Morning

The next morning, the alarm robs them of the peace they had achieved while sleeping in less than a second. During the night, they had moved and now they are turning their backs to each other, but as soon as the alarm turns on, Donna turns to hug them from behind, hiding her face between his shoulder blades.

"Please turn off that shit." She snores, her hand extends over his chest, and Harvey puts his hand on hers, after turning off the alarm.

"Morning." He whispers, moving his thumb over her hand. "Have you slept well?"

"Morning." She snorts, hugging him tighter, arranging her legs behind his. "Yes, but not enough." She frowns. "What about you?"

"Yeah... same." He responds, both with their eyes closed and the silence falls back on them for a few minutes, and he feels her relax even more against his body. "Hey… don't sleep again." He whispers, squeezing her hand affectionately.

She giggles, and he makes her embrace him even tighter, curling his arm with hers. "I'm trying." Harvey giggles and wants to turn on the light, but Donna slows him down with her hand. "You don't even think of it!" Her voice sounds slow and sleepy.

Harvey chuckles and kisses her hand. "And what do you want to do?"

"Stay here until noon." She mumbles.

"You know we don't have any chance."

"I know…" she sighs. "Yesterday was a romantic comedy. Today is a horror film."

"Hmm… I don't think I woke up with my wife hugging me in a horror film." He says with a soft voice. He really enjoys those hugs before she finishes waking up as if he were the world she wants to return to after sleeping.

"Oh, it sure does. And when things get hot, the demon appears."

He chuckles. "And things will get hot now?"

"Sure… the only hot thing I accept you right now is a coffee."

"But for that, you must let go of me..."

"No," she shakes her head, her nose against him, and hugs him tighter.

"Hey..." he whispers and turns until he is in front of her. Almost immediately, she hugs him and curls up against him. "Do you feel good?" he asks, hugging her against him and arranging her hair.

"Yes, I'm just too sleepy." She murmurs, her face hidden in him, not wanting to face the world yet.

"A coffee may help with that." He whispers, smooching the side of her face.

"I'll need over one." She whines.

"Can we start with one?" he says affectionately, rubbing her back and she nods, clinging to him. "With Vanilla?" she nods again. "Ok… Just... the kitchen is over there."

"I know."

"So… can you let me go for five minutes?" Donna denies it with her head, smiling. The feeling of her body still asleep being invaded by the heat of his body is the only thing she likes about that damn alarm sounding so early. "Ok… I'll do it my way then." He murmurs and cradles her head with his hand, while the other clings to her waist, and giving her kisses all over her face, he lies her on the mattress, although she doesn't let him go.

"It makes me cold that you leave." She snorts, holding on to him with the little strength she has.

"I'll cover you." He replies, taking her hands and disengaging from her. Donna snorts, curls up in herself, and settles her head on the pillow.

Harvey covers her and kisses her head. "Hurry up."

"I'll do." He tells her and after giving her a last kiss on her forehead, he gets up from the bed, puts on a robe and slippers, and goes to the kitchen, lighting some lights along the way and he sets out to make the two coffees, besides looking for chocolates he had bought a few days ago. If coffee and chocolate, along with a few kisses, didn't pull her out of bed, there was no way to win that battle.

He enters the bedroom with the tray in his hands and smiles tenderly when he sees her on the bed, knowing that she is asleep again, so he leaves the tray on his bedside table and then grabs Donna's robe, he leaves it on the bed and slides back to bed in front of her.

"Hey..." he murmurs against her forehead, stroking her neck with his thumb. "You have fallen asleep again." She mutters something incomprehensible. "Every morning of my life, will this happen?"

"Every morning that we need to get up early."

"How many years are we left for retirement?"

"Not so many. Remember that we are old." She is still asleep, but her brain is still fast, and she references the conversation from the previous night again.

Harvey giggles and shakes his head. "Sit down, the coffee is going to cool down. Also, I brought you a chocolate."

She smiles, and it's the first time she opens her eyes. "Did you say chocolate?"

He smiles. "A chocolate can make you open your eyes and your handsome husband can't?"

"I love your sleeping face, but… give me my chocolate." They laugh and Donna sits on the bed, completely against her will, reaches the robe and puts her on, while he sits next to her. "We can go live on an island and invest our money, so we never work again?" she murmurs, rubbing her eyes with her fingers after covering her mouth to yawn.

He smirks mischievously. "Hmm... that would include spending the day in a bathing suit?"

"How can you think about sex right now? For the second time in 10 minutes? I can't even keep my eyes open right now."

He shrugs and puts the tray in the middle of them. "I'm sorry, I'm a man… and besides, I'm married to you. It's hard to resist, you know?" he tells her by looking at her and grabbing his mug for a sip of coffee. "And… you don't need to keep your eyes open for that."

She chuckles and takes the cup of coffee in her hands. "I guess if it's a Caribbean island, I'd include the bath suits." She murmurs and drinks a sip of coffee.

"We could think about it then." He tells her with a huge smile on his lips and makes her chuckle.

"You can't live far from a city." She says, after another sip of coffee.

"And you? Lady, I need new handbags, shoes, and dresses all the time? And go to the stylist every 20 days? And make my nails?"

"Ok, ok…" she interrupts him. "It was just an idea of my sleeping brain." She fights back and drinks some more coffee. "It's so good."

"Change the topic of the conversation.." he giggles behind his mug.

She doesn't respond. Just leave the coffee cup on the tray to open the chocolate and eat a piece. "It's exactly what I'm doing. How is your day coming?"

"Meetings in the morning. In the afternoon, I must do a lot of paperwork. What about you?"

"Mountains of paperwork." She sighs and bites another piece of her chocolate.

"Let's have lunch together?"

She grins. "Yes, please."

"Ok… I warn you when I leave the meeting and we go out for lunch." He tells her as he opens his chocolate.

"Will you eat it?" she murmurs, pouting.

"Yes... We are two people and there are two chocolates, as well as the coffees… that were one for each."

"Okay," she mumbles, without looking at him, and eats one more piece of her chocolate.

"Donna." He laughs.

"It's not even your favorite."

"But marriage is about sharing."

"Sharing life, not chocolate." She responds, after eating the last piece of hers.

Harvey rolls his eyes and brings the chocolate to her mouth. "Just a bite. I need sugar too."

She smiles triumphantly, wraps his wrist with her hand, and bites a piece of his chocolate. "The taste is definitely better when it's stolen."

Harvey laughs and eats a piece of his chocolate, while she drinks the last sip of her coffee and sits glued to him, wraps his arm with her hands, and rests her head on his shoulder.

"You want to bite another piece, don't you?"

She smirks although she wasn't really thinking about it. "No, eat it yourself. I don't want you to faint at my fault today."

"Anyway, I'll buy a bagel on my way to the office… and you'll steal some bites as well." He says and eats a little more.

She laughs and rests her forehead on his shoulder. "I'm sorry… I always steal your food."

"I've gotten used to it." He smiles. "Take it, eat the last piece."

She raises her head and asks: "You won't claim it later?"

He shakes his head, with a slight smile on his lips, and before he regrets it, Donna takes it out of his hands and eats it. Harvey kisses her head, and she manages to curl up against his chest, making room for her between his legs. Harvey wraps her around her back, his arms crossed under her breasts, and she has her hands hooked on him.

"I don't know if I need it to be an island paradise. I think that stopping working and spending all day curled up with you is enough for me." She whispers, closing her eyes.

"I can't deny that sounds tempting." He hugs her tighter for a few moments and then lets go of his grip. "But right now, we must get up."

"I know." She snorts, and without thinking too much, stands up. Harvey imitates her and after opening the window of their room, they go to the bathroom. They turn on the light that gives just above the sink and, after washing their faces with cold water, hoping that it will wake them up a little more, both prepare to brush their teeth.

While they're next to each other, they aren't paying attention to each other. They have their gazes lost in the sink as they move the brushes inside their mouths. Donna is holding a yawn and closing her eyes tightly, while Harvey is already rinsing his mouth and raises his gaze again, to walk behind her and pinch the sides of her waist, making her squeal.

"Harvey!" she complains and rinses her mouth, but as she does, he tickles her on the sides of her body, making her laugh. "You're going to make me drown, idiot!" she complains again and fulminates him with her gaze through in the mirror.

"Perhaps that's the idea… so we can do a mouth-to-mouth breathing." He murmurs, his nose crushed against her neck, hugging her by her back and making her smile. "Come here. I haven't yet given you a good morning kiss yet."

"I'm here." She murmurs. "You're not letting me move, you know?" Harvey chuckles and spins her on her feet, to meet her face to face, gently grabs her face by her cheeks, and gives her a sweet kiss. "Morning." She smiles.

"Good morning." He also smiles and kisses her again, this time holding her against him, with his arms at her waist. He does it too fast that Donna loses a little balance and must hold herself with her hands in his arms.

"Definitely a single coffee won't be enough." She mutters against his lips.

"A shower will help."

"It doesn't sound too tempting to take this robe off right now."

"No?" he asks with a smile and unties the belt of the robe with his hands, while his lips remain glued to hers.

"No." She pouts with her lips against his.

"If I get in the shower with you?"

"Harvey… We know that doesn't work if we want to get to the office on time." Now Harvey pouts, and she kisses him, while he takes that distraction to slide her robe across her shoulders. "Harvey…" she chuckles, and he denies with his head, completely uncovering her entire shoulder to give her a kiss there that makes her smile, curling her arms around his neck and causing him to return to her lips and when they run out of air, they simply stay hugged. "I'll take a shower now… okay?" he nods, with little enthusiasm and, after giving her a last kiss, lets her move away a little from him, but still holds her hand, which makes her turn to look again at him, but he remains silent. "What?"

He shakes his head and gives her a kiss on her knuckles. "Think about the island thing." Donna giggles, as he lets go of her hand and she finishes taking off her robe.

Later, they get out of the taxi that brought them to the other side of the city, where the firm is located. They stopped a few blocks before so that they can go for that bagel and walk a little, enjoying the morning.

"You don't want one?" Harvey asks, and she denies it with her head. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I am. I prefer to eat from yours." She shrugs.

"What if I buy two for myself? Will it be the same feeling? Because I'm starving."

Donna giggles, biting her lower lip. "Okay... buy them for you."

"You are a kid."

She smiles and gives him a brief kiss on his lips. "I know. Now go for your bagels."

Harvey laughs, shaking his head, and approaches the cart where they usually buy. Donna stays on the side because there are too many people piled up and she can't find the point of getting in there. Plus, she loves to watch Harvey doing such mundane things as buying a couple of bagels and witnessing that moment.

When Harvey returns to her side, he gives a beagle to her, and she grabs it but doesn't bite it. In silence, they begin to walk and after Harvey gives his first bite; she breaks the silence.

"Share me." She grins at him, guiding his hand to her mouth.

"You have yours there."

"But I want yours." She rolls her eyes and bites his beagle. "Take it, keep it." She offers her beagle to him and Harvey can't help laughing, but still does what she asks. Harvey stays with the entire beagle and Donna, with the one which both have already bitten.

"I think I better not say anything about this," he murmurs.

Donna hooks herself to his arm with her free hand and rests her chin on his shoulder. "I like how you have learned in this time." Harvey giggles and turns his face to give her a brief kiss on her lips. And with Donna hooked to his arm and his hand resting on her lower back, they walk the distance that separates them from their office, enjoying their bagels and hoping that the acceleration of the city already fully awakens doesn't crush them before their day begins.
