Jacob Scamander and
The tale of the split
Wand
A pair of white gloved hands appear by Jacob's bed. They float over to his wand box on his desk. They open the box and magically make a copy of the two wand halves. They take one copy and stuff them into an invisible pocket then take the other police officer and put it in the box. Then the hands disperse leaving the wand box closed on his desk.
Six Years Later
24-year-old Jacob Scamander was finishing his shift at his uncle's bakery.
"Alright Uncle Jacob, I'm heading out," said Jacob
"Ok. If you see your Aunt Queenie, tell her I will be a little late coming home?" called Jacob Kowalski, from the back of the bakery
"I will." called Jacob "Have a good night"
He heard his uncle call 'you too' before closing the door to the bakery. Jacob paused out by the curb before crossing the street. Suddenly out of no where a car came hurling towards him. Out if instinct and self-defense Jacob put his arms up and shut his eyes. But when he opened his eyes, he saw that the car had stopped dead a foot or two away from him. As though he had a protective magical bubble around him.
A group of three Auroras apparate to the ministry, off a muggle street. They stride towards prime minister's office. Anyone in their path disperse immediately. One of them knocked on the ministers door.
"Enter" The minister called
So, they did.
"What is it Gentlemen?" asked the prime minister
"it's Jacob Scamander" they told him
"Its although there was an invisible bubble around me that both protected me and stopped the car." Said Jacob
"That's very strange" said Tina "I've never heard of anything like that happening before"
"Should we talk to the minister?" asked Jacob
"No, it not that serious?" said Jacob
"Don't worry, we'll think of something," said Newt
"Alright" said Jacob
With that he went to bed, As he lay awake in bed, he remembered how he had tried many times over the past six years to break his wand into four pieces. He forgot to tell Queenie about Jacob.
The next morning however, despite what Tina has said, Jacob got an owl telling him to report to the ministry with his wand as soon as possible. Tin agrees to be his escort.
"Did it say weather or not to bring anything?" asked tina
"Just my wand," said Jacob
So, he grabs his wand case and puts it in his pocket and then heads out to the ministry with Tina. Once they arrive, they are directed to a small meeting room by one of the elves. The prime minister, Arnold Guzman, and Ralph Spielman, both Arouras were already seated,
"Ah! Please come in sit down," said the minister
Both Tina and Jacob sit down in the two chairs that had been provided.
"Now, Mr. Scamander, I believe you know Jack Gilbert, correct?" asked the minister
"Yes, I do" said Jacob "Does he have something to do with this?"
"No, but I believe his father does," said the minister
"How?" asked Tina
"I believe that Mr. Gilbert has intentionally replicated Jacobs wand," said the minister
"What? When? How?" Asked Tina
"What would he want with my wand? "asked Jacob
"What exactly I'm not sure, but we do know of Mr. Gilberts desire for pure blood families to rule over other wizards and muggles" said Spielman
"But why my wand in particular? How would I help him achieve that?" asked Jacob
"After the hearing six years ago, Jack told Mr. Gilbert about you and that made him realize that you were the one to help him execute his plan," said Guzman
"You mean he wanted to use me," said Jacob
"Yes" said Guzman
"Oh" said Jacob
"But we still have a problem" said the minister "We still don't know how you stopped the car"
"What makes me so sure it was me? I did not even have my wand on me at the time or anything," said Jacob
"How often do you carry your wand around Mr. Scamander" Asked the minister
"Never. Normally it never leaves my desk. I do take it out occasionally to look at it but even still out never leaves my room," said Jacob
"I see," said the minister
After pausing for a moment, he said,
"I must admit you have a vey unusual case Mr. Scamander. And the only logical explanation is we have some kind of Dark Magic on are hands"
Jack Gilbert aperates onto Jacobs street and begins running down it towards is house. Jacob is sitting out side his house when Jack comes running up.
"Jacob, Jacob' says Jack, breathlessly
"What is it?" asked Jacob
"I think I've found something about your case," said Jack
"Really?" asked Jacob, sitting up
"Yeah." said Jack "I don't know what we can do with it but it's a good piece of evidence"
"Alright, come in tell me," said Jack
So, Jacob guided Jack into the house and he told him what he is found.
"My father not only wants to use Jacob help him make pure blood wizards rule but he wants to make him a wizard again as well." said Jack
"And how is he going to do that, exactly?" asked Tina
"I'm not sure but for some reason he wants to have Jacob help him but afterword's he wants make Jacob a wizard as a reward for helping him," said Jack
"But that makes no sense" said Newt "Jacobs wand was snapped six years ago. There is no way it can be fixed"
"I'm guessing that the only way he will be able to fixe Jacobs wand is going to be by using some kind of dark magic," said Jack
"This man is starting to sound like a serious problem" said Leta from the corner of the room" we should do something about it"
"We should probably tell the minister about him," said Jacob
The Next day Jacob, Tina, Leta, Jack, and Newt went to the ministry. They begin to discuss with the minister ways to track down Jacks dad, Arnold.
We should have a plan but be secretive about it," said Leta
"What do you mean?" asked Jack
"We should have a plan, but not make it obvious," said Leta
"That sounds like a good idea," said Jack
"Well, I think that the first priority is to get Jacobs wand back since it was replicated illegally," said the Minister
"Alright were do we start?" asked Jacob
"I know exactly where we should start" said Jack "Follow me"
So, they follow Jack out of the ministry, where he finally tells them where he is taking them.
"My father doesn't have an office inside the ministry, so he does most of his work, for the ministry inside his study." Said Jack "I was thinking we should check there"
So, they all apparate to Jacks house, Jacob getting the help of Jack, of course.
"I think he's home," said Jack
They sneak to the back of the house and Jack pulled up the screen of the back door and unlocked it.
"Ok, come on" he said, motioning for them to follow him
Once they get in, they follow jack around to the back of the house. Once they get to Arnolds study Jack knocks on the door.
"Come in" said a voice from behind the door
So, Jack pushed the door open and entered his fathers office.
"Dad there's someone who wants to talk to you," said Jack
"Who is it?" asked Arnold
Jack motioned for the minister to come over. As soon as Arnold saw him, he jumped out of his seat and aimed his wand at the Minister.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. No need to get aggressive Arnold. I am not going to hurt you," said the minister "All I ask is that you give Jacobs wand back"
"No. you're not getting anything from me," said Arnold
The he grabbed Jacobs wand and aperated out of the office. Disappearing completely from the house. As soon as he disappeared Jack panicked a little bit because he had never been inside the house alone before, and did not know what was hidden in it.
"Jack! Clam down, its ok. We will find your father, and Jacobs wand. It will be fine"
After about a minute or so jack calms down.
"Ok" he said, quietly "Let us search the office. See if we can find anything"
So, they began to look through Arnolds study. While Jack looked through the books on his dads desk a piece of paper falls out of one book. It had the words 'escape plan' written on it. When Jack opened it up, he saw it had a coded phrase on it.
"Headsmog? What does that mean?" asked Jack
The group crowded around the desk to try to figure out what it meant.
"Hogsmeade" said Newt "He's at Hogsmeade"
As the group aperated into Hogsmeade they began looking for someone who might be able to help. Jack pointed out a store ahead of them that he knew Arnold liked to go to. They rushed over and asked one of the workers if he knew where Arnold hard one, gathering stares all the way.
"The last I'd seen him he was heading towards the village I don't know if he's still there though," said the worker
"Ok thank you," said Jack
So, they headed towards the village and after searching around the houses for half an hour they were unable to find him. But then Newt noticed something.
"Look at this" he said, kneeling down next to something
"What is it?" asked Tina
"Footprints" said Newt
"Are you sure their not ours" asked Leta
"Yep. None of us went to the forest" said Newt, pointing to where they headed.
"Let's follow them," said Jack
So, they follow them through the forest and to a river clearing. At first, he did not see Arnold but then suddenly he came speeding through the trees.
"He cannot be the only person who is coming here. I have a feeling that more people are going to come" said Tina "Accio broomstick"
Suddenly six broomsticks flew out of the trees and hovered above them. So, they each grabbed one and hopped on. Then they followed Arnold to a giant castle.
"This looks like where the last wizard election was held." said Newt, as they arrived
"So, you fell for my trap, didn't you?" asked Arnold, from behind them
They all turned around to see Arnold pointing his wand at them.
"I thought you would be smarter than that, all of you. Especially you Jack," said Arnold
"The only reason we were following you in the first place is to get Jacobs wand back" said Jack, crossing his arms.
"As I told you before you can't have it" said Arnold "It's mine now"
And as if to prove his point he started charging them with spells. They all began returning the spells and running up the steps as Arnold advances on them. In the barrage of spells Jacob got hit by one spell and is knocked to the down. Arnold took the chance to snatch him up.
"Jacob!" cried Leta, Trying to resist Jack's grasp in her.
But it was to late. Arnold and Jacob were gone.
The group heads to Jacks Houser to discuss their new plan.
"Before we begin to discuss our plan, I think we need a name for our group" said the minister, after he heard what happened.
"The Jacob rescue team?" suggested Newt
"that doesn't sound fitting," said Tina
"the Jacob rescue team?" asked the prime minister
"No that still doesn't sound right," said Jack
"The Jacob Alliance," said Leta
"The Jacob alliance?" asked the minister
"Yeah" said Leta "Were not rally a club and were not a recue team, because were not meeting for run reasons, and were not saving multiple people, so were an alliance."
"You have a good point," said Jack
"Alright. Its settled then" said the minister "The Jacob alliance has been established"
Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, Arnold leads Jacob into an underground lab. Arnold guides Jacob down a windy stair case, to a small square like basement room. Arnold motions for Jacob to take a seat and he obliged.
"Hold still" he told Jacob
And seeing what he was about to do, Jacob holds still but thinks of everything but the recent events.
"Will you stop that?" asked Arnold
"Stop what?" asked Jacob, keeping his eyes closed.
"Your resisting," said Arnold
"No, I'm not" said Jacob, opening his eyes "How do you know that?"
"I cannot get a hold on the memories. That is a sight your resisting," said Arnold
Jacob sighed then said,
"Ok I admit I was, but I bet you do not have a good reason for wanting them in the first place." said Jacob
"So, what's the plan?" asked Leta
"I don't know" admitted Jack
They all sat thinking for a minute then Tina asked,
"Should we ask Queenie if she can locate him using her legitimacy?"
"I never thought about that. it is a good idea," said Jack
"Should we go find her then?" asked Newt
After a few a minute longer trying to argue with Jacob, Arnold realizes he cannot persuade Jacob to give him the memories. then he goes to his work bench a few feet away from Jacob, and begins to try do refuse the wand with intense focus. After seeing that he was completely distracted Jacob got up out of the chair and tried to find a way out.
They find Queenie back at the house
"Do you think you can locate Jacob, Queenie" asked Tina
"I do not know. I can try" said Queenie "Although I've never done it before, so I do want to sit down in case I fall down."
"Ok that sounds good," said Tina
So, Queenie sat down on a chair nearby. Tina sat next to her so she would feel comforted. After a minute or two she asked,
"Can you see anything?"
"I can't get a clear picture," said Queenie "I'm only getting bits and pieces"
"What are you seeing?" asked Jack
"lightning, a very narrow, a shack like building, a thrashing ocean nearby. The building is on a cliff," said Queenie
Jacob was able to the door. At first, he could not figure was out how to get it open, but he was able to pick it unlocked with a metal wire that he finds on the floor. When he got the door open, he realized that he did not know where to go to get back to his family. He decides that he probably should not go down to the ocean considering how violent it was. He decided to head down the giant hill hat the tower he had been in was on.
"Those things are very specific Queenie," said Tina
"Yeah, but I have no idea where that is," said Queenie
"Good point," said Tina
They all sat still for another few minutes and waited for queenie to tell them something new then she said,
"Wait! I think he might be heading to the world cup," said Queenie
"Ok then. Let us go," said The minister
After walking for several miles Jacob came across a bucket in the middle of his path. He began inspecting it but then it started it shake and spin violently. The a person flew out of it.
"Aieye!" cried Jacob, in surprise
"Clearly you haven't seen a portkey before" said the man who flew out
"No, I haven't at least not a real one," said Jacob
"I'm Michel Culagen by the way," said the man
But before Jacob could respond three more people flew out.
"How many more of you are there?" asked Jacob, slightly intimidated
"I think that's the last of them," said Michel
"Ok" said Jacob "At least now I know my worst fear: portkeys."
That made them all laugh.
"Are you heading to the world cup too?" asked the little girl
"That is happening?" asked Jacob "I completely forgot about that"
"That's ok you can tag along with us," said the woman
As they travel Jacob begins wandering what he will do when he arrives. Will he be able to find his family?
Arnold is finally able to re-fuse Jacobs wand. He looks up from his work table and notices Jacob is not in the room anymore.
"Now where did he go?" muttered Arnold
After a few minutes of looking around the room to see if Jacob is hiding some and says,
"Appare Vestigum'
And a tracking spell fills the room.
"Ah Yes, I see" says Arnold, as he watches Jacobs resent actions
Once he sees that Jacob had picked the lock on the door, he dashed up the staircase and to his utter disgust he finds the door unlocked.
"Jacob!" he cried, angrily
"Wait I am getting something else. Arnold is following Jacob to the world cup," said Queenie
"What's the quickest way we can get there?" asked Tina
"I'll call a group of Auroras to help us out," said the minister
"I think we should travel by broomstick" said Newt "So we can get a better view of where they might be"
"While the minister collects his Auroras, we should probably collect our brooms," said Leta
"Unless he brings some from the ministry," said Jack
Jacob and the Culagen family come to the last stop before the Quidditch cup. There were several brooms floating in the air.
"Why are there so many of them?" asked Jacob
"This is one of the more common routes to the game. There is so many so that everyone who comes this way has a broom," said Michel
"That makes sense," said Jacob
They each picked up a broom and started flying. After a few minutes Arnold arrives in the air by them and begins shooting them with spells.
"What does he want with us? We haven't anything wrong," said the woman
"He's not after you, he's after me" said Jacob "All of you get as far away as possible"
"What's your name?" called Michel
"Jacob. Jacob Scamander" Jacob called
They the family flew away and Jacob was left to deal with Arnold.
The group landed in a field Near where the Quidditch world cup was being held. Suddenly a family flew out of the air. Newt went over to talk to them to see if they were all right. After a moment of talking to them Newt came back to the group and told them what the family had seen.
"Jacob was being chased by Arnold on brooms. He told the family to get out of the way before they got hurt," said Newt
Imideitly all the Arouras flew up to go help Jacob. After a second Tina and Leta flew up as well. Jacob Imideitly noticed the Arouras flying towards him and started flying down to the ground.
"Jacob, are you alright?" asked Leta, flying towards him
"Yeah, I'm alright," said Jacob
So, the three of them flew down to the ground. The Arouras were able to contain Arnold. They held him hostage until they arrived at the ministry. As soon as they heard he was contained the group went to Michel's tent.
"How did you escape Arnolds captivity Jacob?" asked Michel
"I picked the lock on the door," said Jacob
"You can really do that with a door that was magically locked shut?" asked Tina
"Yeah, I guess so," said Jacob
They were all silent for a second.
"Where's Jack?" asked Leta, suddenly
Jack was standing on a hill a little way away from the camp site. Thousands of miles away Arnold Transfers his powers to Jack before he gets taken to Azkaban. As Jack receives the powers, his eyes spark with a magic energy. One silver the other black.
