Just a warning. If you read the first chapter before I rewrote it then I urge you to go back and read it. The story has changed completely and nothing will make sense for you.

Also, if a piece of text has ~ at the beginning and end, it means it's telecommunication like a phone or radio.

Chapter 2: Celebration

Since the exam Dexter and Hagakure have been sending texts and talking on the phone. They made sure to give eachother their numbers while on the train ride back. Their talks usually consisted of their past schools or maybe a new idea for an invention Dexter had.

Right now the phone was on speaker as Dexter was in his workshop working on a piece of equipment. He calls it trapping foam. It's a small yellow ball that's supposed to expand into foam and harden. Right now he's having trouble fine tuning the ingredients.

~"So what's the problem you're having again?"~

"Right now the foam is too soft and expands too much. I don't want it to cover the entire body, just like the torso or legs. Don't want the enemy suffocating by accident now." He poured a small vial worth of a red liquid and another slightly large vial of a green liquid into a bigger vial which was empty. The reaction became yellow and stabilized after some bubbling. "Test number 37 seems to be reacting right." He jotted down on a notepad his findings.

~"You think this could be the one?"~

"Dunno for sure. I used less red this time to allow the green to take charge and hopefully harden more but by doing so I could be compromising the sensitivity. In other words, harder but more sensitive." He grabbed a small spherical casing and carefully filled it up with the yellow liquid. He then placed it to the side to allow it to warm up. "Guess all that's left to do is allow it to heat up and test it out later."

~"Hmmm… I'll be right back, there's a knock at the door." Follow by foot steps~

"Ok…" As Dexter removed his goggles from his eyes, he too received a knock at the door. "Hell of a timing." He removed his gloves and made his way to the front door. "Yellow," He said as he opened the door.

"Letter for Dexter Certex."

"Thatsa a me." The postman handed him an envelope.

"Have a good day." He turned around and left as Dexter closed the door and went back to his workshop.

As he got closer he heard his phone repetitively saying his name.

~"Certex! Certex! Certex!"~

"What! What! What!" He chuckled.

~"It's here!"~

"What is?" He placed the envelope on his desk then pulled a roller chair over and sat down.

~"The U.A. letter!"~

"Is that what this is?" He inspected the letter, sure enough it has the U.A. wax seal.

~"You got yours too!"~

"Seems like it." He couldn't help but smile at her excitement.

~"Ok, ok, ok. Let's end the call, read the letters then call back and tell each other the results."~

"Sure, let's do it. Cya in a bit."

~"Good luck!"~

"You too." He pressed the button and ended the call. He then looked at the letter once again inspecting it. Opening the envelope revealed a piece of paper and a holographic projector. He inspected the projector and found the on switch and flipped it. Suddenly a projection sprung to life and on it was… All Might, the number 1 hero. How unexpected.

"Greetings young Certex! It is I All Might!" To any normal hero wannabe, seeing All Might would be awesome but to Dexter his reaction was 'cool'. "I shall be announcing your test scores! First up! While I'm sure you know that you passed your written test, I must say I am quite impressed. Not even I knew all of the stuff written on there yet you passed with 100%! Congratulations young man!" On the screen behind All Might was the written test scores of all the students and there at the top was he himself. In second place though was Mei Hatsume who received the same score as him.

"Interesting…" He thought. No one in his age group has ever matched him in scores like that.

"Now! Your practical was just as impressive! You were not expected to finish the robot yet you finished it with time to spare and in perfect stability. 100 points! From the start you wowed your examiners and in the end you had them vouching for you. You've truly earned your place in U.A! Welcome to your supporting academia! Your class is 1-H! See the sheet of paper for more details." The hologram shut off leaving Dexter sitting in complete silence. Despite his place being confirmed his worries stayed. He was never worried about his place but Hagakure's. His phone suddenly began to ring. As expected, his phone read Toru Hagakure. He picked it up and answered the call, immediately being greeted by a screech.

~"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!"~

"Ow…" He said, pulling the phone away from his ears.

~"Sorry. I got in!"~

"That's Great news!" He secretly breathed a sigh of relief, no longer having to worry for her. "I got in as well."

~"We should celebrate!"~

"How so? You got any ideas?"

~"There's this expensive dessert parlour I've wanted to visit for so long!"~

He knew that she was baiting him, she's been talking of a certain dessert parlour since they started talking. "Let me guess, is it the Crêped crusader?"

~"How'd you know."~ Dexter could hear the grin on her face.

"You mention it all the time." They both chuckled. "I guess it is something worth celebrating. How about 11 tomorrow?"

~"Sure! I'll send you the meeting place! See you there! Byeee!"~ She hung up.

Once the phone hung up, Dexter went to check up on the trapping foam. He picked it up and removed the casing. It was there when he realized something big, for he had just made a date with Hagakure. They say his blush grew 3 sizes that day and so did the foam as it expanded when it fell out of his hand and hit the floor, pinning him to a wall. "Uh-oh. I guess this is my life for the next hour…" The family is out right now and won't be back for awhile, so he is effectively stuck with nothing but his thoughts. "Mental note. Test 37, Failure."

The next morning was a panicky one. He woke up at 6:00am on the dot to make sure everything was ready. Overkill for an 11:00am date but his social anxiety told him to not Feast on Under Cooked Kebabs this up and to do everything he could, even if it wasn't an official date, it sure felt like one.

He laid out a casual formal outfit consisting of a plain white t-shirt, yellow flannel shirt and blue jeans. He made sure to iron them all and hang them up on a door while he took a shower and freshened up. He told himself to stay out of his workshop for 2 reasons, it's dirty and he can't help himself from tinkering when he's in there.

He was pretty much done around 7:30 so he decided to make his little sister some breakfast for when she awoke. He always made sure to make a balanced meal for her, after all a 6 year old has to grow up healthy. He was always the one who made dinner and cleaned the house as his parents were always out at work and rarely ever at home. So it was usually him and his sister when she wasn't out playing with friends.

As usual the smell of breakfast woke Seliana from her slumber, her footsteps being noticed by her brother. She entered the kitchen and sat down at the table, Dexter then placed a plate of food in front of her. "Good morning Selia."

"Good morning." she yawned and rubbed her eyes. She grabbed her fork and began to eat. Dexter sat down next to her and began eating his own breakfast.

"Hey, Selia. I'm going to meet a friend at 11:00, so I'm going to need to drop you off at your Chigusa's. Is that alright?" Chigusa is Seliana's friend. Seliana stopped and looked at him for a few seconds. She did that sometimes when she activated her quirk.

"Okay." She nodded and went back to eating her breakfast. Now that that's settled, all that was left for him was to contact her friend's mum and make arrangements.

"If you're good and don't use your quirk on people without their permission, then I may just get you a treat. How's that sound?" Her face lit up at the mention of a treat.

"OKAY!" Seeing her smile reinforced what he wanted most in his life, to protect that smile from the horrors of villainy.

He placed his hand on top of her head and gave it a rubbing, messing up her hair in the process. "You little sweet devil!" They both laughed and talked as they ate their respective breakfasts.

Dexter stood dressed in his yellow flannel, white T and blue jeans, outside of Chigusa's house. He knelt down in front of Seliana and placed his hands on her shoulders, "you remember what I said?"

"Yep. Don't use my quirk unless I was given permission!" She said as Dexter straightened out her blue skirt.

"Very good." He gave her a small peck on the forehead, "now get going."

"Bye bye!" She waved goodbye as he left for the station.

Now came the hard part, the unintentional date with his newly acquired friend. Combine it with his social anxiety and the packed area that the shop resides in, this was going to be one difficult day for sure.

The whole train ride he was adjusting his outfit and goggles, making sure they were perfect if such a thing exists. He went over possible mistakes and disasters in his head. What if he didn't bring enough money, what if he spills a drink on her or maybe just maybe the whole damn parlour just ups and explodes on them. Don't you go telling me you don't worry about these things.

These are the sort of things that his anxiety can do to him, on top of the physical stuff. He can't help it, it's just how his body works.

Upon the train announcing his last stop, Hosu, He did one final check before leaving the train and heading off for the town square, their meeting area. 'I hope she's there. If not, I'm going to have to wait in a densely populated area.' His watch read 10:59, so there should be no waiting if she's on time.

He reached the square and scanned the area for her, nothing. He opted to use his quirk to locate her, still nothing. At this point it wasn't looking good, until he received a tap on the shoulder. "Goodmorning Certex."

He mentally wiped a sweat from his mental brow. "Ah, good morning to you too, Hagakure." He took a look at her outfit. A white t-shirt with pink kitten on it, tan short and semi-tall black socks. He couldn't help but blush, she looked cute in it. "You uh… Look good in that."

Hagakure was caught off guard by the compliment and grew a little red herself, she's not used to getting compliments on her appearance often, being invisible will do that to you. "Thanks… You looked good yourself." And now it was just awkward between the two, as the both looked downwards in embarrassment.

Dexter eventually spoke, "let's get moving. The desserts won't eat themselves in celebration…"

"RIGHT! Follow me! Haha…" Hagakure led the very awkward and silent way to the dessert parlour. Both of them wanted to break the tension but they didn't know how, they were just too embarrassed. Neither gets complimented on their appearance very often outside of their own families.

The silence continued upon reaching the parlour. They sat down across from each other, next to a large window and began reading the menu. "1300 YEN FOR A CREPE! WHAT THE DOUBLE HELIX! That's practically robbery!"

Hagakure giggled at his outburst. "I told you they were expensive. The price is why I never came here before but my classmates tell me it's so worth it."

Dexter rubbed the back of his head and sighed. "If you say so…" They picked what they wanted from the menu, with Dexter opting for the caramel crepe and a banana milkshake and Hagakure getting a caramel crepe herself with a strawberry milkshake. "Didn't know you liked caramel as well."

"Of course I do, It's delicious!" She said with passion, "It's my favourite!"

"Out of thousands of foods, we happen to pick the same to call our favourite. The universe is a mystery in how it operates." It truly was a major coincidence. Caramel has always been a favourite of Dexter's ever since he was little. He truly did not expect this.

"I have a question for you. What's that accent you speak with?" It's been nagging Hagakure for a while now.

Dexter meanwhile had no idea he spoke with an accent. "I have an accent?"

"It's more prominent when you're surprised." That came as a shock.

"Well… I was born in England but moved to Japan shortly after I turned 3. My dad's english while my mother is japanese. I guess I just take after my dad in that regard." A look of slight disgust made its way to his face, though it went unnoticed by Hagakure.

Hagakure then began to wonder about something. "What do your parents do? I mean, you have the money to create a lot of things. It's got to come from somewhere."

Uh-oh. This was a question he hoped to avoid, he'd hate to lie to her but then again, it's not lying if you leave a few details out… Right? "My uhh dad owns his own shipping company. Y'know, import and export sort of thing." He then spotted the waiter coming with their orders, allowing for the perfect topic change. "Ahh! Look at that, our food has arrived. Let's pay attention to that instead." He quickly began to sip on his milkshake.

Hagakure was so distracted by the waiter that she didn't even notice the obviousness that was Dexter. "Wow! This looks amazing! They're so big!" She was practically salivating at the crepe.

Dexter looked down at his crepe, it did look good. He activated his quirk to see the quality of the ingredients used. They looked mostly high quality, impressing Dexter. 'Maybe this will be worth the money' He thought.

He watched as Hagakure took a bite of her crepe and saw pure bliss upon her face, he thought it was cute. Seeing Hagakure's bliss made him want to try his even more, so he did and it tasted GOOD. Truly a crepe made by a master crepesmith.

They continued to talk as they ate. Luckily for Dexter, Hagakure didn't bring up his parents again. At the end of the venture Dexter came to the conclusion that they were indeed worth the money. Before they left, Dexter made sure not to leave without picking up a strawberry Tart for his sister, Seliana.

They closed the door with the ring from the bell echoing through the parlour. Stepping out onto the stone pavement, their ears bore witness to someone Dexter doesn't like very much. A mocking male tone assaulted them from behind. "Oh? Who is that now? Is it a pervert? Hahaha! I see you got yourself an imaginary girlfriend."

Dexter let out a big sigh and limply turned around to face their attacker. "Tetsui. Been awhile. You seem well." He fake complimented him in an exhausted maner, already tired of him.

"Cut the crap, Certex! I want to know how your perverted ass got onto U.A's support course WHILE I'M STUCK IN GOD DAMN GENERAL STUDIES!" Tetsui went up and grabbed Dexter by the collar. Tetsui was Dexter's biggest nuisance in school, any name calling or physical confrontations were usually caused by him and his goonies.

Tetsui used his steel arms and lifted Dexter into the air by his collar. Hagakure was about to interfere but Dexter put his hand up to stop her. "If you don't start talking. Then I'll START DRILLING!" Tetsui's elbow then instantly extended from his arm resembling a piston.

Dexter kept his arms and legs limp. "We're in public Tetsui and you're doing this. You're a smart guy, figure it out. Just calm down, I'd rather you'd not go to prison."

Tetsui considered his options. Looking around he found a few prying eyes staring at them all. Decided that putting him down was the best course of action. "Tsk." As Dexter brushed himself off and straightened himself, Tatsui just walked off with his hands in his pocket and hood up.

"He's not a pervert!" Dexter looked up to find Hagakure shouting towards Tatsui, "He's a really nice guy when you get to know him!" Tatsui didn't stop, he just kept on walking. It was unknown if he was even listening. Dexter just blushed at Hagakure defending him like this, "And we're not dating!" And now amongst the manic laughter of Tatsui did Dexter sweat drop.

Hagakure turned to Dexter, arms crossed and cheeks puffed. "Who even is that guy?"

"An old classmate of mine. Don't worry about him."

Her mood dimmed a little "If you say so…" They began to walk back to the train station when Hagakure stopped, grabbing Dexter's attention. "Hey… Do you still have time?" She asked.

Dexter checked his watch. "I guess so, why? You want to-do something else?"

She started pushing her pointer fingers together. "I kinda want to go window shopping, if you have time I mean. I can always just go by myself." The blushing and the finger touching was just too cute for Dexter to resist.

"I guess I can, I mean it's only been like 20 minutes and it's only window shopping. Why not."

Hagakure immediately gained a great big smile and somehow got even more energetic. "Yay! Let's go!" she said, once again leading him by the arm.

They went from window to window, shop to shop. Seeing Hagakure's smiling at every window caused Dexter to chuckle. Eventually the two of them ended up in front of an arcade. "Haven't been to an arcade for awhile. You wanna go in?" Asked Dexter.

"I would but I didn't bring enough money." Hagakure said, looking dejected.

Dexter hated that look on her. Sure it looked adorable but he much preferred the happier expressions. "Don't worry about that, I'll pay for us both." He pulled out his grey silicone wallet.

Hagakure made a shocked expression. "Are- are you sure? I don't want to be a burden to you."

He just waved her off. "Course I'm sure. C'mon" He entered the arcade and waved for Hagakure to follow. His family was good on money so it wasn't a problem.

The arcade was massive and had many game cabinets with the likeness of heroes on them. There were a bunch of retro games sporting old heroes like "Gran Torino's Grand Capture Mission" where you played as the old hero Gran Torino and raced around a city capturing escaped villains. There were also retro retro games like Donkey Kong and Frogger.

Hagakure was ecstatic, racing around the arcade like a little kid. Bouncing between the cabinets. While she went and chose a game to play, Dexter went and grabbed a couple tokens for the two of them to play. He bent down and pocketed the token but when he stood up, Hagakure was nowhere to be seen. He began wandering around the arcade and found her waving him down next to a racing game.

The cabinet read "All Might's Ultra Hero Racing". He had heard of the game. Apparently it had heroes and villains from this generation. It's also really popular with the kids for its over the top representation of certain elements.

Dexter input two tokens for the two of them to go head to head. Hagakure sat down in the seat coloured like All Might's golden age outfit while Dexter took the silver age seat.

"You're going down!" Taunted Hagakure.

"This may be my first time playing but my intellect Shall see my aim true!" Jokily retorted Dexter.

The game screen showed 8 characters, 4 heroes and 4 villains. All Might, Ingenium, Ryukyu and Slidin' Go.

For the Villains there were. Chain Gore, who's known for his chainsaw arms and legs. Ballin', who's quirk allows them to transform into a ball. Terror Wave, who rides on a wave of acid with a surfboard. And finally Basilisk, who can transform into a basilisk.

Each character comes with their own stats, bonuses and ultimate. All Might's an all rounder. Ingenium focuses on speed but has a hard time slowing down. Ryuku can fly over certain stage hazards but is slower. Slidin' Go has bad handling but doesn't lose momentum when he hits a wall.

Chain Gore has good handling but is slow. Ballin' bounces off walls and loses more moments because of it but he can knock other racers around more. Terror Wave has low stats all around but his ult is devastating. Basilisk is slow but if you perfect the motion to give her boost, she becomes the best in the game and sees a lot of competitive play, it's really difficult though.

Hagakure decided to go All Might with him then saying "I AM HERE!" Upon selection.

Dexter chose Chain Gore as he secretly enjoys the villain's aesthetic. He said "I'm revved up! Hahahaha!" In his usual manic voice.

Hagakure was able to choose the stage and chose Might Tower, All Might's hero agency. "I know every shortcut on this map." Hagakure stated her advantage or so she thought.

When they spawned in, no one had a cart, they just used their legs or quirk or both. For example, Ryukyu was in her dragon form only smaller.

Hagakure was lucky enough to spawn right up front and Dexter in the back with 6 AI in between them, though not a problem for him.

Nezu then spawned on screen holding race flags. "Ready?" Dexter pulled down his goggles onto his eyes, "Set." He smirked, "PLUS ULTRA!" Everyone blasted off at a rocket's pace.

Chain Gore rode on his chainsaw legs to quickly overtake the slithering Basilisk, the AI doesn't seem to be any good at using her boost. He made sure to stay behind the flying Ryukyu, trying to get her slipstream. Eventually the stream was given and Chain Gore slipped on by.

A row of backup radios then made themself visible in the road, this game's item boxes. Hagakure ran into one and earned a Cementoss backup. She activated the backup and a cement wall suddenly appeared behind her on the bend. "Ha trying getting past that!" She said. The wall blocked nearly the entire path making it almost certain that he would either run into the cement wall like Ballin' did or the tracks wall.

Dexter did not worry. He steeled himself getting ready. He has made the mental calculation necessary to pass this wall. It would be tight but possible. He got close and close, making sure to come in at the correct angle. Then he suddenly pressed down on the pendel and twisted the wheel forcefully, performing a drift in-game and drifting just barely in between the two obstructions. "YES!" He shouted in victory, "Can't keep me out of the race!" Hagakure was impressed but not pleased, for he was her biggest problem.

The race suddenly changed to riding up the side of the tower surprising Dexter but not throwing him off. A warning symbol then made itself noticed as it showed a Hawks feathers heading straight for him, the perpetrator being Ballin'. With no radios in sight he had no backup to protect him but he did have a slippery hero next to him though. He quickly swerved to get in front of Slidin' Go and forced the feather to hit him instead, saving Chain Gore from spinning out. Now only two remain between them, Ingenuim who is currently neck and neck with Hagakure's All Might and Toxic Wave who nearly has their ult.

Speaking of ult, Hagakure has just used her's. All Might jumped high into the sky and started a cinematic. As he fell towards the ground he yelled out "UNITED STATES OF SMASH!" The cinematic showed his fist hitting the ground and causing a shock wave then the game resumed. A shockwave shot out from All Might causing ingenium to trip and spin out. Just as Toxic Wave surpassed him Chain Gore stole second place from right under Toxic Wave. The Finish was now in sight.

Toxic Wave suddenly used his own ult causing Hagakure the gasp but Dexter had been waiting for this. He may have never played the game before but he sure had heard of this infamous game winning ult. A cinematic played again, this time Toxic Wave did the hang loose hand sign as his acid wave turned into a Tsunami. The game then resumed and immediately Chain Gore used his ult.

A cinematic played. Chain Gore grabbed the ripcords on his legs and pulled, overclocking them, he then grabbed the ripcords on his arms causing them to spin and held his arms to his sides. The game then resumed. Now a giant wave of acid with Toxic Wave riding it, was chasing a sped up Chain Gore. Chain Gore was barely able to stay out of TW's wave as he caught up to All Might making sure to sideswipe him with his chainsaw arms, causing him to trip and spin out.

Victory music began to play as Chain Gore passed the finish line in 1st place.

"HAHAHAHAHA!" Dexter laughed as he defended himself from a flurry of attacks from a slightly annoyed Hagakure by raising his arms.

"You cheated didn't you!" She said still attacking the victory. "You used your quirk, I know you did!"

"If I had used my quirk then you would have known. My eyes glow, remember."

Hagakure turned around and puffed her cheeks. "Hmph! I'll just have to beat you at the next one." She then went off to find the next game to play, Dexter following behind still snickering.

They played a multitude of games and Dexter won the majority of them with Hagakure winning most of the luck based games. Win or lose they enjoyed the game. Hagakure especially enjoyed demolishing Dexter and Disco Lads Dancing Frenzy. Dexter looked more like a drunk old man than a disco dancer. It confused him deeply considering his athleticism.

They were looking for the next game to play when Dexter checked his watch, it read 03:23pm. "We best get moving, I need to pick up my little sister."

Hagakure stopped and turned around, "Selia? Where did you drop her off?"

"He friends place," he replied, "She'll be wanting to go home now."

"Ok then, you shouldn't keep her waiting." As they were about to hit the exit, Hagakure suddenly stopped in front of a claw machine.

Dexter noticed this and walked back to her, "What's up."

"IT'S SO CUTE!" Dexter suddenly had his head shoved into the glass of a claw machine.

"Which one?" He said muffled by the glass.

Hagakure then used her finger to point towards the large pink 2 tailed cat plushie, it was almost as tall as her. "I WANT IT SO MUCH!"

Dexter managed to get his head free and looked the machine up and down using his quirk. He then looked back at Hagakure. "Hate to say it but you won't be able to get it. Not Even I could."

"Whaaaaat? How come?" She said all droopy and dejected.

"These things run on a weight. The more weight detected the stronger the claw."

"Ok and?"

He sighed and continued. "To increase the weight you have to use tokens and right now there's not a lot of coins in here." He said, giving the machine a light kick.

"Awwwww…" Moned Hagakure. "But I really wanted it…" The disappointment in her voice made Dexter feel like he let her down. They walked out of the arcade with Hagakure moaning about how she really wanted the cat.

Dexter sighed a big one and said to Hagakure "wait right here." He then went back into the arcade leaving Hagakure confused and didn't come out for 10 minutes. When he did he was holding the pink cat.

Hagakure's eyes lit up like fireworks upon seeing the cat in his arms. "How did you get this!"

"I found another claw machine and won it there." He said, rubbing the back of his head and laughing awkwardly. 'That's 30000 yen I'm not getting back. Blood weighted claws.' He then passed her the cat as she then began hugging like crazy.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Seeing that look on her face made the 30000 yen worth it. Besides, the process of putting the money in 300 yen at a time was the hard part.

That night Dexter couldn't get that face out of his memories. The face she had while she hugged that cat made him feel warm and happy. He always dreamed of making smiles like that a reality. Who was he kidding though, dreams are dreams and nothing more. He knew when his reality was headed and it wasn't towards New World Robotics.

Thank you for reading this chapter! I have a few things I want to say before I end this.

Number 1 is that I was ill while writing from the parlour onwards so if it's bad I have an excuse and it wasn't my lack of talent.

Number 2 is please tell me how I can improve, I can't improve without input from the readers. That's just how writing is. You can improve bit by bit but the big improvements come from the readers.

I hope you'll continue to read this story and I completely understand if you don't OC stories ain't for everyone.

Luv ya fellas and felletts! BYE!
