"We kinda figured that out already." Said Kel. Aubrey followed up, "But we figured you had to say it for yourselves." The hug loosened into just a close meeting.
"... what?" said Basil.
"Well," Started Kel, "For a couple of years, I've had a suspicion it wasn't a scuicide. So I talked to Hero about it and we figured something like this happened after Hero got back. Then we talked with Aubrey…"
"With the way you guys have been acting, it made sense. I mean, you guys never got to move on, or even cope like we did." Said Aubrey. "You never talked about it, didn't have friends around you." Of course that was never your fault. I'm sorry Basil."
Basil chuckled through his tears. "I can't believe it… I don't deserve you guys." They all made a weak laugh of relief. While everyone stopped, Sunny kept laughing. He laughed harder and harder, so hard he could barely breathe. Then it devolved into a horrible outrageous sob. He fell asleep in their comfort. And by that I mean he blacked out.
…
He dreamt of an infinite white room, but not a cold, empty room; This was a warm paradise. He looked at himself. Omori was nowhere to be seen. He was himself. Mari approached him in a glow of light. Sunny looked down.
"I see you got the band back together." Said Mari. He smiled.
"It's not the same without you." Sunny Said looking up at her. He noticed they were the same height.
Mari snickered. "It'll never be the same without me." He frowned and looked down again. "Hey, I'm sorry I pushed you so hard. It was pretty selfish of me."
"I don't know what I'll do without you. I don't know what to think. I killed you, why are you apologizing to me?" Sunny said with some pain in his voice.
"I never blamed you, Sunny. I just don't want to see you hurting anymore." Mari went into a hug.
"Take care of yourself, okay? Keep our friends safe?"
"Mhmm." Sunny sniffled.
"I'll bake some cookies; we can all be together again." Mari started to glow.
"Yea." The light filled the room, and Sunny gently opened his eyes again into the morning.
