"Thank you for coming ~" Bon smiled shaking everyone's hands as they walked out the door. Sally run up to her troop. They all congratulated her wholeheartedly and as they began to go Sally pulled her best friend to the side. "What did you say to her?" Sally demanded an answer. "What do you mean?" He played innocent as he tried to shimmy past her. "She seemed a lot happier when you two stopped dancing, why?" She stomped her foot. "We had a little misunderstanding and I cleared it up that's all. I wanted to know why she ran, and now I do. Both problems solved." He tried to step away again, and once more Sally blocked his path. "Now tell me." She demanded. "Ask her yourself." He insisted. "Please?" Sally got down on her knees, sadly begging for his explanation. He sighed and looked over at the busy noble to make sure she was occupied. "She thought we were a couple. I knew we should have cut the kiss entirely." Sally's eyes grew wide in shock. She hadn't realized Bon got hurt over a stage kiss, that didn't even happen. "Ooooh...? oooooh...!" Sally rose to her feet and hugged her friend. "Thank you so much for telling me! Now I have to apologize to Bon. Good night!" Sally ran over to her princess and squeezed her tightly. "Oh Bon Bon! I love you so much!" Sally proclaimed proudly. Bon chuckled as her face lit up. "Sally~! We still have guests!" She couldn't help but giggled at the surprise affection. "I know~ but I couldn't wait." Sally pecked her woman's cheek before releasing. "Are you going home tonight?" Bon asked as she continued to thank her leaving visitors. "Only if you want me to." The actress teased playfully.
After the castle was clear Bon took a seat in the lounge, with Sally at her side. The actress was gently massaging Bon's soar feet as Berry walked up. "We need to talk my lady." The bear proclaimed. "Can It wait?" Bon whined. "We need to talk about the incident and now your current relation status."
Bon sat up and kissed Sally's cheek in thanks. "Fine, but Sally needs to know too." The actress looked over in concern, "What's this about Sugar?" "I... Um... lost a battle for my soul." Bon curled up at the end of the sofa shamefully. "No! How...?! When...?!" Sally didn't mean to upset Bon, and when she saw her lady brake into tears she regretted her approach. "Oh BonBon I'm sorry for yelling. Please calm down." Sally slowly held out her arms, which Bon jumped into instantly. "And how should we fix this?" Berry asked calmly. "I... don't know." Bon sniffled. "I could try trading mine." Sally offered but Bon didn't find it amusing. "I forbid you from doing that! I lost my soul, that isn't your responsibility." Bon growled. "I love you Sugar. If you're freedom costs me mine, I'll do it." Sally offered sincerely. Bon snuggled closely as she talked, "No. if anything, it would make me feel worse. At least I'm trapped here. Doing the Devil's handy work is out of my jurisdiction." Bon answered all smug like, earning herself a few chuckles from the others. "I won't argue, but I will fight for you if I must my darling." Sally added as she tried to relax. "Now you're relationship." "Berry we just become official today. It wasn't even a marriage proposal." Bon snapped, ignoring Sally's blush. "Granted it wasn't, but if she's going to be here she needs to have a Coronation."
"She isn't my wife yet Berry! She doesn't need one now."
"My lady..."
"Berry, drop it." Bon ordered.
"Wife!?" Sally's face was completely red as she thought about their future wedding.
"See, you got her all worked up. Darling we can take it as slow as we need to alright?" Bon smiled but was unprepared for what came next.
"Bon... would you marry me?" Sally slid her hands into Bon's as she shyly looked away.
"Y...yes... but let's get to know each other better before that! Berry is just old fashioned."
They both looked at each other lovingly as Berry noticed Bon's bare legs. "Your highness! Where are your splints!"
"I tossed them. They pinch when I walk."
"Do you two always argue like this?" Sally chuckled knowing full well she was changing the subject. "Lady Sally, please help her be reasonable. Her legs aren't fully healed, yet she danced around like they were."
"It's my birthday Berry. I was having fun. It will be awhile until I can dance like that again anyway."
"Speaking of, how are your legs? May I look?" Sally waited for a nod before scooting the dress up to Bon's thighs. Berry walked over and watched as Sally gently touched the gashes of pink flesh. Bon bit back her pain. "What exactly happened here Bon?"
"I... don't remember. I can remember starting a fight... but after that, all I can remember was trying to get back up..." Bon explained. "My poor Sugar. No more fighting for you. I don't think my heart could handle it." Sally leaned back, dramatically holding her chest. "I only fight when I have to. I put myself in this situation because I wasn't thinking clearly. Now can we drop it? I know my soul is important... but what's done is done. Blame me if you must." Bon tried to stand but fell back down with a huff. "I got you. We're going to bed Berry." Sally announced, sweetly lifting Bon off the sofa. "Good night ladies." Berry sighed.
"So you're staying with me tonight?" Bon asked cutely as she snuggled into Sally's arms. "Well it is your birthday. Your wish is my command, your majesty." Sally smirked as Bon blushed wildly. "Yes please! But what about pajamas?" Bon asked curiously. "My shirt is long enough I think. Does my skin bother you?"
"No! Not at all!" Bon was flustered by Sally's openness. Images of Sally started to fill her brain, so she tried shaking them out. It didn't seem to work. Sally couldn't help but giggle at her energetic red faced lover.
Sally was able to carry her princess up to her room, gently placing her on the bed. "There we go. Now let's get you comfortable. May I take a gander at your closest?" She asked. Bon let out a small chuckle, "Of course my love. What's mine is yours." She flopped onto the bed as Sally pulled back the sliding door. She was amazed on how many dresses the baroness owned. Each one smelt sweet and filled with color. Her eyes landed on the dress Bon had worn at the theater. It was ripped to shreds and covered in... chocolate? It was a mess. She noticed a large bite like gash on the side. "I wonder if..." Sally said out loud as she looked back.
She wondered around until she found a comfortable looking night gown with matching shorts. Both pink with white lace. She grabbed it and headed back out the hall. "Is this alright? I thought it looked cute." Sally smirked proudly as Bon sat back up. "Yes that should be fine." Bon slid off the bed and turned as she began to lift up her pink gown. "Need any help?" Sally offered with bright red cheeks. "I'll be ok." She answered, lifting it over her head. Sally could see her exposed backside and arms covered in scars and gashes. They looked like they were healing quickly, but the sight made Sally feel heartbroken. She lowered her eyes to Bon's side. It was wrapped up in a candy bandage, secured tightly around her lower back. Sally tried not to look any farther down. "Is that one pretty bad?" Sally's voice dropped in tone as she barely touched the wrap. "Do you want me to be honest?" Bon asked, holding out her hand for the clothing. Sally handed it off as she answered in a shaky, "Yes." Bon sighed as she slipped the gown over her head. "I had to get it rebuilt. I have no feeling there at the moment."
"Rebuilt?"
"Mm-Hu. I wouldn't be able to stand if it wasn't done. I barely had a lower back at all apparently. My head was separated from my body too. "
Sally had no words. Conflicting emotions shook her at her core. She would have ran to the underworld if Bon hadn't pulled her into a loving hug. "Sally, I'm alright. It was all my fault. I worried you and I can't go back to fix that, but I hope you can forgive me."
"Forgive you?" Sally gave a deep chuckle that took Bon by surprise. "This was my fault. I should have told you my feelings from the start. I wanted to impress you so I wouldn't seem so inferior. I didn't want to just play a part, I wanted you to see me."
Bon's eyes softened as she pulled away. She calmly began to unbutton Sally's blue blazer as the actress kept her eyes on her. "Then let's call a truce. I won't make rash decisions, and you can be yourself. I wouldn't want you any other way." Bon smiled as she began to undo the tie. "I am all yours darling, you don't need to show off for me."
Sally listened closely as Bon tried to soothe her. Every word made her body heat up as if she was going to melt. She gently lifted a hand up to Bon's patched cheek. "You really are made of candy. You're so sweet I might get addicted." She smirked as Bon tried to look away. "Oh? You liked that didn't you?"
"S...shut up! Let's go to bed, I'm tired." Bon tried to turn but Sally lifted her onto the bed with a plop. Sally crawled up besides her, slipping off the blazer and tie. "Aw~ but I'm wide awake. Guess I've had too much Sugar." She snuggled closer as Bon playfully pushed her away. "Stop~ your getting cheesier!" She giggled but relaxed as Sally began to place light kisses up her scared arm. "Alright, I'll stop. Come here." Sally slipped her arm under Bon's head and let her get comfortable. "Good night Sally." "Good night Bon Bon."
As she awoke, Sally nuzzled into the back of Bon's neck. "Good morning Darling." Bon called lively. "How long have you been awake?" Sally yawned as she allowed the princess to sit up. "I was too comfortable to keep track." Bon picked up her brush and pulled it through her tangled locks. Sally rolled over to lay her head on the noble's lap. "Can I stay here with you?" She asking sleepily. Bon was surprised. She blinked with widened eyes and slowly lowered her brush. "Yes! Stay as long as you like! What about your theater?"
"It's in good hands for now. I had already planned to take a brake."
"Really? But you love being on stage."
Sally gently sat up, sliding her fingers up to Bon's chin. "I do, but I love you too." She leaned in to leave a small kiss on soft sugary lips. Bon's face grew a few shades pinker. "I... love..." She was interrupted by small knocking at the door. As Berry entered the room she shot him an evil yellow eyed glare. "Sorry for interrupting, but the doctor is here to see you my lady." He was unfazed by her angry stare. "I'm fine, now leave us alone."
"Sugar you should get looked at." Sally slipped her hand around Bon's to calm her down. "We have plenty of time."
Bon groaned. "Fine. Give me a few minutes." She ordered. "As you wish." Berry scurried out the door.
"Who's side are you on?" Bon teased as she slipped out of bed, and skipping to her closet. "Yours. We just care about you Sugar." Sally defender herself. The bond watched as the noble pulled out a small case. She was now wearing the same dress Sally had given her the morning they first met. Bon was also carrying two pairs of warm tights and a pink hoodie. "Is it going to get cold today?" Sally asked as she tilted her head. "It is where we're going. Just don't tell Berry. After my checkup let's go out." Bon smiled as she quickly put the clothes into the case. A flash of metal caught Sally's eye, but she didn't want to ruin the surprise. "Here, put this on. It should fit." Bon handed her a pair of the tights with a small peck. "Yes my lady ~" Sally cooed playfully as Bon flashed a smile on her way out the door.
After changing her pants, washing her makeup smeared face, and combing out her nightmare of curls; Sally was ready for the day ahead. She ran down the stairs and entered the lounge. Bon was sitting in her chair with the a tall peppermint man examining her legs. "Everything alright?" Sally asked as she sneakily stashed the case behind the door. "Her legs are healing nicely, but her hip needs more time to regenerate." The man released the leg and bowed his head to Bon, then Sally, who wasn't quite sure if that was appropriate. "Good day ladies. Please be careful my lady Bon Bon, you're injuries are still great." He said as he walked past Sally with a whisper, "Please keep an eye on her. She's rambunctious." Sally couldn't help but laugh. "What?!" Bon questioned with a small pout. "He said you're doing great."
"No, he said my injuries 'are still great'." She protested, making Sally laugh once more. "Yes, of course Sugar."
Both turned when a cupcake entered the room. He had a box in his hands that he presented to the baroness. "My lady, I fulfilled your request."
"Splendid, I appreciate your hard work. Thank you." Bon responded kindly as she waved him in dismissal. "What's that?" Sally asked as she held out a hand. "Lunch. We can't really have a date without some kind of food." Bon took it happily.
"D...date?!" Sally pulled her up in shock. "Why wouldn't I take my girlfriend on a date?" Bon questioned playfully, making Sally's cheeks heat up. "Are you sure that's a good idea? What about your legs?" Sally asked with concern. "Why is everyone so worried about me? I'm fine. If I was in pain I would let everyone know about it."
"Alright, I trust you Sugar. Now where are we going?"
"That, my love, is a surprise!"
After packing up a saddle bag on Butterscotch, the candy horse, Bon hopped on to her willing steed. The horse stayed in a kneeling position as Bon held out an arm. "Well? Come on. Butters is stronger then she looks."
"Are you sure? I wouldn't want to hurt her back."
Bon smiled, "How sweet! Butters, how do you feel about it?" The horse stood and turned to the blond. Sally was taken by surprise when the horse used its neck to scoop Sally onto her back. Bon pecked Sally's shocked face. "I think she was getting tired of waiting." She snickered as Butters started to trot.
Sally shivered when a blast of cold air hit her back. "Cold sweet heart? Here." Bon slid her hand into her case and pulled out the hoodie she stashed. She wrapped it around Sally's shoulders . "Thanks Sugar, but what about you?" "I'm fine. I come here all the time."
Sally's eyes widened when she laid her eyes on a frozen pink lake. "This looks amazing!" She smiled as Bon took her hands to help her down. "I knew you would like it. I use to come here a lot when I was little." Bon explained as Butters helped her down. She began to rummage through the case. Two pairs of skates glistened in the sunlight. "Oh! Sugar I don't know how to ice skate." Sally looked down but was lifted back up by Bon's fingers "If you'd like, I can teach you. Or if you'd prefer a show ~ I would happily give you one." The noble quickly slipped on the blades and tightly tied the laces. "I don't mind giving it a try. I love new things." Sally slid on the other pair. When she looked back up, she watched in Aw as Bon spun in the cold crisp air. Bon looked over with a smile as he circled back around. "You need any help Darling?" She cooed when she came to a stop. "Yes please." The actress got to her feet and slowly held out her arms. "I got you." Bon sweetly took them and gently glided Sally onto the ice. At first Sally had a hard time keeping her balance but Bon was able to stabilize her. "You're doing great! Just keep your eyes on me." The pink one squeezed the blond's hands as she slowly turned to Sally's side, still holding on tightly. "Bon!"
"You're alright. I still got you. See?" Bon slowly wrapped an arm around Sally's hip, with a warm smile and a loving grip.
After a long skating lesson, the two women sat along the frozen lake. "Hungry?" Bon asked as she pulled out the box of goodies. "You're not going to fill me up with doughnuts and cupcakes are you?" Sally smirked, taking Bon's soft cheek into her hands. The candy princess giggled as she presented the contents. Various homemade crackers and cheeses lined half of the box, with bright mixed berries filling the other. The actress was surprised as the feeling of butterflies took over her stomach. "This was so thoughtful! BonBon you're so wonderful!" Sally couldn't help but pull her closer into a kiss. "I knew you'd like it~ I'll make sure to feed you well. "
"And I'm going to protect you with all my might. You're never going to get hurt again!" Sally proclaimed in high spirits, as her date giggled softly. "You don't have to promise me anything. All I desire is your spare time." Bon leaned against Sally with a lovely hum of content.
The three made it back safely to the castle. Bon was passed out way before they even left the lake. "Thank you Butterscotch." Sally bowed as low as she could with the sleeping noble in her arms. The horse bowed back before Sally turned to see Berry. "Oh, hello Berry. Mind if I lay Bon down?"
The bear bowed as he held open the door. "Of course I don't mind lady Sally. This is the most relaxed I've ever seen her." Sally walked by with a small smile. "Lady Sally? Why so formal?"
"You're engaged to the baroness, so of course..."
"Engaged?!" Sally tried her best to lower her voice for Bon nuzzled into her shoulder with a whimper. "She said yes to your proposal last night, did she not?"
"Yes... but ..."
"If you're serious about being with my lady, then please get use to the special treatment here. I will try to refrain when we're alone if you desire."
"Yes. I'd appreciate it." Sally sighed. She asked Berry to have Butterscotch unpacked as she took the baroness to her room. Sally carefully changed her and left her to sleep. She had no idea the rest of the day was going to change for the worse.
As the actress took the last step down, a knock came to the castle gate. "Who could that be?" She thought to herself as she hesitated to open it. Rage filled her senses as the two most hated creatures of the Isles were standing on her lover's doorstep. "If you don't want any trouble, I suggest you leave." Sally sneered at The Devil and King Dice as they looked her up and down. "My, my. So the rumor is true. You and Bon Bon are an item now?" The Dice head chuckled as his boss kept a straight face. "Step aside Sally. We're here for the baroness." The Devil smirked, but as he began to step forward Sally threw a sharp fan in his wake. "She's resting. She's in no condition to run your errands you monster." She spat, holding another fan in defense. "Now now. Her soul is ours. How about you run along and join that troop of yours." Dice said as he used a playing card to disarm Sally's trap. "You might have her soul but I will guard her with my life. Whatever you want you can tell me and I will relay the message." Sally held back her growls as she spoke. "Mm, no. Dice." The Devil whipped his tail in distaste as the tall purple block head stepped forward. Sally prepared herself for an impact but when she found an opening she spun upwards and kicked Dice back outside with a tumble. The Devil sighed, "I guess I must do everything myself." He sneered as his body began to transform into a long snake like dragon. He began to wrap himself around the defenseless actress. "Cheep trick! If I was on my stage..!"
"Oh do shut up. You're weak without your cardboard cutouts."
"Don't you dare call me weak you slimy son of a...!"
He squeezed her tightly, cutting off her air supply. What he didn't anticipate was an army of candy knights running to her aid. They poked and prodded at the beast, telling him to release their lady Sally. Her heart grew as her power felt stronger. She was able to blow a kiss that stunned the Devil into releasing her. "That's new?! Ha! I feel stronger, come at me!" Sally jumped and drop kicked the snake before it shifted back into his normal form. "How unfortunate. You know Sally if we continue to fight. I will win your soul." "I will protect my Bon Bon with everything I have. I may not be in my element but I will fight with everything I have!"
Bon was sleeping soundly until a loud crash started her awake. "Sally?!" She breathed, quickly crawling out of her bed. She felt a strong feeling of fear wash over her. Without caring how she was dressed, she grabbed her cane and ran to the stairs. "Sally! Stop!" Bon shouted. The Devil took that distraction. As Sally turned, he transformed into a large horned goat and rammed into her backside. Sending her flying to the bottom of the steps. "Sally!" Bon ran and wrapped an arm around her love as she lifted her candy cane shotgun towards the Devil. "Get out! This is my domain and you're no longer welcome here." Bon growled angrily. "Alright, but I'll be taking her soul. She insisted on fighting so just..." He reached for Sally and Bon lifted her gun to his chin. "That wasn't a fair fight and you know it. Besides, she is mine! Now what did you want from me?"
"Your's Hu? She doesn't look like candy to me, and if you wouldn't have distracted her she may have even won my dear." The Devil smirked. Bon eyed them both; The Devil's eye had definitely felt a few blows along with ripped hair and a chipped horn, and other then the blow to the back Sally only had a scratch on her cheek. "She would have... won?" Bon's eyes began to water as she pulled her darling in closer. "I'll do anything for her to keep her soul. It was my fault she lost in the first place."
"Maybe, maybe not. I won and I'm here to collect."
The candy heart filled with dread as she pulled herself together. She gently laid Sally down and stood, preparing for battle. "It was my fault she got hurt. I will take her place in the fight for her soul."
"I'm not in the mood for candy right now. Not to mention if I take another bite, you might just fall apart."
"I don't care. Ether fight me or leave soulless."
Bon stood proudly as she fearlessly began to morph into a monstrous state. Her body grew and her teeth sharpened as she began to attack her intruder.
The sound of screaming broke Sally out of her dazed state. Especially after she realized it was Bon's voice. Her heart dropped when she saw her love being squeezed by the Devil's snake like form. He raised his head and was going to eat her before Sally's heals knocked him away. "Don't you dare you sneaky beast!" Sally yelled as she pulled on his horns roughly. "She brought this on herself." He snarled before Sally yanked him into his normal state, releasing Bon in the process. An enormous amount of pain shot through her back as she tried to wrestle the demon to the floor. Bon was heartbroken to see Sally in so much pain because of her. She fell to her knees, "Pease! Just stop! Both of you!"
Sally kept her arm around the demon's neck as she turned her attention to Bon. "Sugar, he didn't hurt you did he?" Sally asked in the sweetest tone she could muster. "Just a little bruised, and my..." Bon touched her hip and pulled back her hand when it was covered in chocolate. Her wound had opened back up and was bleeding a scary amount. "Bon!" Sally released her enemy and quickly ran to the noble's aid. "I got you, you're going to be just fine." Sally didn't budge as the Devil reached into her back, pulling out a piece of parchment. "You're soul is mine! Now be a dear and patch her up. We all have work to do." The Demon grimly spoke as Sally quickly rushed Bon to the stables. She needed to get to the Doctor as fast as she could.
Note: I was only going to make three chapters, but I really got into it. The forth one was going to be the final ending but I'm going to make the Cuphead and Mugman battles into their own chapter as well. There will be a happy ending and more game inspiration! Thank you for reading and please enjoy the ending!
