It's been two years since the Gaang ended the war, and Katara is struggling to find her place in the new world. She is haunted by the voices in her head and the firebender in her heart. She goes on a journey to heal herself as she and the Gaang help each other come to terms with the actions they took to survive the war. Told over the passing of the seasons.

'We need this,' Katara says quietly, intimately, as though they do not have the crushing weight of the whole Fire Nation on their collective shoulders. 'It's only a week.' He runs an anxious hand through his hair. 'A whole week? Katara…' 'What's one week out of the hundreds we've served over the last six years' He glances at his wife, at the loss of her sunny smiles. 'One week.'

After an encounter with the local wildlife in the Earth Kingdom, Katara runs into Zuko, who has had an unpleasant encounter of his own.

Shortly after Zuko joins the Gaang, an untrusting Katara suspects that he's double-crossing them for the Fire Nation and attempts to enter his memories using sun memory water. However she discovers far more than she expected, and soon things take a turn for the worse when the water appears to have come from a far more malevolent source.

When Zuko says something that upsets Aang the airbender does something he regrets. Zuko gets pulled into the spirit world with Roku and learns about the past of the airbenders. He is forced to question what he was taught in the fire nation and see his young new student and friend differently.(I suck at summaries.)

The Legacy of Rong Yan, tells the tale about Avatar Yangchen's predecessor, Avatar Rong Yan and how he ended a violent insurrection against the Kingdom of Ba Sing Se and the Northern Water Tribe by veteran rebels who are thirsty for bloodshed, sparking the embers of war, sixty-three years after the initial war ended. Aang loved all of his friends dearly, but sometimes, the nagging thought that he didn't belong in this world became too loud to ignore. As his birthday—which he had once shared with several other Air Nomads—rolls around, he struggles to distract himself from all he's lost to time and war. However, the birthday party Katara throws him helps him remember all he's gained.

What was Katara thinking in The Cave of Two Lovers? Maybe this? Shippy, sappy and slightly self-indulgent. But if it makes you smile at all, it will have been worth the effort. Kataang, of course.

Sokkla Saturdays 2020 Day 2 ("As if that would happen!"): Azula has learned to deal with lies and false hope. She has found a way to steel her heart with bitter lessons and right now she's about to use her mantra again cause her world is spinning like it has never done before...

Yue knew: the moon was always there, but one day, it would not be, and Yue would not be either. And that was why Yue was okay with never being able to be. Be normal, be happy, be Yue. She was alright never knowing what those things even were. Because Yue's life had never been hers to keep.
