The Wild Fox

I don't own Naruto, just a fan who wanted to try a spin and make his own story after reading so many

Prologue: A tale as old as time

It took years for Naruto to understand that people didn't like him, and even longer for him to realize that he didn't care. Some would say that made him a cynical bastard, he would say to stop using such boring words and allow him to find out if you're opinion was even worth caring about. Of course, in a much more…physical manner.

"A'ight, listen, I dunno who you think you are, but if you keep yapping on when I'm eating, you're going to meet Sensei Yakushi, got it?", growled out a very annoyed, very, preoccupied blond-haired eight-year-old, seriously, Ramen Time was sacred and nodo-…

The porcelain shattering onto the floor of the stand, spilling the precious broth, Menma, and noodles were complimented by the spray of crimson as an almost Gennin's nose was broken in the first punch, and his body hurled across out of the humble stand into the empty street.

"Now look, I'm a nice guy, I enjoy a good spar now and then, but to commit sacrilege against Ramen no Kami-Sama, well," a resounding crack as the eight-year-old popped his knuckles, the split skin ignored as he got into a rough stance that would make Taijutsu enthusiasts' weep. Shoulders squared, hands outstretched prepared to strike, feet rooted to the ground, and a grinning face despite his anger, his blood pumping in anticipation of the fight soon to occur. The wild face of a berserker challenged the pre-teen and his two friends that seemed eager to put the academy runt in his place. "Are we going to keep staring at each other, or are you, beauty queens, going to learn why you shouldn't try to beat down your next Hokage?", and with a roar he charged into the fray.

Chapter 1: Consequences, consequences.

It was a familiar scene for Naruto and anyone who knew him as he sat on a chair in an empty room, the other three students being looked over by the medic-nin trainees that volunteered at the Academy while the class had an extra thirty minutes of break as Iruka attempted to beat some sense into the young ninja.

"But Iru-," the young boy tried explaining before quickly being shut down by the irate Sensei.

"NARUTO, you just can't beat down everyone who comes after you, how are we supposed to take you seriously, if you, a future Ninja of the Leaf, insist on getting into brawls every time someone pisses you off you little brat!" At the end of the tirade, even the bruised Naruto couldn't help but look down ashamed. Maybe he shouldn't have kicked them when they finally went down…but his Ramen would never know peace…it was probably already cleaned up by Ayame-nee-Chan and…and…thrown away.

"I'm sorry Iruka-Sensei, I just…I wanted to eat, and, well, they were asking for it, besides!" He shouts, quickly rebounding from his previous melancholy state, "I helped you out!", he states confidently, even as Iruka stared at him confounded on how Naruto ever could have come up with that.

"Well, I mean, they were fifth-year students, right? About to pass?", he asked, for clarification seeing his Sensei's confused face.

"Well yes, but I don't understand how that has anything to do with the incident," Iruka affirmed, playing along to see if maybe, by understanding Naruto's logic he could get through his thick skull.

"I saved you the trouble of failing them!," Naruto beamed back, "After all if they couldn't beat me, when I just joined the academy, and even duck-hair gives me a run for my money when it comes to…to…uh…taichu?", he said/asked, why were words so hard, why couldn't it be called something simple like, punching time, or how skilled you are at beating someone up? Blah, that stuff hurt his head.

"Taijutsu Naruto, Taijutsu, and…," Iruka lets out a sigh before getting up and walking to the door before he addresses his young student one last time," just don't do it again Naruto, it's your second year, you only have three years left here, and you won't become a ninja just because you can punch hard." With his piece said, he walks outside to gather the rest of the class, hopefully, he could cram the lesson in fast or they might have to be assigned homework, and Kami knows he didn't need another reason to have a one-on-one with Naruto so soon.

Not once did he look back, and see the enthusiasm die in the young blonde's face as his antics were just thrown aside, again…maybe he should start pranking again? No, it was expensive to buy all the stuff, and besides, his body never stayed down for long for some reason, it was one way to blow off steam at least.

"Well Naruto, is it good? Or do I need some more lessons from Tou-San?," the young brunette asked the blonde, giggling as the slurping told her the answer before the black hole even stopped to speak.

"OWFS CSFORSE NAT," he mumbled out in between slurps, truly, the Ichiraku family were angels sent by Ramen no Kami-Sama to bless him. A meaty thump forced him to swallow the rest of the food as a voice bellowed out in laughter at his antics.

"Swallow kid, but I'm glad you like Ayame-Chan's cooking, but what's this I hear about fighting in the stand? I swear I leave for one delivery and a storm breaks out with you at the middle Naruto," said an older man, sharing some features with Ayame but taller, tanned and weathered from years of work.\

"Jiji!," shouted Naruto as he stopped eating and hugged old man Ichiraku, before pulling away and laughing nervously," yeah, sorry about that…but you know how it is, fights come to me ya know?" He said nervously, he might be stronger than most, but he wouldn't forget that it was this old man that taught him everything he knew.

A hearty laugh meets his ears before the old man waves away his words. "It's fine Naruto, just joking around you know? Besides, if I didn't want you to be able to defend yourself I wouldn't have taught you how to fight," he says with a jovial smile.

The father and daughter smile warmly at the young brat, who didn't hesitate to bask in the warmth that this family gave him, it was true, he taught him everything he knew, but hopefully, he'd learn more, cause in that last Taichow match duck-hair almost won when he kept acting like he knew what Naruto was going to do. After a while he even believed him, thank Ramen Kami-Sama that he couldn't take a punch, or really give one, oh well, hopefully, duck-hair would learn something too.

Alright, tell me what yall think in the reviews, I'm trying something of a boxer Naruto, less brains more brawn kinda deal, the next chapter will focus on the academy and probably be a mix between the rest of the Second Year and Third Year. Hope yall enjoyed it.
