Slipstream and Jetstorm were training and busy at it and they saw Russell coming through with somethings. "Do you need a hand Russell?" Jetstorm asked.
"I got it," Russell said. Then started to work on something.
"What are you doing?" Slipstream asked.
"Father's day is coming up, and I am making something special for my dad," Russell said.
"Father's day?" Slipstream and Jetstorm asked. "What's that?" they asked.
"It is a day on earth set aside for fathers and all that they do," Russell said.
"Like what?" Slipstream asked.
"What do fathers do?" Jetstorm asked.
"Well my dad makes me breakfast. He helps me learn right from wrong, protects me, encourages me, helps me believe in myself, learn from my mistakes, keep trying, and to always do my best no matter what," Russell said.
"That sounds amazing," Slipstream said.
"Drift does many of those things for us doesn't he Slipstream?" Jetstorm asked.
"You are quiet right Jetstorm, after we both lost our families when we were young and met each other and ran into Shadow Raker then running away from him with Master Drift he has done many of those things for us," Slipstream said.
"So in a way Drift is not just a teacher he is like a dad to you both," Russell said.
"Yes in a way we guess he is," Slipstream said.
"Hey Slipstream how about we do something special for Drift for father's day?" Jetstorm asked.
"Great idea Jetstorm, but what should we do?" Slipstream asked.
"What do humans normally do for father's day?" Jetstorm asked.
"Well some people give their dads cards, others make a meal for them, others make a special presents, others do special things with them," Russell said. "What I am doing is making a special dad scrapbook, I got all the pictures of him with me in it." he said. "Look here is a picture of dad holding me the day I was born," he said showing the minicons.
"Wow you were so small Russell," Jetstorm said.
"Yes and you got bigger," Slipstream said.
"Hey how about we put all the pictures of us and Drift in a big scrapbook for him?" Jetstorm said.
"That is a great idea," Slipstream said. "I know where he keeps the photos on the ship," he said.
"Great," Jetstorm said.
Then they made a large enough book and got all the photos and were ready to get to work on it. They made sure to keep it hidden from Drift they didn't want him finding it before it was ready.
Drift was wondering what his students were up to. "What are they doing? They have been sneaking off after lessons and appearing late for lessons," Drift said. "I am wonder what has gotten into them," he said.
"Well Drift they are still young minicons keep that in mind," Fixit said.
"Yes they are only kids," Bumblebee said.
"I know and I am still their teacher and they should be as they are told," Drift said. "They also haven't been telling me what they are doing, they always tell me what they were doing before if they were late for a lesson or if they were heading off after a lesson, they haven't kept secrets from me before and I find this concerning," he said.
"Well maybe it is something they want to tell you at a later time," Denny said. "Keep in mind they are at that age just like Russell where they are about to be teenagers and it is a confusing time for kids at that age because they are going through many changes, they are starting to hit puberty and they are turning into adults so it is a time where kids might be secretive, so it is a normal part of growing up," he said.
"Yes I can be like that at times," Side swipe said.
"Me too," Strongarm said.
"I was like that once," Grimlock said.
"As was I," Bumblebee said.
"I hate to admit I was like that at that age myself," Drift said. "I just worry about them, those two lost their parents at a young age when they first met and they ran into Shadow Raker who took them in and trained them to steal when I was there and I chose to take them with me and left taking them in as my own, I was going to do my best to be a teacher for them and be a family for them since they lost their own families," he said.
"So in a way your more than a teacher you are also like their dad," Denny said.
"Yes," Drift said.
Then Father's day came.
It was early in the morning Russell began to make breakfast for his dad. Slipstream and Jetstorm were putting the finishing touches on their present. "There, all done," Jetstorm said. "We are a gluey mess," he said. "We better clean up," he said.
"Good idea," Slipstream said and they cleaned up and then wrapped the present.
Then Denny woke up and others were awake. Russell gave Denny his present. "Happy Father's day dad!" Russell said. Denny opened the present.
"Oh Russell how nice, it is scrapbook of all the pictures of you and me together." Denny said.
"That's sweet," Strongarm said.
Then Slipstream and Jetstorm came up to Drift. They showed him a present. "For you," They said.
"Thank you," Drift said and opened up the present it was a scrapbook. Drift opened up the book and had all pictures of him and his students together in it. From the day they first met. "This is the day I first met you both I remember that, when I was with Shadow Raker and you two swiped something from pockets and then followed me back to try to take more and Shadow Raker saw you both and asked where you came from, and I saw you two with a few of my belongings which I took back." Drift said.
"Yes I remember that too," Jetstorm said. "Shadow Raker gave me such a fright that I wet myself that day," he said.
"Look at this picture this is when you two got into the weapons I had stored on Shadow Raker's ship and began to mess with them," Drift said.
"I remember we got hurt by the weapons," Slipstream said.
"Yes and you helped Slipstream by picking out his Nagahita for him, and picking out for me my nun chucks." Jetstorm said.
"Yes I did," Drift said. "Here is a picture shortly after we ran away from Shadow Raker. We had redone our paint jobs and got Autobot symbols," he said. "There is were we got our ship and got approved as bounty hunters and started as a bounty hunting team together," he said.
"I remember that," Slipstream said.
"Me too," Jetstorm said.
"Look at this when you two caught that bad Cybertronian cold and insisted on trying help still even though I urged you to rest," Drift said. "Here is another picture of you two that Russell took after joining the team of us watching that movie together called the Karate kid I believe." he said.
"Yes I remember you liked that movie a lot," Russell said.
"Here is a picture of the three of us meditating together," Drift said.
"Do you like it?" Slipstream asked.
"I love it," Drift said.
"Slipstream and I have been working on it for past few days to get ready for Father's day for you," Jetstorm said. "We kept very quiet about it and asked Russell to keep quiet about it because he was the only other one who knew, we wanted to keep it a surprise," he said.
"This is a most thoughtful gift, I guess I was concerned over nothing," Drift said. "Today you didn't just make me proud as a teacher, you made be proud that I am now your father," he said.
Then Drift hugged his students who hugged him back.
