Bruce and Princess Zelda seek refuge to escape the the battles they endured with the monsters roaming in this planet. Their ship blew up after a skirmish with the Separatist droids and the Dark Lords.
Sighting the monsters below and listening to their screeches has annoyed Zelda a little. "I doubt the monsters will never bother us.", Zelda said. As she lowers her gaze, she sees Bruce meditating silently with his lightsaber floating. "Your path seems to mirror your mother's.".
Bruce abruptly stops his meditation. He turns to Zelda. "You've studied my mom.", Bruce remarked.
"No, I actually met her... one time before... her death. I was little. I still remember the advice she gave me: stay strong and never give up.", Zelda said. "You're so much like your mother: strong and resolute. You've dedicated yourself to study and master the Force while achieving your long journey to be a Jedi Knight. Your commitment to the training necessary to fulfil your goal is really quit admirable, though the trauma is still there: not able to save them, I sympathise greatly. You are different from the other Jedi Knights. I doubt they would resist allowing their tragedies to cause them to embrace the Great Darkness. I can see in you that you are the Chosen One, Bruce Skywalker.".
Bruce moves near her.
"What if... one day... you and your parents were never captured by the Dark Lords, your parents never killed, you had an easier life with no burden to carry... I wonder, then... would you have chosen a different path?"
"Everything would change if my parents didn't die."
The present Zelda who watched this memory was scared by kid Bruce Wayne. She turned to look at him. "Bruce.", she said in joy. She then surveyed her surroundings. "What? Where is-?".
"They're trapped.", Bruce cut Zelda off.
"What? What have you done with them?", Zelda wanted to know.
"It was not me. Your fault of bringing them here has upset the mind of Bruce Skywalker. They have been trapped in a prison of this mind's making.", Bruce responded.
"Oh, no.", Zelda perceives her mistake. She should not have brought Superman, Wonder Woman, Zatanna and Nightwing in Skywalker's mind. She did not foresee the mind would be sensitive toward guests entering it. "What have I done?".
"You can save them...", Bruce assured her. He turns away. "...by fixing my mind.".
"What happened to your mind, Bruce?"
A moment of pause until Bruce turned. "My mind is broken.", he divulged.
"How did it happen?", Zelda asked worryingly.
"Something that has made me feel relieved.", kid Bruce said. "I casted a spell on myself each year suppressing my connection to the Force.".
"You did what?!", Zelda exclaimed in shock.
"Can you blame me for everything that's happened between us?", kid Bruce said. He shows Zelda a memory when they had an argument and subsequently had a fallout.
Zelda looks down in pity. "We can't change the past, as it can destroy the entire timeline, but we can make up for our mistakes.", Zelda said.
Bruce looks at a memory of an older Bruce Skywalker going through various training around the Multiverse. He was taught many things that helped him to become one of the most formidable fighters in the Multiverse. It's also a path that would lead him to become something different.
Zelda is watching that same memory. "All the training I remembered.", she said. She stands close to kid Bruce. "I was there in every place you went. Never stopped following you even though I never thought about having kids when kept changing places to live. You didn't either. But it happened right after I finally mastered the powers of the Force. I became pregnant". Kid Bruce and Queen Zelda see the memory of young Zelda giving birth to their first child. "And we had a daughter. It was the happiest time we had together. Our first daughter. We named her Wanda Skywalker. Then many, many years later we had another daughter we named Aelita Skywalker.".
"What if it was all for a catastrophe?", Bruce asked.
"You can't mean that. Look at the things we accomplished. Together with our children, your Padawan, myself and the Republic, we rarely lost any battle against the Separatists or other enemies.", Zelda said.
"I'm talking about you, Zelda, your maternity and wifehood instincts.", Bruce said.
Zelda instantly perceived what Bruce is alluding to. Prior to readying to speak, she feels a presence behind her. She turned to discover a dark figure dressed in robes. He looks like the same individual that murdered Bruce's parents. "The Dark Lord?", Zelda is shocked. The figure draws uses his dark mist to shape it into a weapon that is able to shoot energy blasts. The figure fired red energy blasts at them. Zelda intends to use the Force. Her method of protection did not work because Zelda cannot use the Force, shocking Zelda. She took Bruce's hand and dragged her away.
While running, the blast almost reached Zelda's ears, arms and legs. Before the last blast would hit her, Zelda jumped with Bruce to one memory resulting in them landing in a memory of a battle between the Justice League and the Secret Society. They accidentally landed in a spot where the past versions of Superman and Giganta fight. As they battled, Zelda pulled Bruce away from Superman falling over them. Backing away, they saw Superman rising and flying to continue fighting Giganta. This memory of Superman hasn't seen them as if they are never there, which doesn't surprise Zelda.
"Look out!", kid Bruce shouted.
Zelda turned. A red blast. She moves away dodging the blast. The dark figure chases her. Zelda moves out of this memory, returning to the Forcecaves. Afterward, she ran with Bruce holding in her arms. She tried to use the memories to get farther away from the Dark Lord. The result isn't what she expected. "That Dark Lord is persistent.", Zelda said. Zelda's breathless runs came to an end. The Dark Lord is running toward her and Bruce.
Bruce gasps, and pulls away from Zelda's arms.
"Bruce!", Zelda cried out. Bruce jumps to a memory. She follows Bruce through that memory.
Inside this memory to follow Bruce, she ends up in a room in darkness. She saw Bruce, but there is other people. A woman and a man with bleached skin. She recognised that woman. "Ahsoka?", Zelda gasped. Bruce is also watching, watching the white-skinned man who is the Joker beating down his sister. Bruce has a horror expression. Zelda covered the boy's eyes. "Don't watch.". Bruce and Zelda are unfortunate to listen to the clown's menacing laugh as he hits Ahsoka multiple times. "Don't watch, don't listen.".
A Dark Lord appeared, and snatched kid Bruce from Zelda's hands. Zelda didn't let go as he grasps Bruce's arm. The Dark Lord growls.
"You are not taking that boy.", Zelda said. She is close to the dark figure. Zelda thrusts her foot at the Dark Lord's abdomen. Her foot impaled his abdomen which astounded Zelda. Zelda pulls her foot out. She shoves the Dark Lord away, and catches Bruce. With Bruce in her arms, she flees this memory.
Again they returned to the Forcecaves. "Please don't run off like that.", Zelda said. An energy blast suddenly pierced her arm. Zelda collapses to one knee. She puts a hand over the wound.
"Zelda!", kid Bruce cried. He turns, the Dark Lord has finally reached them. His body instantly froze. He feels Zelda's arms wrapping his body.
"Do not fear him, Bruce.", Zelda advised. She and Bruce back away from the Dark Figure. "You have defeated many Dark Lords protecting me. Don't be afraid. He is but a pawn wearing a mask to scare little boys.".
Once the Dark Lord heard Zelda, he starts to unmask himself.
"Bruce?", Zelda exclaimed in shock. The Dark Lord's identity is the older Bruce Skywalker.
A/N: I thought about adding dialogues after Zelda finds out the memory of the Dark Lord that killed Bruce's parents, but decided not to. This story is supposed to focus on Batman's other family. If I had added the dialogues, it foreshadows my ideas for future stories.
