Sofia the First Ship Appreciation Week 2022
Summary: Aqua's Shipping Week 2022 Prompts
Disclaimer: I don't own StF. Any OCs you see in here belong to me except Nana and Tanya, who belong to MarionetteJ2X.
A/N: Violet and Baileywick this time! I always loved their relationship, especially with how similar I feel they are to Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn (though less platonic, lol). This will take place not long after these two first admitted their feelings to each other. 😊 Prepare for sweetness!
Chapter 3: Handholding (Viowick)
"Violet."
Violet turned after taking off her stewardess apron and hanging it up in a storage room, smiling as she tugged her braid over her shoulder. "Hi, Mr.—erm… Hi, Baileywick." She still slipped up sometimes, calling her old boss by his title, though he'd been quite patient anyway. She had to wonder if that sort of thing had happened with Sofia and Cedric. "I'm sorry it took a little longer than normal. Marcie found a lizard and nearly burned down the bloomin' castle. I had to find some smellin' salts after she fainted."
Baileywick chuckled as he approached her, folding his arms. "All that over a lizard?"
The brunette laughed and sighed. "Did I forget to mention she'd also had a run-in with a garter snake, a field mouse, and a temperamental stray cat on the way to work this mornin'? Seems like nature just isn't kind to dear Marcie."
"Perhaps Princess Sofia needs to have a talk with her 'woodland creatures,' as Cedric used to call them." As they walked, he noticed that Violet's hands were by her side. She had nice hands, even though she worked all the time, and they could become just as calloused as his. They were strong yet gentle, coarse in some places yet soft in others. Curiosity got the better of him, and he unfolded his arms, his left hand reaching down to take her right one. He smiled to himself even as she gasped quietly. Yes, just as he'd imagined… Warm, strong, yet gentle to the touch.
"Baileywick…"
The silver-haired man blushed ever so lightly, clearing his throat. "I, um… I heard from my brother that…handholding is a nice part of courtship…"
Amused and also endeared by his tender words, she giggled lightly, resting her head against his arm as they walked. "Yes, and… I rather like this too." She threaded her fingers through his, caressing his forefinger with her own as she did. "You've got nice hands, you know…" She could have kicked herself. What kind of simplistic nonsense was that?
"As do you," the former steward returned, chuckling. "I was just thinking about that, actually…" He lifted her hand to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss there, smiling as she blushed a little bit. "Care for a walk, Violet?"
She nodded. "I'd love to, Baileywick."
