~This is my AU dont like dont read~
A normal day. Finally a normal day. Edd thought. As much as he liked to go on his Edd-ventures and pick fun at Tom, Matt, and Tord he believed he would be done with going out for a while. As appealing as it was for him to go out and do something, the only thing he could think about when he was in the front lawn of his rebuilt house was Tord trying to kill them all with a giant robot. Tord did come back however and he did apologize but Tom was gonna be a hassle to deal with. The eyeless brunette was furious that they let Tord back in the house and was always on edge, thinking Tord was going to do something. He constantly threw insults at both the Norwegian and their ginger housemate. It was, after-all, Matt´s fault the Norwegian was back, Matt had forgiven him and brought him back begging for Edd to let him stay and Edd gave in. Matt did have a hard time coping with the insults and still cried about every insult thrown. As much as Edd wanted to make Tom stop he could not. Tom didn't listen to ANYTHING Edd had to say and was always mad when Edd told him to stop, usually ending with Tom yelling incoherent swears and storming out the house only to come back very drunk. It was the middle of the night and Edd didn't really know why he woke up or what had triggered these thoughts but he decided to drift back into a dreamless sleep, not knowing what would happen the very next day.
-Time Skip-
It was 4am when Matt woke up. Honestly, he was a bit discombobulated and usually woke up two hours later. The ginger male got out of bed and put on his bunny slippers deciding not to go back to sleep. Truthfully, he knew why he couldn't sleep and why he woke up so early. He had frequent nightmares about many things, from Tom yelling at him about how he was such a mess up to being shunned out of the house by Tom for bringing Tord back. Over time he was beginning to fear Tom, he would never tell Tom that, but it was true. Any time Tom yelled at Matt, Tord was miraculously there to comfort him. He was honestly thankful for that. He knew Tom had always disliked him with a passion and the ginger could tolerate it, but now Tom hated him. Matt had never really been hated by to many people but those were people he didn't care about or know very well but he knew Tom and he really did care about the eyeless male. The thought of Tom hating him brought tears to the ginger´s eyes. Quickly snuffing out that feeling and wiping his eyes he decided to get ready for the day, not bothering to go back to bed. Matt did up his hair and put in his usual clothes, jeans, white and black sneakers, a white tank-top, and his purple hoodie that he had gotten for Christmas. Matt usually had his lime green overcoat over his hoodie but left it off wandering out of his room and into the hallway of the house. He decided to make coffee, he usually despised the brown liquid that both Tord and Tom loved but it helped him to stay awake when he needed or wanted to. He chose to look at old texts from him mother while the coffee was brewing, he longed to text her and had multiple times with no results, his mother had left him around the age of 9 leaving him with his grandmother. He never really understood why she left but he remembered her last words to him vividly, "I love you Mathew but I must go. Be good to your grandmother now, don't cause her any trouble. Find us when you're older, me and your father will be waiting for you." He had no clue what she meant by "find" them, they didn't even give him a clue to where they might have gone. The memory played in his head for about a lifetime bringing tears to his eyes, he got up to make himself some of the brown, energizing liquid hoping it would distract him from the memory that stuck with him but he knew he couldn't avoid it forever. He sat at the table and burst into tears, he made sure to stay as quiet as he could, not wanting to wake the others. Matt was the usually bubbly friend with no real problems, he only cried when he was scared or offended around his friends and he planned to make it stay that way. Until he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to look at the Norwegian male who had grabbed his shoulder, giving him a concerned look.
"Matt? Are you alright?" the Norwegian asked, his voice heavy with concern. He looked over Matt's shoulder to peer into his face trying to work out his expression of grief. The Norwegian tried to understand what had made the ginger cry. Tom was not in the room, or even awake in that matter and nothing really ever made the ginger cry. Tord usually gave Matt a hug and spoke to him in a soft comforting way but the Norwegian had a feeling that would not work this time.
"O-Oh! Yea! Im f-fine. Its r-really nothing Todd!" Matt wiped his tears swiftly and gave a smile. "I didn't wake you up did I? Im sorry if I did-" Matt did look apologetic, and he looked at Tord with his bright blue eyes. Tord knew one of his blue eyes was only a colored contact, he knew Matt had Heterochromia. One eye was a bright, ice blue color but the other was a beautiful emerald green. Tord thought that Matt's eyes made him look good, even attractive, but Matt himself hated them. He wore one contact to cover his emerald green eye, Matt often said his Heterochromia made him look "Odd" and "Too different". Edd liked his Heterochromia and Tom didn't have too much of a problem with it, despite his constant insults about it. Tord gave Matt a searching, forlorn look.
"No. You didn't wake me up Mathew. I need to know why you are crying. I cannot help you if you won't tell me what's wrong." Tord
