Demon World

The second chapter is already written and ready to go.

Far outside the borders of Equestria, further, than anyone had ever gone before, lay a thick cloud of mist that guarded a magical kingdom called Shadow-Hall, a world of demons, human creatures that possessed wings, pointed ears and powerful magic! Now the demons never interacted with any creature of Equestria since their King forbid it thousands of years ago! Since then, the world has been practically invisible to the outside world!

At first glance, the world looks horrifying to those who have never seen it, but upon closer inspection, the surrounding areas were very beautiful. At night the grass glowed a luminescence blue colour with fireflies glowing and the moon full in the sky. The royal palace was made of black stone covered in green vines and moss. The forest surrounding the palace was scary, yet beautiful!

The sound of clashing metal could be heard in the quiet as two young demons were busy sparring in the courtyard. One of them, a male that stood 6 ft. tall, had short orange and red tipped hair, magenta coloured eyes, tan skin, was muscular around the arms and legs, had pointed ears and blood-coloured wings, grinned as he blocked the blow with one of his double-bladed axes that were currently lit on fire, the inner blade was black while the outer blade was red. "Your move, sis."

The female was of average height with lavender-coloured hair that reached her lower back and was tied in a braid down her back, she had magenta-coloured eyes like her brother, she had a curvaceous, yet muscularly toned body, and tanned coloured skin. The woman had large, bat-like wings that were coloured purple with her pointed ears to match her demon look. She swung her black spear that had slightly curved blades, a spearhead and green vines wrapped around the middle, twirling it like an expert before lunging for her brother with a battle cry!

He met her halfway, swinging his axes and she blocked the blow with her spear, spinning around and giving him a firm kick in the back. He grunted and spun around, swiping at his sister, who giggled and swung her spear, leaping over him using her purple wings and appearing behind him. "Over here." she taunted; wings spread wide!

Her brother spun around to face her and both lunged for the other, their weapons meeting with a clash of metal as sparks flew from the impact! Both jumped back and the male swung his short axes at the female, who ducked and swung her leg out, sweeping his feet out from beneath him and sending him to the ground on his back. His weapons slid from his fingers and before he could attempt to reach them, the female held the bladed end of her spear at his throat. "Okay, I yield!" the male surrendered his hands up in a gesture of surrender.

The female smiled and retracted her spear, holding out a hand to help her brother up to his feet. "Good match, brother." she praised as he retrieved his axes. "You too." he directed the praise to his sister, who giggled. She slid her spear into a sheath attached to her back between her wings as her brother slid his two short, double-bladed axes into their sheaths on his back, the flames on the blades dying out with a hiss!

The pair began to walk inside the palace, their wings folded tightly against their backs as they headed down a long hallway decorated with many portraits depicting their father. Their father was a very powerful demon, he was able to manipulate shadows and control them to do what he wished. Also, he could turn bad thoughts into better ones. He was, the king of Shadow-Hall, which made the twins the heirs to the throne when their time came.

As the twins rounded a corner, they saw one of their father's council-men, a man with black hair, grey eyes and black coloured wings, whose name was Marcus, speaking with a guard dressed in silver armour with a badge on his left breast plate, signifying that he was the captain of the royal guards. They were speaking in hushed tones when Marcus spotted the twins heading their way. He and the guard promptly stopped talking upon their arrival and both dipped their heads in respect to the Prince and Princess. "Greetings, your highnesses," Marcus spoke gently.

The guard captain had shoulder-length white hair, pointed ears like everyone else and his sword were strapped to his belt. His name was Raziel, or Raz for short and he wasn't just the captain of the guards, he was also Firo and Aydia's best friend since childhood. His eyes however, were clouded over, showing that he was blind and had been since birth, but his other senses were heightened and he was incredibly skilled both as a warrior and captain of the guards. Just because he was blind did not mean he was helpless. He wasn't the captain due to his looks! He knew his way around the kingdom like the back of his hand.

"Marcus, Raziel." the twins greeted the two of them.

"May we ask what you two were speaking about before we appeared?" his sister questioned gently.

"My apologies, your highness, we were speaking about the meeting in regards to the ball with the King and Queen of Hill-Haven in two days," Raziel explained.

Hill-Haven was a neighbouring kingdom of angels ruled by a King and Queen. King Tabris and Queen Sybil were their names, and they had a guard captain named Jeal, who had black hair and blue eyes. The two kingdoms co-existed in harmony and every fifth month, The King and Queen would arrive in Shadow-Hall for a celebrational ball to celebrate their allegiance. Now the ball was happening in two days and everyone was excited about it.

"Speaking of which, your father wishes to speak to you both in the throne room," Marcus added, both twins groaning, as they knew what their father wished to speak to them about and headed off down the hall after waving goodbye to Raziel and Marcus.

The twins walked down a few corridors, making some turns before arriving at a pair of large, wooden doors with beautiful carvings of previous demons in battle. Pushing open the left door, both twins entered a large, spacious room with black stone pillars lining the walkway that led up to a black throne carved from marble, a tapestry hung behind the throne with the royal seal, and two swords crossed together to make an X with demon wings spread wide behind the swords. A figure was seated on the throne, a man that, when standing, stood 6 foot 1, he had chin-length silver hair, bright green eyes, his skin was tanned and his body was lean and muscular. He had a pair of pointed ears like every other demon in this world and large black bat-like wings were folded tightly behind him that were strong and durable.

A sword with a black blade and the hilt shaped like a pair of demon wings with a blue gem stuck to the bottom was secured around his waist, tucked in a sheath if he ever needed it. His sword was named Veilios. He wore skin-tight armour that is impenetrable due to the special material used with a blood-red cape to finish the look. He straightened in his seat when he saw the twins walking towards him and came to a halt at the bottom of the stairs that led up to the throne. Both of them bowed their heads in respect to their king and father.

"Who won the sparring contest this time?" his voice was regal, yet gentle as his children lifted their heads. "I won, father." the female twin proclaimed, lifting her right hand in the air with a look of pride. The king's green eyes softened. "Did you now?"

She nodded, her purple hair bouncing with the rhythm. "Yes, I won and kicked my brother's ass in the process." Her brother shot her a deadly glare as the king chuckled at the happy tone his daughter had adopted for the time being. "Well done, Aydia."

"Thank you, father." Aydia bowed her head in thanks as the king's eyes rested on the male twin. "Firo?" the 27-year-old demon lifted his head upon hearing his name. "Don't worry, son. I'm sure you'll do well next time." the king flashed his son a gentle, warm smile. Despite his regal status, he was kind, caring and loving towards his two children and always looked out for them when he could.

"Yeah, Firo, you'll get it next time," Aydia spoke in a mocking tone to tease her brother, who growled at her. "Alright, you two, that's enough!" the King spoke firmly before a fight could break out between them like usual.

"I wanted to speak to you both about the meeting I will be having with the council about the ball in two days. And I want you two to be there." the king told them, but they already knew he would want them there as it was their duty as future rulers of their world.

"But father, you know we hate those meetings." Aydia protested with a grumble, but the king held up a hand to hush her. "I know that you two don't like them, but as the future heirs of this world…"

"We must attend, we know!" Aydia finished for him sarcastically.

"You two are coming and that's final!"

"But, father-"

"That's my final word!" the king snapped, growing frustrated with their protests, wings spread out behind him as he rose from the throne, throwing both of his kids a glare that made them back up. There was no point in arguing with him, so both twins gave a nod of acceptance. "Yes, father," they spoke in unison before turning around and beginning to leave the throne room to do whatever they did.

As soon as the doors closed, the king sighed heavily, sitting back down on the throne, reaching a hand up to rub his temples, hoping to ease the frustration running through his body. The twins, while he loved them very much, could seriously anger him some days and were very persistent and stubborn at not wanting to join in the council meetings and other things. If they were to be the future rulers of this world, they needed to understand what it meant to be a ruler and how much everyone looked up to them!

He remembered being like them when he was their age, not wanting to join in meetings and royal dinners, just wanting to be a rebel and be himself, but unfortunately, his father was rather stern with him and forced him to attend the meetings and dinners to prepare him for the future. He wanted that for his kids, but he didn't want to be like his father, forceful and stern, he just wanted them to learn and be themselves.

Lifting his head, he sighed as the throne room doors were pushed open by one of his servants who briskly walked down the hall, stopping in front of the throne and bowing deeply. "Your majesty." the servant was a female, around the age of 26 with brown hair and blue eyes with brown coloured wings folded at her back.

"Yes, Rania?" he gestured for the woman to stand up. She did so, hands folded behind her back respectfully. "The council wishes to speak with you, your majesty."

The king sighed. "Very well, Rania. Send them in."

"Yes, King Volaris." the servant girl turned and hurried out of the room, returning five minutes later with six men wearing black robes. She bowed and left the room, shutting the door behind her as Volaris rose and walked down the stairs, coming to stand in between Arron and Marcus. "Let's proceed, gentlemen."

Aydia and Firo walked towards the kitchen to grab a bite to eat, as they were rather hungry from their sparring match and needed the energy to do some studies a little later on. Aydia huffed as they entered the kitchen to see a chef demon placing two large chicken drumsticks on two plates. The twins retrieved the plates, thanking the chef before departing for the gardens where they could think while eating.

Seating themselves on a stone bench, they got stuck into their food. Demons craved meat more than anything else and they weren't fans of sweet things. But it was fine as the hunting demons went out every day to hunt for the fresh kill to serve to everyone in the kingdom!

As Firo took a bite of his chicken, he glanced over at Aydia, who seemed to be fuming. But this type of attitude wasn't new to him as she could get pissed off at times. "Upset with father again, sis?" she only grumbled, a clear sign that she was upset with their father, which wasn't something new to him.

"Why doesn't he just let us do what we want for a change? Why should we do what he says all the time?" she threw her hands up in the air in exasperation. Firo chuckled softly at her show before biting into his meat again. Aydia started to eat her meat, chewing it slowly. The twins descended into silence as they ate their lunch before they headed back inside the castle and disposed of their plates in the sink, thanking the chef once more before heading to the courtyard.

Spreading their wings, both twins took to the sky, flying high and above the forest, enjoying the view it provided. Firo glanced over at his sister and saw how her sour mood was improving as they flew further away from the castle and the duties of being royal that were on their shoulders.

"Happy now?" Aydia looked over at him before a smile graced her lips. "It's great getting away from the castle every once in a while, that's for sure." Firo chuckled, happy she was feeling better as they continued their flight, not knowing what awaited them in the future.
