Chapter 1
Disclaimer: I got the inspiration for this story from Takara Pheonix, so you should really check out their PJO content. I would love to own PJO, BOO and all, but they all belong to Rick Riordan. Enjoy the fic and have a good day.
"I expected a lot of things to happen after the Giant War, this isn't one of them" said Annabeth. Even if she was enjoying herself, she was still exasperated with the situation.
"Come one Annie, after all the shit we've been through, we deserve to do something dumb" said Piper. After defeating Gaea, Annabeth and Percy decided to mutually break up since both the Giant and Titan war changed them so much that they predicted if they don't their relationship will become toxic in the end.
They are still friends though, best friends. Even if they are broken up they still care deeply for each other, nothing will be able to seperate them. Though the Aphrodite cabin and the goddess herself were inconsolable when the news of their break reached them; Athena on the other hand was happy her daughter broke up with the seaspawn.
"I know we do Piper, doing this IS dumb."
"Your point?" Piper asked while raising an eyebrow.
Now that demigods are finally given a break from wars, they proposed a game. Percy, Nico, Thalia, Jason, Hazel, and Tyson will race from Camp Jupiter to Camp Half-blood while killing monsters, in pairs. The duo that kills the most monsters wins. Residents of both camps are all watching, with help of Hecate cabin and Lady Iris.
"It's also twice as entertaining since both Nico and Jason are fighting to see who will date Percy '' says Piper while giggling maniacally.
"Ok I admit it is funny watching those idiots try to ask out Percy, while they sabotage each other" Annabeth confessed. Suddenly a loud voice shouted, scaring both girls.
"GO THALIA! Beat their asses!" Thalia's second-in-command, Phoebe, cheers for the Lieutenant of Artemis. Who knew The Hunt are basically cheerleaders when their lieutenant is competing.
"So who do you think will win?" Piper suddenly asked.
"The race or Percy's heart?" Annabeth replied back.
"Both?"
"Honestly, I think Percy is playing the 'dumb and oblivious' card so he can spare their feelings and friendship" Annabeth answers. "There is subtlety, which Percy never will pick up on, but they have been throwing themselves at him so even he will hint. Percy is oblivious but not THAT oblivious."
Oh Annabeth how right you are.
