After resting for a short while, I realized that there was still some time left in the day.

Now, what should I do…?

Ding dong!

"Huh?" I gasped as I heard the doorbell. "Who could that be?"

Upon opening it, I found Mondo standing before me. "Yo." He greeted.

"Oh! Uh… Hey, Mondo!" I nervously greeted. Trying to hide my fear of being punched again.

"Listen, I was feelin' bored, and Ishimaru was busy with… Whatever." He began. "So, you wanna hang out?"

"S-Sure!" I nodded. Hoping that things would go as well as last time.

"Good!" He said. "C'mon, let's somethin' to drink!"

Without a second thought, Mondo led me to the dining hall, and we had some tea. Making us grow a little closer that day.

"So, Naegi, I've been meanin' to ask: Why were you enrolled to Hope's Peak?" Mondo asked.

"Uh…" Was all I could get out. Should I really tell him about the fact that I didn't know?

"C'mon, man! You have to be here for something!" Said Mondo. Impatient. "Didn't you receive a letter?"

"Of course, I received a letter…" I stammered. "It didn't say what I was per say, but Monokuma keeps saying that I'm the Ultimate Lucky Student. But if you ask me, I have the worst luck out of anyone!"

"Seriously?" Mondo asked as he raised an eyebrow. "How bad is it?"

"Really bad!" I began. "I got bullied throughout middle school, I broke my arm falling down the stairs, and who knows what else! The only think I considered "Lucky" was that time I won the lottery."

"Oh! Well, that's somethin'!" Mondo grinned, but I sighed.

"Yeah, but considering all the unlucky things that happened to me in the past, that lottery seems microscopic!" I explained.

"Seesh… Forget I asked." Said Mondo.

"It's okay. Well, bye…" I said before getting up, however, before I could walk anywhere else…

Ding dong, bing bong!

Monokuma came on the monitor, but instead of making the announcement that it was nighttime…

"Ahem! School announcement, school announcement." He began. "Nighttime is quickly approaching, but before it arrives, all students, please gather in the gym immediately. Emergency! Emergency!"

And then the monitor turned off.

"Gather in the gym? Why now all of a sudden?" I asked.

"Well, we'd better head there and see what the hell that dumb plush wants." Mondo said as he left. I have a terrible feeling, but I followed him.

Upon exiting the dining hall, I found Kirigiri in the hall. "Oh! Kirigiri!" I called. She turned to look at me. "Did you hear the announcement just now?"

"I did, yes." She replied.

"I don't want to go, but we don't have any other choice, right?" I asked.

"I can't imagine it's going to be good news, but it's not a good idea to defy him here and now." She shrugged.

"Listen, this might sound weird but… Can you come with me?" I asked her. Mentally slapping myself as I did so.

"Sure." She nodded. Wow, I didn't expect her to just agree with me, but I'll take what I can get.

Upon arriving to the gym, we found everyone there. Just as Monokuma planned.

"Hmm… Asking us to gather together all of a sudden like this… What could he possibly want?" Ishimaru asked no one in particular.

"Indeed." Agreed Celeste. "What might await us this time?"

"Hmhmhm." Togami chuckled slightly. "He keeps things interesting. That's for certain."

"How is that funny?" Asked Yamada. "Can't you smile like a normal person once in a while? Like how the housewife on a classic TV show smiles at the end of an episode?"

"There's something totally messed up with you if you can laugh at a time like this!" Fumed Asahina.

"Which of us is actually "messed up", hmm?" Togami asked eerily.

"Wh-What's that supposed to mean…?" Asked Asahina.

"Nothing in particular. Just admiring. That's all…" Togami explained. "I don't want to kill anyone, but I also don't want to stay here living in blind denial day after day. I was just admiring how you could live like that and still keep your sanity."

"I'm not in denial…" Asahina growled.

"That reminds me. Remember how you kept talking about how the police or whoever would come to help us?" Togami continued. "How'd that turn out? It seems to me there's no sign whatsoever of possible rescue."

"Th-That's just…" Asahina stuttered before lowering her head. "…I wonder what actually happened."

"It's strange. That's true." Said Kirigiri. "There's no way the police wouldn't know about it. We're right in the middle of a major urban area."

"The police suck!" Exclaimed Yamada suddenly.

"On the contrary, the mastermind may be just that powerful to take control even of the police…" Assumed Celeste.

"Oh! This might not be related, but-" Hagakure began, but Fukawa interrupted him.

"Then don't say it." She grunted.

"Nope. Gonna say it!" Hagakure began. "It's about last night. I was near the main hall, just staring off into space, when all of a sudden… I heard it."

"You heard what?" Asked Chihiro.

"A sound that… I don't really know what it was…" Hagakure said.

"Wh-What kind of sound?" Asked Ishimaru.

"Well, like I said, I don't really know." Hagakure said with a shrug. But if I had to describe it, it was like… A construction site, I guess?"

"A construction site…?" I asked in amazement.

"I mean, I could just me making that up. I only just barely heard anything…" Hagakure explained.

"Then you d-definitely made it up." Assumed Fukawa. "M-Must've just been the sound of the ocean in th-that head of yours…"

"Say what!?" Somebody shouted. "Whatchoo talkin' about, Fukawa?!"

Obviously, that voice belonged to Monokuma who had just appeared on the stage.

"He's arrived…" Sighed Kirigiri.

"What Kure heard wasn't the sound of construction, but it could have been an explosion!" Monokuma said.

"Huh…?" I gasped.

"Or maybe a machine gun! Upupu… That can kinda sound like construction in a way!"

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Ah-ah-ah!" He chuckled. "Beyond this point, by mouth is zipped, my lips are sealed, I am fully puckered! It's a secret little secret!"

"Fine, just move on to what you can tell us." Said Kirigiri. "Why did you call us all here?"

"You don't beat around the ol' bush, do ya? Ready for me to get to the point, huh?" Asked Monokuma. "But before that, mind if I vent a little? I'm low on energy these days. My stitching's even losing all its shine and luster… I'm thinking it's probably because of this ho-hum boring old everyday life. I'm looking for something with a little more stimulation. Something rile with danger and intrigue! Listen, can I just be frank?"

He then got angry. "The next blackened hasn't shown up yet, and I'm getting booooored! So, I've decided to come up with a new way to motivate you!"

"M-Motivate…!? Is it another set of videos or something…?" I gasped. Still remembering that horrific video the day before Maizono's murder. "Are you gonna show us some demented thing to try and drive us all to murder?!"

"Drive you to murder!?" Monokuma gasped before is red eye began glowing a bright red. "What a mean thing to say! Just awful!"

"I don't know what you've got planned, but we're not going to kill each other anymore!" Ishimaru proclaimed. "No matter what you do, I swear to God we won't!"

"Hmm. That's very big talk. Do your very best to back it up, okay?" Monokuma replied. Not phased at all. "Now then, with your permission, let me begin! So, this time, it's…"

His next words both confused and terrified all of us.

"Embarrassing memories and secrets!"
