Simple: Hello, I'll keep it simple. I got information on a potential assault on a local police precinct in my district. Neither the police or heroes believe me due to my…previous history. My friend is in that precinct, he didn't sign up for some sort of villain attack to be made at his work like this. I don't know if the rumors are true that you're who they say you are, but if you are…please. I don't want to see him hurt or worse because no one would listen.

OutWatched: Understood. Please provide me with the information of the supposed attackers, and the location of the precinct.

Simple: You're real then? Okay, the group is named-

(Iragishi, Kyoto Prefecture)

The city of Iragishi seemed to be in a lull as not much noise was made from traffic, and the hum of the lights of the city seemed to dazzle the skyline instead of hiding it away. The stars were shining gently in the sky, the moon half full and not a cloud in the sky after the heavy rainfall that swamped the coastal city. This was a day the city needed, a day to relax and collect themselves after the tempest that battered their town into a sleepy daze. Atleast, that's what the city deserved. But sadly, the man sitting across the street of the police precinct knew that wasn't what was going to happen tonight. He sat atop the building, looking down at the building as he hoped the information given to him wasn't just another prank some random kid made when they heard about the Gathering website. Things have been slow for the man ever since the original website he used was taken down by the Government due to possible vigilante work being taken via the encrypted messaging the website offered. Thankfully for him, he knew how to upgrade the original format of the website and renamed it, making it much harder to track to the naked eye since it was covered as a blogging website. Though, if the person looking for help knew to, they could access the backdoor into the real meat the Gathering could offer.

With a heavy sigh the man stood up, looking down at the building once again before turning to gather his things. It was another dud it seemed, and he could be off doing actual work instead of sitting here and waiting for an attack to happen. Lady destiny decided against that though. As he turned around to start packing up his gear, a scream was heard from below. The man was quick to turn around, looking down to see smoke starting to rise from the windows of the building and sounds of bullets being fired from their pistols. With an annoyed grunt he grabbed what he thought he would need and jumped down from the building. With a thud he landed, looking around as both police and criminal fought. Without a second of hesitation, he rushed into the fray, charging headlong into the villainous forces as he held his duel pistols in hand. The villains weren't prepared for an assault by a man clad in a leather jacket, nor were they prepared to feel the pulsing sting of the ammunition the pistols he fired gave off. The police didn't know what was happening, and the heroes were still minutes away. They stopped firing, looking at the one man army taking down petty criminal after petty criminal. They saw the pistols the man had, and noticed they were…different.

Each pistol seemed to have a futuristic design to them, looking fully automatic in design as he fired them with masterful precision. When he unloaded the first round of clips, one of them tattered against the cement of the road and skidded close enough for the police to see it. It wasn't a magazine they were used to, it didn't seem to hold bullets in it but looked like some sort of charged battery. When they tried to pick it up, the device sent off a shock, electrocuting the officer slightly and fell to the ground out of his hand. The officer then turned back to see the man dodging and weaving through a barrage of punches be delivered by a gorilla looking thug, each thrust of his fist missing by inches before the man put the barrel to the thug's chin and fired the weird discharge into his head. There was no blood, just like the others he had taken down, but the man convulsed and fell to the ground shaking slightly from the pulse he took head on.

By the time the heroes showed up, the man had already finished taking down the majority of the criminals, all of the ones he took down tied to one another in a group while the two or three he couldn't get to in time had fled in fear of the strange man. When a hero walked to the stranger, she was greeted by a tactical visor over the man's eyes, with a slim black mask attached and covering his face completely except for the skin on his forehead. The man's head was covered in a mess of green hair that was joined together into a small ponytail at the back of his head. With the features of the stranger in mind, the hero started to speak.

"Sir…you do realize what you did was an act of vigilantism, right? Despite your good deed and saving these officers, and the lives of those around the building, we need to turn you in."

The man turned to the hero, pistols still in hand as he breathed softly looking at the hero. He sighed, shaking his head. "Your name is Big River, right? The Waterflow hero?"

The hero smiled, nodding and hoping to bring this vigilante in with ease instead of having to bring him down. She was already annoyed he was here as it was. "I am, yes. So please, if you'd just-"

"Give up the false smiles, you fake."

Big River looked at him, her eyes peering into the visor of his as she took a deep breath. "Excuse me? I'm not the one pretending to be a hero without a license."

"I don't need a license to do what is right. And you are a fake. Hiring low level thugs to make a commotion for you to stop and gain some glory. It's pathetic."

This caught the attention of the other hero, a man with the charaistics of a rhino, walked over to the two as they stared one another down. "What is he talking about?"

She scoffed and looked at her comrade, bringing up an innocent smile. "Can you believe this guy Kumba? He thinks I hired these thugs to-"

"Make a commotion. I have proof, and if I didn't get here in time, then many officers could have died. Not to mention the civilians inside."

Again both Kumba and Big River looked at the stranger before them. He holstered a single pistol, bringing his arm up in front of him while the hand holding the other gun pressed a few buttons in quick order to bring up the emails his informant leaked to him. He enlarged the images for Kumba, while Big River seemed to shake in her boots as she was slowly being surrounded by the police officers she was accused of trying to sell out for her own gain.

"The emails are from her personal email, she didn't think anyone would look into it since she had no open reason to do so. However, she failed to realize that one of the gang she hired to attack the precinct is a brother to an officer here. Once he learned what his boss agreed to, he reached out to me because none of you believed him. If you people would stop looking down on people who made mistakes, this could have all been prevented. And this glory starved wrench you call a hero would have been dealt with without a single man or woman being hurt tonight."

Kumba turned around quickly, grabbing Big River and holding her arms behind her back before the police placed Quirk dampening cuffs around her wrists. After she was taken into custody, the hero known as Kumba turned back to the stranger and let out an annoyed grunt. "We can't look past the vigilantism you performed tonight…however." He smirked and turned his back, the officers smirking and doing the same and acting as if the stranger wasn't here. "There are practically no witnesses to this event, and the thugs you took down aren't going to admit to being defeated by a single man. Would hurt their egos. So if we turn around and act like nothing happened…"

The man smirked under his mask, nodding his head to the hero before making his way out of the street and heading to wherever he was heading.

(Unknown Locaton)

"Welcome home, Soldier."

The robotic voice of the computer booted back to life after the door to the room was opened, and the man moved to take his pistols and put them on the workbench before sitting down and starting to work on maintenance on the weapons. "Thank you, Athena. Any more notifications from the Gathering?"

"Negative, and as our precautions I have deleted all evidence of siad conversation from the files of the website. Are the Pulse Pistols damaged?"

"No, but the charge cells need to be reevaluated. The stored energy died out quickly under heavy fire, so I had to change the cells twice against that rabble."

"I see, I will begin looking into new materials and metals to reconstruct the original design. Were you able to test the Barrier Field gauntlet?"

"Sadly no, the thugs were undisciplined and didn't post much of a threat to me in close quarters. Not to mention they couldn't aim to save their lives. No pun intended."

That made the artificial intelligence known as Athena chuckle. "Very well. I look forward to seeing the gauntlet in action soon enough."

"Me and you both, Athena… Tell me Athena, is there anything going on in Musutafu?"

The computer screen soon pulled up a few news articles from the city's local news sources. "It seems there is a infamous Sludge Villain in town, however heroes are actively patrolling the area and several higher ranking heroes are assisting in the criminal's apprehension."

The man stopped working on the pistols as he heard the name. "The Sludge Villain is in Musutafu again? Is that what I heard?"

"Yes, the villain known simply as Sludge Villain, is in the area once again. Do you plan on taking a trip to your home town to hunt the villain down?"

"You already know I am going to. Double check the stability of the Pulse Rifle. Make sure it's ready to see combat. I am going to start packing what I need to."

"Soldier, I do not think it is wise to hunt such a powerful villain down. You are still new to combat. You need to prepare your body and skills more before tackling such a opponent."

The man sighed, taking his hand to his masked face and taking off the visor and mask, revealing his green eyes adorned with a single scar slack across under his eyes and over the bridge of his nose. "Athena…I need to hunt him down and end his spree of murder and theft. I need to…I need to…"

The AI sighed through its robotic voice, taking the news pages away and starting to calculate the best strategies to handle the Sludge Villain for the Soldier. She knew he wasn't going to give up the chance to take him down…and as he was getting up to start charging the remaining charge cells he had, the notification for a new message from the Gathering pinged on his phone.

LizardGirl113: Hello, I really hope this is a true thing. I'm looking for the man I heard about doing vigilante work, and I was told by someone named Simple that you're the person to go to. Please, I need his help, or your help, or whatever it is you can do. There is a terrible villain threatening my family. He snuck in through the sink, he is threatening to kill us if we inform the heroes that he's hiding in our home. I don't know what else to do, he is constantly watching us…and the only reason I can send this message is because he doesn't think anything of a gossip app. Please, I need him!

OutWatched: It's the Sludge Villain, isn't it? Either way, I am on my way. Stay calm, do not provoke him. I will handle this. Tell your folks when you get the chance to find cover once I get inside. I repeat, take cover. Now I need the address. Do not worry, I will save you. That's what a hero does, isnt it?

(Author's Notes)

(Welcome to my newest mash-up fanfiction. If you hadn't figured it out yet from the small clues in the chapter, this is going to be a My Hero Academia x Overwatch fanfiction. I am eager to write this one, since I have always been a fan of the designs, weapons, and many other things of Overwatch and thought it would make a good mash up for My Hero Academia. That being said, I will not be aligning any lore or history of Overwatch in its universe into this fanfic. I could not think of a solid explanation on how or why the technology of Overwatch, the Omnics, and Overwatch itself not being known or used in the MHA world without revamping the entire world from the beginning. So instead, this story will focus on the protagonist making -his- own Overwatch team! I hope you all enjoy it!)
