10. The Cybermen's war on Tinsel.

"We should return this gold to the Cybermen," the Doctor says with urgency.
He looks down the list of recent destinations and takes the Tardis to the vault on Cyberium One, returning to Tinsel after dropping off the gold bar.

On returning he finds two battle spaceships above Tinsel: Cybermen and Daleks.

"What do they both want?" the Doctor asks rhetorically *.
He opens a communication channel with the Cybermen.
"Cybermen, you are present in an armed and armoured spacecraft above an unarmed planet in contravention of…" but he's interrupted.
"Someone here has stolen our entire stock of gold from our bank vault in violation of… our laws!"
"I discovered where it was and returned it to your vault! Please check before continuing!"
There's a pause for hyper-space communication.
"Only some of it has been returned."

The Doctor marches around the Console room, checking visually before approaching the Console.
"What are we looking for?" Chloe asks.
"Gold!"
"What?"
"Almost the entire stock of the Cybermen's gold is logged as missing, apparently!"

"Tardis, please could you show us where the Cybermen's gold is," Chloe says.
A blob appears on a map indicating a house nearby on Tinsel.

The Doctor replies, "I've detected it and I'll get it and return it." Although it is distasteful for him to have to do their bidding, in this case they are legally right.
"Then we want the thief!"
The Doctor must draw the line here! "No! No people! You won't get any people! Only the gold!"
The Doctor closes the communication channel. "We must pay a visit to our little friends, here."

"Tardis," Chloe prepares to give a Voice Control command, "please enclose the Cybermen's gold."

Not only the pile of gold appears in the Tardis, but two sleepy girls, too, in their sleeping bags between the gold bars.

"Alyssa!" Chloe cries out indignantly. The thought of her sister being involved in this grubby sideshow is rather repulsive for her.
Alyssa awakens rapidly. She'd been dreaming of what she and Rimba might do with the riches.
Rimba also awakens and sits cowering and afraid. She knows it's all her fault.

Chloe decides to wind them up. "The Cybermen want you as captives." .
"But I'm not going to let them have you!" the Doctor immediately reassures them. He's aware they've come a long way during the adventure and learnt a lot.

"The Cybermen aren't the only ones who are after you!" the Doctor says.
Chloe turns to the Doctor. "Who else?" She pauses for a moment to think. "The Daleks?"
"Yes! Actually, they're after all of us…"
They all stare at the Doctor.
"It seems they've tracked us here. Tell me about your encounter with the Daleks." The Doctor is trying to keep calm, cool and collected, but as he isn't sure quite how they've been tracked, he's distracted with this aspect.

Meran steps forwards. "One of the Daleks suckered onto our Tardis and hitched a ride," he says.

The Doctor immediately rushes to the Tardis door, flings it open and walks around the Tardis. He finds what he expects rapidly enough. He re-appears wielding a Dalek suction probe.

"Daleks will stop at nothing to prevent me from holding one of their suckers!"
Chloe reaches for it as he passes her.
"Oi!"
"I'd like a closer inspection, please, Doctor."
"Why, what are you hoping to find?" the Doctor enquires.
"There's years of Dalek Technological development gone into advancing this, even since you last looked, Doctor!" Chloe places her forefinger against her lips to indicate everyone must stay quiet.
The Doctor knows what to do and places the Tardis near a hungry looking star ready to be their waste disposal. As Chloe scrapes away briefly at the suction probe surfaces, he prepares his waste disposal chute – a powerful rocket, more like a firework.

Suddenly Chloe turns around with the suction probe and the Doctor immediately secures it to the rocket and runs to the Tardis door. Throwing it out would be the easy bit. Ensuring it went into the star would be the next tricky bit. The apparatus is primitive but tested.
Like a javelin it is thrown, but gently – it doesn't have to go all the way to the star under the speed of the initial throw! After a few seconds the rocket ignites, and the Tardis knows to retreat. The monitor screen gives them a pictorial view of the incineration, if they'd chosen to watch it. No alarms go off, so they know the incineration reached a successful outcome.

"Best get back, then," the Doctor says, selecting a slightly different position to occupy on Tinsel.
"The Cybermen will be after us," the Doctor says. "They know they are no match for a Tardis, though. Sooner or later, they'll catch up with us and want their form of justice. Then there'll be a showdown!"
"Will the Daleks mind?" Alyssa asks blithely. .
"Mind? Of course, they'll mind!" the Doctor retorts. "They'll go mad!" .
