As darkest began to fall, Fitz laid awake in bed waiting for his phone to ring. Since earlier that evening when Olivia left, he'd been worrying and thinking about her nonstop. So many times he had to stop himself from picking up his phone and calling her, but he knew she had to handle this on her own, and if she needed his help, he trusted that she would call him. He just hoped everything would turn out ok, and they'd be in the clear.
Fitz would've never thought that he'd be so madly in love with a married, twenty-three year old who had a son. But at thirty-three years old, here he was. And it was great, as crazy as that sounds..
Falling in love with Olivia was the easiest thing he had ever done. She made him complete, and he couldn't wait to be able to love her freely and unapologetically. She deserved to be loved that way, to be cherished that way.
Fitz had so many plans for their future. He couldn't wait to explore the world with her, to make love to her in every new place they would discover together, just like they had talked about so many times before. He couldn't wait to make her his wife and watch her belly grow with his children. But that, that was if she wanted those things too- if she didn't, he'd just spoil the hell out of her and Isaiah, because he was apart of her. And loving her meant loving and accepting her son, too.

When his phone rang, he smiled knowing exactly who was on the other end. "Hi." He answered after a few rings.
His goofy grin could only expand when he heard her sweet voice greeting him back.
"How are you," Fitz asked.
"I'm great, Fitz." She grinned, and he could hear the happiness in her voice. "So that means everything's ok? Things went well? I'm assuming," he asked.
"Oh, Fitz. It couldn't have gone any better, baby," Olivia responded.
"Tell me about?" Fitz coaxed. "Of course. Just hold on for a second," she said. Then, she wrapped herself up in a blanket and took the time to move into the backyard. She didn't want Curtis to hear her explaining their situation to her boyfriend.
That just wouldn't be right.
After settling on the back porch and onto an old swing she purchased years ago, Olivia began telling him about the day she's had as she snuggled into the warm blanket; fighting off the night's cool air.
Fitz listened intently and he'd let her know that she had his full attention by going "Mhm" and "Wow, Livie" every so often. He was such a great listener and advice giver. By the time she finished explaining things to him, Fitz was as happy as she was. He wished he had her in his arms right now. "When are you coming home, Livie? I miss you."
Olivia's heart warmed. Home.
"Well, Curtis and I agreed that I should be the one to live here. And I can't just necessarily move Isaiah in with you, Fitz. So tomorrow, Curtis and I are going to explain things to Isaiah then he's gonna pack up and go."
Fitz went silent on the phone. All day he'd been missing her and couldn't wait until she returned home to him to be in his arms. Now, that wasn't going to happen?
"Fitz?" Olivia called. She felt an uneasy feeling when he didn't say anything again. "Baby, I'm sorry. I should've told you sooner but I was just so excited about letting you know that things were ok. Fitz, please say something."
"It's ok, Olivia." Fitz sighed heavily. "Don't apologize. I just miss you and I'm being a baby about it. You've done all of this for us. I guess I can wait a little longer. That'll just make the reunion so much sweeter."
Olivia smiled. Her big baby. "Mhm. So much sweeter. I'm sorry that I still have your car though." She giggled making Fitz chuckle. "It's ok. I have my baby Laren."
"Fitzgerald, don't make me hurt you," she said, smiling. She knew he was referring to his scarlet red McLaren GT. "I am your only baby, mister," she added with a little sass. Fitz laughed. "That you are, Livie. I love you so much, sweet baby."
"I love you too, Fitz. Thank you for being so understanding and patient with me."
"Baby, I'll wait for you as long as you need me to. We've got a lifetime to go."
Olivia smiled. Her heart was happy and her soul was content as his words washed over her like warm water. She couldn't believe things were finally going her way.
"I'm going to let you get some sleep, Liv. We both have pretty busy days tomorrow."
Olivia nodded. She didn't want to end the phone call, but she knew he was right. And her eyelids were definitely getting heavier as she wind down, making her way back into the guest bedroom. "Ok. Goodnight. Love you, Fitzy."
He smiled and shook his head at the nickname. "Love you too, Livie. Sleep well."
