We headed toward the TARDIS. Both of us stepped inside. The doctor closed the doors. It's bigger on the inside. I didn't say anything. I sat down on a chair. He sat down beside me. "Remember yesterday?" He said to me. "Yeah." "It's about that." I didn't know what he was talking about. I looked quickly at him then I looked away. He started explaining everything. I was silent. He eventually paused. I could tell he was nervous. I didn't say anything.
"I couldn't have that happened to you, again," He said, looking at me. "I know what you're thinking. I know I lied to you but I wanted to tell you, more than anything." I didn't move. "Who else? Who else knows?" I asked. "Only me & two people," He said nervously. "Which two people?" I said. He looked away. "Madelyn & Bella," The doctor said quickly. I wanted to look at him but didn't.
"How long?" "Since the beginning." He began. I didn't speak a word. "I'm surprised you're taking this calmly. To be honest, I thought you wouldn't." 'I would never lie to you. You have my word.' 'He trusts you more than anything. He might make a few wrong choices, but he doesn't have any control. He will do anything he can to protect you.'
"Why would you lie to me?" I said, "I trusted you!" "I wanted to tell you. I really did. I didn't know how you would react! You always really had a great time this past 5 months. I never wanted to ruin that," He sighed, "You & Bella always had a great friendship. Both of you got along great, didn't have to worry about anything. Safe. That's a life I knew I could never have. I was constantly on the run & never staying in one place. I was saving people's lives, protecting planets from destruction. I'm doing the same thing to you. When I...did that, I knew I had to stay here & doing what I had to do. I never..."
"You never had to do that! You said you would never lie!" I said. He didn't respond. There was a moments silence before he spoke. I didn't care what he said. It was a very bad move. I looked at the floor. I knew this was wrong but there was a part of me that knew what he did was him trying to protect me, or right in other words.
I felt his hand rest on my arm. "Look, I'm trying to protect you," He said. "From what?" I said, a little louder than usual. "I lost so many companions over the years. I don't want to lose you," He answered. "Maybe you shouldn't have done it," I said coldly. I just couldn't take it anymore. I got up and headed out the TARDIS. "Oswin, Oswin. Oswin," The doctor called out. I opened the doors. I never shouted at him. I didn't know what I would do but the only thing I knew was that I didn't like him and nothing will ever change that.
