Author's Notes
Hello this SSJ4Makaji here and thank you for taking the time to read my first ever posted fan fiction.
And let me quickly explain the whole 'Pilot 8' bit in the title. You see I'm the type of guy that has a lot of ideas for stories and I figure why not at least write one or two of the first chapters and see how much I like writing and how well it goes with the people that end up reading them. And depending on how things turn out I'll decide which ideas to focus on more and make full stories. Or I'll just set up a poll and let people vote on it.
If any of you are curious about what my other ideas are then please check my profile page. Feel free to PM me about them or ask about them in the reviews for any story I post.
Now as for this story, well I'm a huge fan of SilverNugget's Pokemon Loud Version-Kanto and so I wanted to write my own crossover but set in another region. With that said let me give you guys a heads up that this story does take place during No Such Luck. Or rather that takes place between the first second chapters. Yes I know a lot of people are probably sick of NSL stories but I for the most part don't mind them. I find them better than other stories with, in my eyes, seemingly forced betrayals. But that's MY view on the matter. At the very I hope you guys will read the first two chapters of this story before you decide whether or not it's worth your time to keep on reading.
Anyway let me wrap this up with me promoting another's fan work: If you're a fan of Pokemon and fan made animation then I highly recommend checking out The Pokemon Red animated series by Pedro Araujo on YouTube. Here's the Link: watch?v=stu9_JDe18U&list=PLEW5pt51nZ-Oh_fOqnlFYq5sz-jeDfvu
It's based on the first Pokemon games and while there is no dialogue and the animation is far from top notch, it's still an amazing series. And it's all done by one person. Well as far as I know. If you end up liking it then I recommend subscribing to the channel and let Pedro know that people are interested in the series so that he'll consider continuing it with other games.
Oh and for those of you who are curious, no I will be basing Lincoln's adventures on this series.
Now with that out of the way let's get on with the story! I hope you enjoy it!
~Prologue~
Lincoln Loud, The Man with the Plan, eleven year old middle child and only son of his family was currently at his local comic book store, browsing through the various books in search of something new to buy and read. There several comics that were 50% off but a quick glance at the covers told him why they weren't selling so he paid them no mind. Instead he sets his eyes on the ever growing selection of manga and anime merchandise.
'Hmm let's see what am I in the mood for?' Lincoln thought to himself as he took his time to examine the covers and see which would catch his interest. 'An Isekai series? No, had my fill of them for the year. A sequel series? Nah, I rarely like them. Maybe I shou- Hey what's that?'
Something on the corner of his eye caught his attention, prompting him to turn and stared at the far corner of the store where a small table rested. On top of it was a stack of sign up sheets and a cardboard cut out sign. It had been the strange yellow creature on the sign that had drawn Lincoln's eye. It was a weird looking yet adorable rabbit like creature, with two red spots on it's cheeks and a lightning bolt shaped tail. Above the creature the sign read: POKEMON ADVENTURE CONTEST.
Intrigued Lincoln made his way over to the table where he picked up one of the sheets and was surprised to see that it was staple to several more sheets beneath it. Carefully he picked up the bundle by the staple, noting that how thick it was. Flipping through it he counted about twenty pages!
'Geez!' Lincoln thought to himself as he quickly skimmed over the pages and the many, many words that made up the terms and conditions that covered the majority of the forms. 'Who the heck would actually want to read through all of this? The words are all tiny and bunched together! But at least the critters look cool. And cute.'
Ignoring the majority of the text, Lincoln focused more on admiring the creatures while reading the bigger texts to try and piece together what this contest was all about. From what he gathered it was a contest where the winner would get the chance to fly to some private island and be the first to tour some new theme park featuring the strange creatures that covered the sign up forms.
'So it's like Jurassic Park but with fake animals and whatever this magnet ball thing is.' Lincoln summarized as he got to the final pages which were the signature sheets. To his relief they weren't cluttered with words like the first pages before them. Instead there was a brief section that recap of the terms and conditions with the rest being the usual sign here, date and such that one would expect. Mainly the whole IF YOU'RE UNDER 18 section. He stared at that part as he thought over the prospect of asking his parents to sign the forms so he could enter the contest.
"Are ya thinking about entering that contest kid?" The store's clerk asked Lincoln out of the blue, startling the boy out of his thoughts as he turned to look at him. It was a new guy, one that was only recently hired if Lincoln remembered correctly.
"Uh, yeah I was," Lincoln said as he flipped through the pages again. "Could you tell me more about it though? I would read the pages but I don't really wanna."
"Same here kid." The clerk said with a laugh before shrugging. "And to answer your question, I'm sorry kid but I really don't know much about it myself. Apparently when the boss was making his order from Japan for most this anime stuff he accidentally placed an order for a box of this stuff by accident. I found it in storage last week and he told me about it when I asked him. He gave me the go ahead to either throw it out or set it up. It was a slow day so I figured why not. But so far you're the only one that stuck around for more than fifteen seconds."
"Yeah I can see why," Lincoln said as he looked down at the text blocks that covered the forms in his hands. "Still though the monsters look pretty neat. This 'Pokemon' theme park sounds like it would be fun."
"Well whatever it is, if you want to a chance of going you better get those forms filled out and mailed by today. The deadline is this weekend." The clerk explained as he pointed to a date on the sign. Lincoln turned to look at and saw that he was right. He looked back down to the forms as he thought it over for a bit before coming to a snap decision.
"Eh, why not." Causing the clerk to chuckle.
TAP! TAP!
The loud sounds drew the two's attention to the window where Lincoln saw his eldest sister Lori standing outside on her phone and giving him an annoyed and impatient look.
"Well that's my cue to leave." Lincoln sighed before turning to the clerk. "Guess I'll be seeing ya later. And I'll be taking one of these if you don't mind."
"Wait!" The clerk said before he reached under the table and pulled a box containing several large envelopes. He grabbed one and handed it to Lincoln. "Almost forgot to give ya this."
Lincoln looked over the envelope and noted that it was prepaid and already addressed. "Oh, thanks man."
"No problem kid. And good luck on the contest."
TAP! TAP! TAP!
"Thanks! See ya later!" Lincoln said over his shoulder to the clerk, who gave him a small wave, as he hurried out of the store before his sister punched through the glass window.
"About time twerp!" Lori said the moment Lincoln was right infront of her. "Come on I need to get back home ASAP! Mom and Dad need Vanzilla! Now help me carrying my bags!"
Without another word Lori turned and left as she began to text on her phone, leaving Lincoln to deal with the dozens of bags she left behind for him.
"Women." He said with a defeated sigh before he got to work, picking up his sister's bags before hurrying after her so she wouldn't leave him behind.
In less than ten minutes the two in the family van on their way home, all the while Lincoln couldn't stop staring at contest forms in his hands and wondering how he was going to convince his parents to sign them in time.
'It's not going to be easy.' Lincoln thought to himself as he played out the scenario in his mind. 'While I'm good at talking them to do something for me, I usually spend a day or two to prepare my argument. Plus it doesn't help that the girls know how to do it too, so there's a chance of them saying no depending on when this trip takes place.' He thought back to the time he wanted to go on a weekend camping trip with some of his friends but his parents needed him to stay home and help look after his younger sisters, since they and the older girls would be busy with their own things. 'Still though, I should give it a shot. If I can just have a minute of their time.'
- Hours later at the Loud House -
Unfortunately for Lincoln it seemed that his parents couldn't even spare him five seconds, let alone a minute as the duo where busy helping the majority of the girls with their own things. From taking Lynn to her game, Lola to a pageant, Lisa to some lecture she was going to give at a college, Lucy to one of her club meetings and so much more. He had lost count of how many times he had said 'Hey Mom' and 'Hey Dad' only to get the reply of 'Not now Lincoln' or 'Just a sec' over and over again.
Under most circumstances Lincoln wouldn't have been bothered by being brushed off like that but seeing as time was running out for him to mail his forms, the boy couldn't help but start to feel a bit ticked off. Okay maybe more than just a bit ticked off.
So it was time to be assertive. Mustering as much confidence and trying his best to make himself look manly he marched right into the kitchen where his parents were busy getting some meals and other stuff ready for the girls.
"MOM! DAD! I need a moment of yo-"
"Lincoln! Come here and take over the stove for a bit!" Lynn Sr cut him off as he frantically tried to stir two pans at once. "I forgot to chop up the onions for Leni's omelet."
"And after that I need you to look after Lily while I take Lola and Leni get ready for their events." Rita said as she packed for those trips while also carrying the youngest Loud.
"Not until you guys take a minute to look this over and sign it!" Lincoln said firmly as he held out the forms out for his parents to see.
"Lincoln we don't have ti-" Lynn began only to find himself cut off.
"Well make some time!" Lincoln all but shout, with a firm voice. "I know you're both busy but I really need you two to look this over," he held up and waved the forms at his folks, "and decide whether or not to sign it, so that I can enter this contest. And I need to mail this today or else I'm going to miss the deadline!"
Lynn Sr turned to his only son, ready scold him for his tone and demand however his wife spoke first.
"Alright sweetie, we'll take a look at it." Rita said causing her husband to look over at her. Noticing his stare Rita turned towards him. "Honey we've been blowing off Lincoln for the last few hours and now we're pretty much demanding his help. It wouldn't be fair to him if didn't at least give him a minute of our time."
"MOM! MOM! WE GOT AN EMERGENCY UP HERE!" The twins cried from upstairs followed by a lot more screaming and thrashing from upstairs causing the mother of eleven to let out a sigh.
"I'll go take care of that," She began as she rose to her feet, strapping Lily in her highchair before turning to her husband. "Lynn, you take look at that contest form and let me know if you think it's okay for Lincoln to enter it. I'll sign too and after that Lincoln you can go and drop it off in the mailbox around the corner but be quick about it."
"Okay honey/You bet Mom!" Cried both father and son, as they watched the woman leave.
Lynn turned down the stove before wiping his hands and then turning to Lincoln. "Alright Sport let me see that."
The moment he grabbed hold of the papers his eyes widen in surprise at how many pages there were, and they doubled once he saw how much there was to read.
"Good Lord, Lincoln!" Lynn said in disbelief as he flipped through the pages and skimming through them. "Just what kind of contest is this?"
"Uh I think it's to win a trip?" Lincoln hesitantly replied, still unsure about it himself. However his father was too preoccupied trying to read as fast and as much as he could, and in his hast he came to his own conclusion about the so-called trip.
"So it's like some sort of summer camp?" He asked as the world's wilderness survival and camping stuck out to him.
"Um I think it's more of some sort of a theme park."
"You kids today are into some really odd stuff." Lynn said as he finally took notice of the monsters on the pages. He knew that his son was more of a comic nerd and while he had nothing against that, he still wished that he would be a bit more active. And maybe going to this camp thing would be just the ticket. "But camp is camp so why not," he said as he went to fish out a pen from a nearby by drawer and flipped to the last page. He paused briefly and turned to Lincoln with a very serious. "We don't have to pay for anything right? This is an all expenses paid type of contest right?"
"I think it is, yeah." Lincoln said with uncertainty. His father just started at him, making the boy very uncomfortable before shrugging it off. "Good enough for me." And with that he filled out his section of the form in record time, finishing with his signature.
"Here ya go Sport." He said as he handed by the form along with the pen to his son. "Now go upstairs and have your mom sign her part, and tell her that I already filled up most of her part too."
"Thanks Dad!" Lincoln cheered as he gave him a quick hug before running upstairs.
"You're welcome. And be quick about it!" Lynn shouted back before he smelled something burning. "Oh crap, the stove!"
- Upstairs -
While his father dealt with salvaging some burnt food Lincoln ran upstairs in search of his mother only to almost running into her as she stepped out of the twins' room.
"Lincoln!" Rita snapped at her son. "You can't be running the house like that!"
"Sorry Mom but I need you to finish signing this! Dad already filled out most of your part, all you have to do is sign it!" Lincoln replied as he held up the forms and pen. Rita took the items from her son, blinking at how many pages there were and her eyes widening as like her husband and son before her skimmed the pages to see just how much there was to read.
'The heck? What kind of contest requires all of this legal jargon?' Rita thought as she tried to read what she thought was the more important and informative parts but the tiny and cramped together text made it difficult. 'There's no way Lynn read all of this!' Granted that was something that she and many others were guilty off but considering that this seemed to be some kind of contest to win trip, Rita couldn't help but feel very suspicious about it all. So much that she didn't want to sign it. However when she looked down at her son, the way he looked back up at her with those pleading and hopeful eyes made it difficult for her to find the will to tell him no.
'Still I can't just sign something witho-'
CRASH!
Rita's thoughts were cut short as the sounds of the twins fighting started up again from inside their room, with other girls joining. With a heavy, tired sigh she looked at the forms in her hands then to her son and then back to the forms. She quickly weighed which her options and their outcomes. 'If I tell him no after Lynn already signed it then he'll be real upset with me and refuse to help us out. ~Sigh~ Ah the heck with it! Chances he won't even win. And if he does, well that's Future Me's problem.'
Rita flipped to the final page, silently thanking her husband for filling out her part and she was relived to see that there wasn't a need for them to put down any of their banking information. She quickly signed the form and handed back to her son. "Alright Lincoln here-"
"Thanksmom!" Was her only son's reply as he snatched the forms out of her hands, gave her a quick but strong hug before he turned and zipped down the stairs and out the door at speeds that would probably make Lynn Jr jealous.
"-ya go." Rita finished with a sigh before a big happy smile formed on her face, happy that she managed to make her son happy.
CRASH!
"MOM!"
Rita's smile fell as she let out another sigh before heading right back into the warzone known as the twins' room.
- Outside -
With skills gained over the years of living in a house full of girls like his sisters, Lincoln was able to put the forms into the prepaid and stamped envelop, licking the glue stripe and sealing shut all while running out of his house and onto the street. He was heading straight for the drop off box on the next block over, his only chance of mailing the forms in time without taking too much time or trying to convince his parents or Lori to drive him to the post office.
All he has to do was get there, put his address on the envelope and drop it in. However as it came into view, he saw something that made him panic. The mailman was already there and looking ready to drive off.
"WAIT!" Lincoln yelled at the top of his lungs, startling the poor man, as he ran even faster and closing the distance within seconds. Breathing heavily he leaned against the mailbox to keep himself from collapsing to the ground. With some struggle he placed the envelope against the metal surface and wrote his address on it before bringing it up to the mailman's face. "I-I have so-some ma-mail f-for you."
"Uh thank?" The mailman said, unsure on how to response. He took the envelope and started up his car. "Have a good day? I guess?"
Without another word he drove off, leaving Lincoln alone to recover and enjoy a minute or two of peace and quite before he made his way back to the madness that was his home.
BOOM!
"LINCOLN! HELP!"
'Huh fifteen whole seconds. That's new record.' Lincoln thought to himself before he pushed himself of the mailbox and ran back to his house.
The contest was soon forgotten by both parents and son thanks to the ensuing and seemingly endless chaos that was their life. Unbeknownst to them however it was going to change their entire lives forever.
- Weeks later, unknown location -
In the middle of a candlelit room where three figures. Two stood at the side of a third and smaller one. They were all dressed in light blue hooded robes with a dragon like mask covering their faces. On both sides of the smaller one there were two boxes containing envelopes with one box running out. The figure held an envelope in it's hands, pressing it against their forehead for a few seconds before pulling it away.
"Not this one." The small figure spoke in a soft childish feminine voice before tossing the envelope into the box with the most envelopes and then went to grab another one from the other box. She pressed it against her head like the one before it, pulling it away and gave the same response as before. "Not this one."
It was the same thing for the past several hours. Box after box, envelope after envelope. All have been rejected all the way down to their last box. And now there was just one last envelope to be examined. With a heavy and disappointed sigh she went to grab the final envelope and almost immediately she tensed up when her hand made contact, letting out a little gasp. With shaking hands she brought it up and pressed it against her forehead. However unlike all the ones before it, she held it like that for what seemed like an eternity and causing the two other individuals to grow concern.
"Uh is something wr-" One of them, with deep male voice, began to ask only to cut himself short when the young girl suddenly turned towards him, scaring him and his companion.
"This one. This one here." She said as they held up the envelope towards the pair. "Go. Bring him here…. And get me some ice cream too."
"At once Princess." The first servant said as he grabbed the envelope and motioned for his companion to leave with him. Once they were outside the room he all but threw the envelope into the hands of his companion. "You take care of this while I get the ice cream."
"Huh?" His companion, a young male from the sounds of his voice, replied. "Wait why do I have to do this?"
"Cause I'm the senior here that's why. Now go!" The senior servant said as he left for his own self-appointed task, leaving the younger one fuming. But he knew better than to throw a fit right then and there.
Taking a deep calming breath the servant went on his way to get a mountain of paperwork started. As he walked he couldn't help but peek down at the chosen envelope in his hands.
"It's always the last one of things isn't it?" He quipped as he looked at the name on it. "Lincoln Loud huh? I hope you got what it takes to make it here."
End Author's Notes:
So? Did you love it? Hate it? Please tell me know in the reviews, I welcome any constructive criticism and any suggestions you might have.
And some spoilers for you that have read this far:
Lincoln will be going to Johto and his starter Pokemon will be Cyndaquil and he'll end having two traveling companions.
Why Johto? Partly because no one else has done it and it's my favorite region.
Why Cyndaquil? Because it's one of my favorite starters and it's final evolution is freaking awesome.
Who will be Lincoln's companions? One is from PokeToons and the other is from a whole another franchise. Feel free to try and guess who they might be.
….Although I might change my mind about Johto and ect. Or I might just use this chapter to start any other LH x Pokemon crossovers of mine. Time will tell.
Anyway that's all for now my dear readers! Have a nice day!
