I see Plagg pull up in the distance and I begin saying my goodbyes.

"Bye guys! It was fun shopping with you all today. See you at school on monday everyone!" I cheerfully say to the group. "And Kagami, thank you for offering that cafe instead of going for Froyo. I really appreciate it."

"No problem, Ellie. What are friends for?"

I smile at her and the rest say their goodbyes back to me.

"Bye Ellie!"

"Have a safe ride home,"

"See you monday~"

I start walking towards the parking lot, until Adrien jogs up behind me and calls my name.

"Ellie! Hey, sorry."

"What's up Adrien?"

"I forgot to ask you earlier and I guess now is the right time, I..." Seeming nervous at first, he finishes his sentence with a chuckle, "Well, my dad wanted to meet your parents before we go to homecoming just for safety concerns. At least that's why I think he wanted to meet you guys. Otherwise he would've put me together with someone completely different for his business' image, haha." I notice how his hand finds its way to his anxious comfort spot; behind his neck.

I let out a little giggle at how flustered he became, and just say, "Of course that would be fine, Adrien. I would love to meet your Dad and I am sure my parents wouldn't mind at all. When do you want us over?"

He seemed so relieved it made me feel a sense of relief as well, which I hope is a good sign.

"He wanted it as a pre-homecoming dinner, so next friday a few hours before the dance. Would that be okay?"

"More than okay, thank you for the invite. See you Monday in weights." I give him a smile and continue the walk over to Plaggs car.

For some reason I couldn't get the smile off of my face. Which is... odd to say the least.

I just couldn't help myself. So in a last second venture, my head turned back around to give Adrien one last wave. He was still standing there, smiling, and waving back.

My smile probably seemed ridiculous, because when I sat in the passenger's seat, Plagg was laughing at me.

"Hey lovebug, you're not falling in love on a mission are you?" Plagg smirked.

I give him a frown. "I know protocol, Plagg. I'm not in love. I can control my emotions, thank you very much."

"I know, I'm just playing around. What did Mr. Golden head boy say that could make you smile so hard?"

"Oh it was nothing too big," I say. "His dad invited us over for dinner a few hours before homecoming next friday. Would that work for you guys?"

"Why not? It would be a perfect time to investigate, since he is high on the suspect list."

I give him a confirming nod, till it's cut off by Plagg putting a single finger up, as to say something.

"But..." he says, "A word of advice. Although you probably already know this, please don't get too close with Adrien. You know better, I know. And I say this with all due respect. I know you are an amazing agent. But sometimes those who know better don't realize how far they go until it is too late."

I take in his words of advice and nod, driving home in comfortable silence. A known comfortability shared between agents in our sector.

Back at the agency, there was a legacy code that meant strict respect rules for seasoned and veteran agents. Given my age, that puts me in a much different position than many. But I follow authority when it is in my conscious to do so.

Deep inside, I know Plagg is right. I've only been here for a little over two weeks, and lots of change has happened. I typically follow my personal mission rules strictly, which is what got me to such a high ranking position in the agency at my age in the first place. But I can't help but think that maybe I am rediscovering a part of myself that was once lost.

Time will tell.
