Wile E Coyote's feelings for his co-star were… complicated. As much as he enjoyed shooting scenes for their cartoons, he only saw the road runner as a co-worker and nothing more. Just a coworker who would frequently invite him for dinner and he couldn't say no. A co worker who he shared a trailer with because they're an iconic duo. A co worker he can't help but falling in love with-

Nope. Just a coworker.

Wile E was out having sushi with his co-worker again. His eyes were focused on the conveyor belt. He was fascinated that there were machines made for transporting food. As a genius, he was in awe of it.

He was following a piece of salmon sushi that would soon be picked up by the Road Runner. Now his eyes were on the Road Runner, who was happily on his 8th plate of sushi. When they were not filming, he and Wile E were hanging out and being the best of friends. Wile E enjoyed these moments. Road Runner always looked so cheerful and it made him smile.

Oh, he's smiling right now.

"Meep Meep?" were the words that brought Wile E back to reality.

"Oh uh. I wasn't looking at anything" Wile E says. It's weird. The only thing Road Runner says is "Meep Meep '' yet he could understand him perfectly. In fact everyone could.

"Meep meep" Road Runner said.

"No I'm not bored" Wile E says. "I'm just…fascinated. This place is very high tech. I mean look at these conveyor belts. And they have a tally for how many plates you finish and give you a prize if you get enough. What will they think of next?"

"Meep Meep" Road Runner says. Wile E spits out his sake.

"THEY DO?!"

Now let's focus on Road Runner. He is a man of a few words which made him a perfect co-star to Wile E. Road Runner saw Wile E as his best friend. He likes spending time with Wile E, listening to him ramble about Quantum Physics or whatever genius thing he could come up with. Just listening to Wile E talk about the conveyor belt made him smile. He would giggle but he felt like Wile E would think he's insulting him when that was not true. Wile E was passionate about stuff like this and all he wanted was to see the coyote happy.

Unlike Wile E, Road Runner was able to admit he had feelings for his co-star. Problem was, how and when would he be able to tell him? Would Wile E think he's weird? Would he be turned down? Or ridiculed? Or worse…..WOULD HE LOSE HIS BEST FRIEND?!

The thoughts started to run through Road Runner's head. So much that Wile E noticed right away.

"Is everything alright?" Wile E asked.

"MEEP MEEP!" Road Runner suddenly shouted. He shouted it loud enough that the whole restaurant went silent. Some people looked over to them.

"Hey it's okay" Wile E says. "No need to scream"

After that fiasco, Wile E and Road Runner go back to their trailer for the night. Wile E starts channel surfing while Road Runner does his nightly skincare routine. What? He's gotta look his best.

"Ooo… a movie marathon" Wile E says. "And they're playing Two Pigs In A Blanket. Which has me as the Gardener"

Wile E faces the camera and winks. Road Runner comes in and sits next to Wile E on the couch. Wile E had his arm behind Road Runner as they watched the movie. This was nice. It was just two stars relaxing after a long day. It's almost like what happened at the sushi place didn't happen.

Road Runner yawned as he was getting tired. Almost as if it was instinct, he leaned his head onto Wile E's shoulder. This caught Wile E by surprise. He didn't know what to do and he tried to slightly push him off but Road Runner didn't budge.

It was now Wile E's turn to have thoughts rush through his head. He wasn't ready to admit his feelings, even if now would be the perfect opportunity.

Road Runner suddenly bolts awake, realizing what he's done. He turns to Wile E and gives him a series of apologetic meep meeps.

"No, you don't need to apologize for anything" Wile E says. "It's been a long day for the both of us and I know you need your rest. I wasn't opposed to it at all" that was a lie as Wile E was trying to push him away earlier.

"Meep Meep?" Road Runner asks.

"You're my friend Road Runner. I just want what's best for you" Wile E says. Road Runner now had a slight orange tint on his beak.

With their faces now being inches from each other, Wile E decided "screw it". This might be the only time he can confront his feelings for his co-star. And he realized now it was romantic feelings.

Wile E leans in and gives Road Runner a peck on the beak. This makes Road Runner's red tint now full on red and even Wile E got a red face.

"S-sorry" Wile E said. "I don't know what came over me. I was in the moment and-"

"Meep Meep" Road Runner says. Wile E's ears perk up.

"You… know how I feel? " Wile E said. "And you feel the same way? Well I'm glad that's off my chest"

Road Runner leans in for another peck. Wile E returns the favor and they start like that until they need to pull apart for air.

The movie has since ended but the two of them were still on the couch red in the face. Wile E was covering his face with his hand. He holds up a sign that says "Does this mean we're like…..a thing?"

Road Runner replies by giving him a kiss and holding up a sign that says "I guess we are"

The two spent the rest of the night watching another movie before going to bed. Tomorrow, it's back to the studio but not as best friends, or co-stars, but boyfriends.
