"Cat! Cat!" Cat Noir jumped out of bed, heart racing. It was the middle of the night and Marinette had burst into the cabin, holding her cat, Cinders, in her arms. "Pocket Elf says there's to be a strong wind! We must take shelter in the cave!" Cat shook off his sleepiness like a warm blanket. His Princess was right, he could hear the winds howling around the cabin. "Right, two seconds, love!" Cat grabbed the bundle of firewood that he kept for emergencies, and the ration of food. "Where's your Pocket Elf?" "Don't worry about me! Get us to shelter!" Pocket Elf's voice hissed from Marinette's pocket.

The rain lashed at their faces, and Cat was scared he'd lose Marinette's hand in the inky blackness. Thank goodness for his night vision, as he led them through the trees.

The cave stood soild, a place they sheltered in on nights like this. Cat meowed in surprise then pain as a small stick came hurtling through the air, hitting him on the cheek. The pain made him feel a little dizzy, but he couldn't think about that now. Marinette found the latern that was at the cave's entrance, and Cat leant down to help her, when he noticed her trembling fingers. The match caught, hissing and bubbling to life and Cat carefully placed the candle inside. "Kitty, your hurt!" Marinette clutched at his arm, with her free one. "There's a stream in the middle of the cave, my dear," Pocket Elf said. "Leave Cinders with me, will be alright."

Cinders agreed, leaping down gracefully from Marinette's arms. Marinette gently set the Pocket Elf upon her back, and turned to Cat.

Pocket Elf watched them leave, admiring the cave walls. She held her own latern upon the cat's back. A bluish night illumatied from the walls, and water dripped from the ceiling echoing in her ears. In this light, Cinders look more white then gray, giving the young creature a ghostly appearance.

Up ahead, Cat and Marinette made it to the stream. Cat could feel something warm and wet trickling down his cheek and he asked Marinette to take a look. "Your bleeding," she said. "Sit down here, and I'll take care of you." Her sweet melodic voice took on more of authritve tone, and even though his cheek stung, Cat smiled into the inky blackness. "That's my Princess. Always helping others." "You wouldn't let me wear the Ladybug Miraculous otherwise," he heard her grin and felt a soft wet cloth being held to his cheek. Ah, now that felt better. "I had a dream about him about Hawkmoth just before you came in, love," Cat lowered his voice as he tossed a pebble into the water. "What is it about?" Marinette asked, rummaging her pack. "Before you tell me, this will sting a little." Cat knew this was coming but he tried not to think about it as a stinging sensation touched his cheek and he hissed softly.

"He was with my mother and I was there too. I was facing them, as Adrien. Father was holding out his hand to me. "Come. Join us, son. With your powers of destruction and the power of the Miraculous we'll be unstoppable." Cat shivered as he repeated the words from his dream. "I felt a rage building up inside me. Evil is no good for this world. I told him no then called for my Cataylsm." Cat closed his eyes, seeing the dream in his mind. Cat stood firm his left hand holding a deadly black ball of destruction, staring into his father's eyes. "The wind started to blow, and Father started to change. Gone was the business suit he always wore, replaced by a suit of purple and black with a mask. Just as I ran towards them, they disappeared and the dream ended."

The rushing of the stream was loud in Cat's ears, and he wanted to get away. "Let's go further up the bank," Marinette said. "I taped up your cheek for now."

It was warmer and drier as Cat led Marinette into a small alcove and he pulled her into his lap. "Perfect," he breathed. "I'm sorry about your dream, Cat. It must have been so real."

Cat nodded, the tears wanting to trickle down his cheeks but he held them back. "Make me forget, Princess. Make me forget the ghost of my past. But let me do something first. Claws In."

The leather left them, and Adrien threw off his shirt, pulling his Princess closer. Her tounge was a anchor, as it entered his mouth and Adrien soon felt wrapped up in a warm blanket of love. He liked Marinette's nails skimming down his arms, his chest, expolring. He liked the sounds she made, little gasps and squeals when he gave her little nips and kisses. She wove her hands through his hair, then looked into his eyes. "Even if there are ghosts around, we'll face them together, Adrien. I love you."

"Thank you, love," Adrien breathed as cuddled her close. "Though they'll never touch you, if I can help it." Marinette gave a soft giggle. "they'll have to catch me first."

"Cat? Marinette?" they two looked up as their heard Pocket Elf calling their name. "The coast must be clear now. Here, I'll help you up." After Marinette was on her feet, Adrien called for his transformation.

When they reached the entrance of the cave, they stopped. The sun was just rising, the sky streaked in a baby pink, the pearly gray clouds hanging low. Water dripped into tiny pools and Cat caught a glance of the stream, glinting in the sunlight.

This was his home, and he would protect it, just like he would protect all the creatures of the forest. That's why the man in the long flowing robe had given him the box, as Adrien had saved him from falling into the fast moving stream.

"Well, shall we go home, you two?" the Pocket Elf asked, watching their faces. "Yes," Cat said. "Let's go home."
