I hope you are all enjoying this. I am trying to put a unique spin on Angela and Jordan but also trying to keep their typical behavior. Hope you all like the various quotes I have used from the show. Let me know in the reviews if there is something you would like me to add or something you would like to see happen. HAPPY READING!
Chapter Four
Jordan walked into the room as she closed the door. He sat on the edge of the bed, and she swallowed hard.
"Nice room." He patted the bed next to him. She walked over and took a seat. "Here." He handed her the beer in his hand.
She took a hearty sip and then went to hand it back to him but seconds later his mouth was attacking hers. It took her off guard as she pushed him back.
"Jesus Jordan. You have to warn me before you do that."
"Why? We used to kiss all the time among other things." He smirked and then went to kiss her again, but she stood up. He was clearly drunk and as much as she wanted to kiss him, she didn't want it like this. "Hey, listen if I read this wrong." He stood up now.
"You're drunk and I'm drunk. I just." She began to ramble as he neared her. She backed up until her back hit the wall.
"Are you saying you don't want me to kiss you?" He licked those damn lips again.
"I'm not saying that." She began and he leaned in once more. She pushed against his chest, and he looked at her with confusion.
"Why are you like this?" He seemed annoyed.
"Like what?"
"Like the way you are." He stepped back from her. "You changed, Red." He walked to the door.
"I changed? Now that is hilarious!" She laughed darkly as he stopped. He turned and looked at her. "You know what, just go Jordan. You are good at leaving." She began to go into the bathroom, but he grabbed her wrist.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
She turned and yanked her arm back. "It means what it means. Just go." She turned from him, and he grabbed her wrist again.
"This is the same shit you used to do when we were younger. You'd act one way and then turn around and do the opposite." He let go of her wrist and stormed over to the door.
"Are you kidding me right now! I did whatever you wanted when we were younger. I lost my virginity in the back of your fucking car!"
He turned and looked at her. A mix of shock and hurt on his face. He left without saying another word.
"Shit!" She yelled out as she stood there. God damn it why did she let Jordan get under her skin again!
Two days later and Angela was back to work. She had avoided Pierce since she came back but he was so worked up over his new case that she was sure that he didn't even notice. She hadn't reach out to Jordan either about the article and she was already trying to come up with an excuse for her boss. She would never be able to face Jordan again. She kept replaying their fight in her head. She was beyond embarrassed about her outburst.
A knock on her office door snapped her out of her thoughts as her boss Simon walked in. "You are amazing! I knew you'd pull through."
"I'm sorry, what?" Confusion filled her. He put a notepad on her desk. Her eyes got wide.
"He said you were the best interview he ever had." Simon had a huge grin on his face. He turned for the door. "I'm impressed. Can you have the column written by the end of the week?"
He was gone before Angela could even question him. She picked up the notepad and gasped when she saw that Jordan had written out his own interview questions and answered them all. There was over ten pages of questions. She quickly got up from her desk and walked out into the hall. She saw one of the receptionists from the front office walking by. Her name was Alex.
"Hey, did someone come by and drop this off with Simon?" She held up the note pad.
"Oh, you mean that super-hot guy Jordan. Uh, yeah. Girl you are so lucky that you got to interview him. How was his sex dungeon?"
"It wasn't a dungeon." Angela turned back to her office as Alex continued to ask questions. He had come all the way to the paper to drop off the questions? She was in shock. She got back to the office and closed the door. Her heart was racing. She sat back down and opened the pad as she flipped through it again. On the last page there was a note for her.
I owed you one, Angela.
She sat back in her chair and swallowed hard. She for once was truly speechless.
She went through the questions one at a time and made on outline for her article.
Why did you get into this lifestyle?
In our daily lives we must submit to societal ideas whether it's because of our careers or the roles we play in general.
We can engage in BDSM on our own terms. We make the rules. We set our limits and boundaries. I had an unconventional childhood and I felt powerless over my choices. As soon as I realized I could make my own rules and live life the way I wanted, everything else just fell into place. Even when submitting it can be liberating because it's truly on the terms you agree to. You trust your Dom to know the terms and to not break them.
Consent, communication and safety are key. As long as you are transparent with your partner then you both get what you want and need. This goes way further than just a sexual act. The bond between Dom and Sub far exceeds most traditional relationships. It's deeper and more connected.
So, you ask why I live this lifestyle, well it's because that's the true me. I don't sugar coat it or play it down. Either you take it or leave it.
Angela swallowed hard as she read his answers. This felt intimate and she wasn't expecting him to open his world up like this.
She began to type away as the article literally began to write itself. Minutes turned into hours and soon she was nearly done with her first draft.
It was late by the time Angela began her drive to her apartment, but something stirred inside of her and she found herself driving to Time Out. She told herself that she was going there to thank Jordan in person for saving her ass on the article but that wasn't entirely true. She couldn't stop thinking about him and the more she read over his questions, the more she began to obsess just like she did when she was younger.
It was already getting dark out as she pulled up to the club. The parking lot was even fuller than the last time she went there. She swallowed hard and quickly looked at herself in the rearview mirror. She was still in her work clothes that consisted of black slacks, heels and a white tunic top. It was business casual and didn't reveal any of her body underneath. She never did get comfortable with showing off her skin even though she had the type of figure that most women would die for. She was curvy and soft in all the right places but just like she did when she was younger, she hid her body with oversized clothes. She longed for the days when she could just through on a flannel jacket and be done with it. She pulled her hair from the bun she wore, and the red locks cascaded over her shoulders. She felt the anticipation rising in her stomach as she neared the doors. Maybe she should have called him first? Maybe he was in the middle of some act. Her heart began to race dangerously fast.
The idea of seeing him in a compromising position made her equal parts nervous and excited. A couple made their way outside half dressed. They looked at her as they passed by, and she lost all of her nerve. She couldn't do this. It was stupid of her to go there. She promptly turned around and made a bee line for her car.
"Red?" She heard his voice, and she stopped in her tracks. She turned slowly to see him walking across the parking lot. He had a bag in his hand, and he was completely dressed in jeans and t-shirt.
"Hey." She wanted to die, like right now would be a good time to die. Its not like she could say that she was in the neighborhood because he was on the other side of the city and located in an abandoned warehouse lot.
"What are you doing here?" He walked over and she tried not to drool at how amazing he looked. His long hair unruly as always and he just had that strut about him that made her knees weak.
"I was in the neighborhood." She lied as her face turned red. She was happy that it was dark enough not to show it.
"Really?" He closed in the distance.
"I actually just wanted to say thank you for dropping off the questions."
"Oh. Well, I just grabbed some dinner." He held up the bag of food. "Wanna join me?"
"Oh um. No, I should probably go." She fidgeted with her hands.
"You just got here. Come, you look hungry." He walked past her, and her eyes landed on his ass and what an ass it was. "Come on Red." He called out and she swallowed hard as she followed him. He didn't go through the main doors. He walked around the building to a back door.
Once inside she was shocked to see that it opened into a small apartment. The sound of music hummed softly through the well-insulated walls. This was where he lived.
"I hope you like Chinese food." He placed the bag on the small kitchen table and grabbed some paper plates. His apartment looked like your stereotypical bachelor pad. It was full of dark colors and furnished with just the necessities such as a couch, a tv on the wall and a small kitchen. Her mind went to what his bedroom would look like, and she flushed at the thought.
"Your place is nice." She tried to make small talk.
"It's affordable and convenient." He took a seat, and she did too. "Here take what you want."
Angela put some fried rice and chicken on her plate. The air between them got quiet and uncomfortable.
"Listen about the other day at Rayanne's."
"Why didn't you tell me that you were a virgin back then?" He cut her off. His voice serious and it made her swallow hard.
"Why did you assume that I wasn't?"
"I don't know."
"It's fine. Whatever. That was a long time ago." She felt so uncomfortable.
"It's really not." He looked up from his plate and stared at her. She was sure he could see into her soul. "My whole life now is based on communication and consent. I'm really fucking sorry."
She was actually touched by his apology. She didn't know how to respond. They both continued to eat.
"So how is the article coming along?" He finally spoke.
"It's good. It's um a lot of information."
"Was there anything you wanted to know that I left out?" The way he asked the question had her heart racing fast. Of course, she had more questions maybe not ones that would be ok for the article.
"No. You were pretty thorough."
"So back in Pennsylvania you said you were interested in this lifestyle?" He raised an eyebrow and she nearly choked on her food. He got up and opened the fridge. He handed her a beer. Her face was bright red.
"I mean um, yeah. It's cool and all." She had no idea what she was saying.
"So have you ever participated?"
"Oh um, yeah of course." She lied as she continued to eat.
"But not with your lawyer boyfriend?" He raised an eyebrow.
"I mean we like dabbled a bit." She hated that she couldn't stop lying to him.
"What sort of dabbling?" His interest was piqued. Her phone began to ring just in the nick of time. She looked at it and saw it was Pierce. She let it go to voice mail.
"Um, I should go. Its late." She stood up.
"I'm sure your boyfriend is looking for you." He stood up too. "I'm glad we cleared the air."
"Yeah, me too."
"Friends, right?"
"Of course, friends." She walked to the door and he followed her. "Thanks again for the food and for the article."
"Anytime Red. You're welcome here whenever you like."
"Cool thanks. I'll uh, see ya." She left and made a bee line for her car. What the hell was she thinking?! Her phone rang again, and she answered it now. "Hey."
"Hey yourself. I was worried. I left a bunch of messages."
"I got held up at work. I'm leaving now though."
"Wanna grab a bite to eat?"
"Actually, I'm just going to stay in tonight. I'm still really tired from my trip."
"Oh, ok. That's cool. Um, how about tomorrow night. There is a new Italian restaurant in Midtown."
"Sure, sounds great. We can meet up after work."
"Alright well get some sleep and I will see you tomorrow."
"Ok. Good night." She hung up and sighed heavily. She took one last look at the club before she left.
The next day went without a hitch and Angela was able to get her article off to the editor. Her mind kept drifting to Jordan. She couldn't help but think about his club and what he did there. Jealousy filled her when she thought about who Jordan was spending his time with. His apartment didn't look like he had many women in it but hell it was attached to a sex club so who knows! She needed to get her head on straight. Jordan was a thing of the past and she needed to keep him there.
Angela sat across from Pierce as he continued talking for what seemed like forever. He was going on and on about his case. He hadn't even asked her once how her trip went.
"So, I really think I have this one in the bag. You should have seen how impressed David was."
"It sounds amazing. You're doing a great job."
"Enough about me, how was your day? Did you finish your article?"
"Actually, I sent it off to the editor. I should have it done by the weekend."
"Holy shit is that, Richard?" Pierce cut her off as he looked across the restaurant. He stood up and waved one of his associates over and she sighed. It was like they couldn't go out without him running into someone or his phone ringing off the hook. "Babe, look it's Richard!"
"Oh nice. What a small world." She forced a smile. She stood to greet him.
"It's always a pleasure seeing you, Angela. How's Pierce treating you?"
"Great as always."
"Do you wanna join us?" Pierce asked as Angela fought the urge to roll her eyes.
"I'm waiting on a new client." Richard smiled. "Actually, there he is." He waved his hand as Angela turned and watched Jordan walk over. Her eyes got wide.
Angela quickly looked away. What the hell!
"Richard sorry I am late. I got held up." Jordan walked over and Angela couldn't even look at him as her heart raced.
"That's quite alright. I was just catching up with one of my associates, Pierce. This is Jordan."
"Nice to meet you." Pierce shook hands with Jordan. "This is my girlfriend, Angela."
She turned now and looked at Jordan. Now would be the perfect time to mention she already knew him but the next words that came out of her mouth surprised her.
"Nice to meet you, Jordan."
Jordan had an amused looked on his face. She hated that he looked so damn sexy in a suit. His long hair pulled back.
"Angela, it's a pleasure."
"Please come join us for a drink." Pierce called the waiter over for a few more chairs. Angela wanted to die.
"Jordan has a new business in the city." Richard grinned.
"Well, you are in good hands." Pierce added.
"Richard seems incredibly capable." Jordan glanced at Angela as she downed her wine.
"So, are you new to the area Jordan?" Pierce continued with his questions and Angela could barely breathe. She was on the verge of hyperventilating.
"I am actually. I moved here a few months ago. I'm originally from Pennsylvania."
"Really? Isn't that where you're from babe?" Pierce grinned.
"Pennsylvania is a big place." She knew she should just say that she knew Jordan as a child and yet she couldn't.
"What part of Pennsylvania?" Jordan asked and she looked at him now. He looked like he was enjoying this.
"Just a small town. I'm actually going to use the ladies room. Please excuse me." She needed to get away and fast.
She got to the bathroom, and she leaned on the sink as she breathed heavy. She needed to get a grip. She needed to just walk out there and tell Pierce that she knew Jordan. She needed to just get it out in the open once and for all. She stepped out of the bathroom and gasped because there he was, Jordan.
"Everything ok?"
"Yeah of course. It's a small world huh?" Her heart was racing dangerously fast.
"Why are you pretending like you don't know me in front of your boyfriend?"
"I'm not pretending. It just caught me off guard. I am going to tell him." She laughed nervously. "Why are you getting a lawyer?"
"Every business owner needs one. Am I like your dirty little secret now?" He smirked.
"I'm not hiding the fact that I know you. Like I said, it caught me off guard seeing you."
"I don't mind if he doesn't know." He stepped closer to her and her back hit into the wall. He leaned one hand against the wall, next to her head. "Do you want something from me, Red?"
"Hmm?"
"I'm just saying if you are feeling bored then I might be able to help." He licked his lips.
"Oh, ok."
"Why don't you come by my club tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow." She swallowed hard.
"Yeah. We can… talk."
"I get off at five." She couldn't believe the words coming out of her mouth. It was as if they had a mind of their own.
"Five it is." He stood back and then went into the bathroom. She could barely breathe. What the hell had she just agreed to?!
She got back to the table and Richard was now at his own table across the restaurant.
"I ordered you the eggplant parm." Pierce was clueless to what just took place.
"Nice." She smiled nervously. Her eyes darted over to Jordan who was now in a deep conversation with Richard.
"My parents are going to be in town this weekend. I thought it would be nice if we do something with them." Pierce snapped her out of her thoughts.
"You want me to meet your parents?" Her eyes got wide.
"Well yeah. Is that, ok?"
"Sure. Yeah, that's um, great."
"Cool." He smiled.
"Cool."
