6-year-old Mitra Salar had never been more terrified.

This Halloween was supposed to be for fun. None of these screams needed to sound so real!

Once the real monsters began attacking after she went trick-or-treating, she and her family raced to safety as fast as they could. And down into the basement, where they hoped they'd be safe.

But she dared. Dared to peek out the window. And what she saw shocked her beyond measure.

It was like imagination itself had come to life. Alien ships flew through the sky, blasting at winged monsters. Various wizards casted all kinds of magic, even freezing monsters in their tracks for superheroes to punch and pummel. Knights dueled more monsters, swords and magic cutting them down like nothing. The blue Spider-Man like hero swung off to avoid more alien lasers while yet another Superman parody felt none of the lasers fired from toy robots retaliating with eye lasers of his own. Meanwhile, a high-tech ninja ran across the rooftops, using twin digital katanas to slice and dice his way through the army of the night!

A man in a black trench coat unleashed all of his power as some heavy metal guy swung his ax wildly, laughing like mad. Several kids were out there as well, opening up as many books as they could, with the vortexes emerging from them sucking in as many monsters as possible! One with a green G got the most, but eventually the pages were all filled.

"I'm full!" A girl cried, grabbing another.

"Same here! Almost!" A boy added. "YAH!"

He ducked to dodge a ghost archer's arrow. Shadowy figures with scythes came to strike at the ghosts, pulling them back through ghostly veils and rips in the sky. But more managed to come through the cracks under that blood red moon that looked down on Hollowville like the eye of a giant scary monster.

A teenage girl with a spear managed to take down more werewolves as a younger girl used every single gadget she had. A strange purple beam made a green horned monster too small to be a threat, which she punted away before pinching another to deflate it. She then grew a pebble with a green beam to block more monsters, but dark magic pulverized it!

Another possessed a truck and tossed at some more kids. Another little boy, 12 years old, rushed forth and used a green sword to slice the truck in two with a yell, making it crash into some buildings.

Mitra went wide-eyed. He was AMAZING! The vortexes from his hands sucked something out of some magic, he did a bunch of cool kung fu moves to deal with more shadowy ghosts, breathed fire to melt living snowmen, fired an electric gun to electrocute zombies, and a portal he created sent zombies off cliffs.

He transformed his weapon into an ax to chop a robot in two. Then into a crossbow to down more werewolves. He switched back to his sword, this time adding a shield. His toy robot fired lasers at more evil toys, then he used a super loud device on bats. And just when she thought he couldn't get any MORE bizarre, he turned into a T-Rex and roared before charging at a 10-foot-tall mantis robot, biting down on the head and tossing it.

He tossed his boomerang after changing back, firing a clockwork-like pistol at more zombies to freeze them in place, allowing a boy in his late teens to whack them with his metal mat, and someone else got some more with a hockey stick.

Finally, with his magic, the boy in the white knight armor made knights, pirates, ninjas, samurai, dragons, dinos, soldiers, giants, and many more appear to battle the monster horde! Mitra's eyes widened. He…He was…AWESOME!

"As much as I'm actually enjoying this," A teenage girl added, whacking a zombie with a metal pipe. "We can't keep this up!"

"Hopefully we can hold for a BIT longer." The boy finally spoke. "Cory and Lisa are with THE Van Helsing! They can do this! They can beat Dracula! Right, Grandpa?"

The man in black only opened his briefcase, unleashing a monster horde of his very own, all of them forming from ink as they battled the oncoming beasts.

"I'll take that as a yes." Another kid girl smirked.

"Huh." The boy noted. "I always wondered what was in that thing."

"YEAH!" The man in the heavy metal getup laughed. "GET SOME!"

He decapitated another zombie as he yelled it rock-musically. The head ended up landing right near the window, the zombie growling. Mitra screamed and fell back, crawling away from the window.

She didn't know how long they were down there. It felt like hours. But eventually, something SURREAL happened. Mitra saw a green beam shoot right at the blood red moon, making an impact like one of those lunar landers, possibly even a meteor!

And then, before the front door could be broken down, there was a massive bright FLASH! And everything was so bright! Monsters roared in pain and agony. Zombies exploded. Skeletons fell apart. Vampires disintegrated. And werewolves turned back into humans with no memory as to what happened!

Once all the monsters were gone, the light faded. Somehow, despite a clock still saying it was a few hours after midnight, SOMEHOW it was morning again! Right in the middle of a sunny day, even!

"Ha ha! Yeah!" The boy cheered. "They did it! It's over! It's finally over!"

Mitra peered out again. No way…it WAS over! The nightmare had ended at last!

She only eyed the boy with a smile. Both he and tonight would be something she would NEVER forget…
