Tom Shusters was finishing his lunch, with Tod Lubitch sitting across from him, he decided to let Tod date his ex-girlfriend Gina. "How's the sandwich, Tod?" Tom asked his new best friend.

"Good." Tod replied.

Tom smiled.

"I'm glad you liked it." Tom said. "Hey, how about after school you, me and Gina can go get a smoothie?"

Tod smiled at his friend.

"I like that idea." He says.

Tom smiled again.

"I'm glad." Tom replied.

Even though the boys just started to become friends, Tom is now starting to look up to Tod as a big brother.

"Ya know, I never had any older brothers." Tom spoke. "But I do now…"

Tod looks up at him.

"You." Tom smiled.

"Thanks." Tod smiled back. "I've never had any younger brothers either, but I'm glad I met ya."

Tom smiled as they ate their lunches.

"Hey bubble-boy!" One of the kids yelled.

Tod bit down on his lower lip.

"I hate those kids." Tom said.

"It's ok, I'm used to it." Tod told him.

Tom felt his heart break.

"Ok, but let me know if it starts really bothering you, ok." Tom said to him. "That's what brothers do, stand up for each other."

Tod just nodded his head as they were about done with their lunches, standing up to leave, one of the kids who yelled and called Tod, names, walked over to Tod and pushed him onto the ground.

"Hey, leave my brother alone!" Tom shouted as he pushed the kid away.

"Tod, are you alright?" Gina asked as she ran to his side.

Tod nods his head.

"Shut up wimp!" The kid yelled.

"Hey!" Tod shouted as he stood up.

Gina, Tom and their friends were shocked by Tod's outburst.

"Don't call him a wimp." Tod told him off. "You mess with my little brother, you mess with me."

The kid rolled his eyes at him.

"Whatever freak." The kid laughs.

"Tod, it's fine." Tom assured him.

Tod looked at the younger boy and saw innocence in his eyes.

"Let's go guys." Tod said as they walked off.

"Wow, Tod you were amazing." One of Gina's best friends said.

Tod smiled.

"Thanks." Tod said. "It's what a big brother would do, right?"

Tom smiled back.

"Of course," Tom said. "Just right."

Tod drapes his arm around him.

"I'm glad I can live a normal life." He smiled.

"Me too." Gina said, smiling at him.

Tod wraps his arm around her waist as they walk back to Tom's car to go to Tod's house to hangout.
