Chapter 3: The Boy/Girl Sleepover

One mild third Saturday of September 2022, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri, along with some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, Max Greenwald, Carly Shay, and Spencer Puckett, as well as Carly's stepdad, Freddie Benson, at the North Park football field for Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties client Allison Brawner's football game as part of her Boy/Girl Sleepover. "I would have loved watching a baseball game just like at my high school," James stated. "Too bad I wasn't there," Henri stated. "Well, the pandemic is slowly beginning to wear down," I told everyone. "Yes, that's right, Angel," Sarah told me. "I do not really think that there is anything to worry about anymore." We also participated in Childhood Chat while listening to Kate Bush and Lizzo. Kaitlyn and Colleen Marioni discussed having a Netflix binge session in preschool in downtown Pittsburgh, Samantha Mifflin discussed telling the truth at 2 years old in East Liberty, Nicole Ellis discussed having a pillow fight in 7th grade in the North Side, Victoria Spurnick discussed having a pillow fight in 8th grade in Oakland, Sarah Ching discussed selling lemonade in 8th grade in Shadyside, and Brooke Leesaw discussed eating bagels for breakfast just last summer in the South Side. "How cool is it that a girl with the same name as me was selling lemonade in 8th grade just around the age that we sold lemonade on an unseasonably hot day in May?" Sarah asked. "Yes, but you didn't help sell lemonade because you wanted to work on geography homework," James told Sarah. "And then, we ordered Chinese food for dinner that night," Henri stated, licking his lips. "Yum!" After the football game was over, we headed back to Allison's house for the sleepover, which featured a water balloon fight and making homemade pizzas, cupcakes, and brownies. Prior to then, however, while listening to NSYNC and 98 Degrees, we chatted with Sophia Cleng about doing different activities during the spring and summer of 2012 at 5 years old in the city of Pittsburgh, Julia Robison about doing different activities during the spring and summer of 2015 at 12 years old in the northern suburbs, Elizabeth Mosh about doing different activities during the spring and summer of 2018 at 17 years old in the western suburbs, Rachel Luster about doing different activities during the spring and summer of 2019 at 9 years old in the eastern suburbs, and Lauren Bennett about doing different activities in the spring and summer of last year at 12 years old in the southern suburbs. "Wow, Sophia liked cooking and the mall only at 5 years old," Carly remarked. "She must have had a toy kitchen set that she played with all the time." "I remember when we taught you how to cook without a toy kitchen set back in 8th grade," Mr. Benson stated. "Yeah, who needs a toy kitchen set to cook with?" Spencer asked. "It's cool that you participated in a photo shoot prior to your senior year of high school, Elizabeth," Alex remarked. "I like the fact that you all used to go to Music Support Group Academy and play a musical instrument in marching band," Max stated. "I especially enjoyed the Christmas concert from our junior year," Justin stated. "I know that Kimberly has played my trivia game based on my journal entries this spring," Alex stated. "I know because Kimberly is a student at Pitt and her senior class won." Then, it was time for all of us to go to bed for the night. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
