Disclaimer: I don't own StF. Any OCs you see in here belong to me except Nana and Tanya, who belong to MarionetteJ2X.

A/N: My dear Amber and Desmond finally get a little spotlight. I do miss writing for them like I used to, so this is a nice time to give a little light to them again. Like the other stories, it's not going to be very long, but it'll be sweet regardless. Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 6: Anniversary (Desamber)

Two years of marriage had come and gone surprisingly fast for Desmond and Amber. Their little girl, Alamea, would be a year old in just a few days, and it was now Wassailia, their own anniversary. Of course, that meant spending time with their friends and family, which they'd already done, but they had set aside some special time just for themselves.

While Miranda and Roland watched their granddaughter, Desmond pulled Amber away from the hustle and bustle of the seasonal festivities to have some alone time with his wife.

Under the starry sky of the Wassailia evening, Desmond pulled Amber close to him, cradling her like his most precious treasure as he slowly initiated a dance with her, swaying in soft rhythm to a tune only they could hear. Perhaps the wind pressing the limbs against the trees kept the percussion low and steady, or maybe the night owl hummed a mysterious but beautiful harmony.

"Never in all our years at Royal Prep would I have taken you for such a romantic," Amber teased as she looked up at her husband, a loving smile on her face, her eyes soft as she gazed at him endearingly. "I like being pleasantly surprised."

"Maybe I can enhance that then." He still held onto her with his left arm while he reached into his jacket pocket with his right hand, withdrawing a small box. He handed it to the blonde princess, who peered at it curiously. "I saved this specifically for our anniversary." He pressed the box into her hands, watching as she carefully opened it.

"Oh, Desmond…" She laughed in delight as she withdrew a cold necklace, a diamond encrusted pattern of the constellation Unicornicus dangling from the chain, her star Amberina Major glimmering with a mix of a diamond, tanzanite, and light tourmaline blend. "This is… How did you even…?"

He chuckled, smiling shyly. "It helps to have magical people as in-laws sometimes… Sofia took my idea and shared it with Cedric and Calista, and they were able to design this with a bit of magic and precious stones."

"So, now I know who I need to go to when I want a new tiara." She laughed, carefully observing her gift. She then looked back at Desmond. "Will you put it on for me?"

"Sure, Amber." He retrieved the necklace, opening the clasp n the back. He used one hand to delicately brush her hair over her shoulder, and then he fastened it into place against her neck. After moving her hair back over her shoulders, he pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Happy anniversary, Amber."

She looked down at the necklace, tracing it with a loving fondness, before turning to her husband, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Happy anniversary, Desmond." With little else to say, she kissed him, embracing the darkness and the playful stars above.
