worry about me. I want to hear more about this." Davis said. "My connection was severed. How can it come back?"
"Well, I did a little research. Severed isn't exactly the right word I would use." Wade said. "It's more like your connection was damaged, damage that can be repaired." Hearing that got everyone interested. Could Davis really still pilot I.S. units? "Dragonic Heaven might have been reduced to dust, but given that everything I did to create that unit, restoring it shouldn't be a problem. I think I might have something that could help restore Dragonic Heaven and have you pilot it again, Davis."
"That's... That sounds incredible!" Charlotte said.
"Wunderbar!" Laura cheered as all of the girls were happy for him. "Davis, you could really pilot Dragonic Heaven again."
"That also means...you could come back!" Serene said as she seemed like she was going to cry tears of joy. Davis wasn't sure how to take all of this. It all sounded incredible to him, but he wasn't sure how to respond.
"What's wrong?" Wade asked as he noticed something was up with Davis. "Davis, I did say that you could have Dragonic Heaven back and become a pilot again. I thought you would be more excited."
"It's just... I... I don't really know what to think. I thought it was all gone for good." Davis said as he never believed a time like this would come. That didn't sound like Davis. All of them noticed that he wasn't acting like himself.
"Davis... Do you want to be a pilot again?" Wade asked with his friends worried he might say no.
"Of course I do!" Davis shouted without a moment of hesitation. Something did seem off about him, but Wade wasn't quite sure what it was.
"Very well." Wade said as he flipped on the lights. When he did that, he showed a large machine with one of those operating tables next to it. "Step on and place your arm in the cylinder."
"You want me to get in that thing?! It looks like some sort of torture device!" Davis said as he wasn't sure about getting in that thing.
"It will all be fine." Wade said. "Let me point out that this will only work for you, Davis. I have no idea what might happen to you, but I will work to try and get Dragonic Heaven back to you."
"Dragonic Heaven could really come back to me..." Davis said as this moment seemed so unreal, but he was willing to go for it. "All I have to do is step into that thing, right? Let's do it." He says he wants to do this, but there was some doubt coming from the others.
"Davis, wait." Lita said as she grabbed his arm and stopped him from doing anything. "You don't have to do this."
"Say what?" Davis said.
"What are you saying, Lita? Why are you trying to stop him?" Fria said.
"All I'm saying is that you don't have to feel obliged to do this." Lita said as she gets the feeling that there's something telling Davis not to do this, but Davis doesn't want to listen to it. "This is your choice. You don't have to go through this if you really don't want. As great as it would be for you to come back, you shouldn't have to do this."
"Lita, it's okay." Davis said as he tried to assure her he was fine. "I was just a little taken back that I might actually get to be a pilot again. You don't have to worry about me." That didn't sound that convincing, but the girls were still a little concerned for him.
"All right, Davis. Let's get you ready for this." Wade said. Wade helped set Davis up as he had Davis sit up and strapped to the table. He placed Davis' arm inside the machine while also placing some wires connected to his body.
"Are you sure this isn't going to hurt him?" Rin questioned.
"I have to agree with Rin. It doesn't look safe." Cecilia claimed.
"I promise you that everything will be fine." Wade said as he stood behind a computer and got things ready. "As you might remember Davis, an I.S. unit holds a form of it's own consciousness while also holding a symbiotic relationship with the pilot."
"Yeah, and a bunch of complicated stuff I don't really understand." Davis remarked. "Can you just skip to the part where you tell me what's about to happen or what I do?"
"I'm going to try to reassemble Dragonic Heaven with your biometrics." Wade said. "Dragonic Heaven is an I.S. that only works for you. However, it will take some mental power on your part. You need to focus on your I.S., remember the times you had with it. You might be placed in a dream-like state. I also want you to know that if there's a situation, I'll pull you out. Since this only works for you, I'm not entirely sure what will happen."
"Well, what do I got to loose. Let it rip." Davis said as he gave the all clear to go. Once that happened, Wade started up the systems. Once the machine started, Davis' eyelids began to feel heavy and it was like he was going to sleep. Once he closed his eyes, all the girls could see now was him just resting there.
"I hope this works." Houki said.
"Wade, are you sure this isn't going to hurt him?" Lita questioned.
"Come on, my little sis. Have some faith in me." Wade said. Knowing how his sister feels about him, Wade is making the double effort to make sure all of this goes well. "While he's resting, I'm reassembling everything I can about Dragonic Heaven." 'However, I can only do so much, Davis. An I.S. is dependable on the pilot. For Dragonic Heaven to truly come back, for your connection to the units to be restored, you have to want it.' He thought as all he could do was place things in Davis' hands.
...
Davis
When Davis could see again, he opened his eyes to see where he was. He had a look around and saw he was up in a golden sky. Davis wasn't so sure what this was, whether it was a hallucination or something else, but he knew what this place was.
"I know this place..." Davis said as he actually walked on a cloud. "I was here once before, during the fight with Lineer. That was when Dragonic Heaven entered its second shift." Davis thought back to how that fight went, how he ended up getting struck down, and how he unlocked the power to defeat her only for him to lose the ability to manipulate I.S. units.
"Davis..." He could hear a voice, but he couldn't tell where it was coming from.
"Who's there?! Where are you?!" Davis called as he looked around to find where that voice was coming from. "Is it you?" He questioned as there was only one thing he could think of that voice was. "Dragonic Heaven?! Is it you?!"
"Davis..." He heard the voice again, but he could feel the breath of something right behind him. He turned around to where it was and knew what to see. The last time he was here, he could see a gold Chinese dragon. It was different this time. When he turned to see the dragon, she looked scarred, bruised, burned, and she looked like she was even missing an eye.
"Is it really you?" Davis questioned. Could this really be it? Could this be where Davis gets his I.S. back?
...
Davis: Could this be it? Do I really get to have Dragonic Heaven again? I never thought I would. However, people seem worried about me. I keep telling them I'm fine, but they don't really believe it. This could be my one chance to get Dragonic Heaven back, but should I take it? No, I want it.
